If anyone's interested, our little company offers pirate bracers & custom mugs. The bracers we make have the flags from actual pirates (i.e. Henry Avery, Calico Jack, etc). Of course, we can always do custom work, too. Here's a link to my pirate outfit (please ignore the fat old woman wearing it. ) Be sure to scroll down and check out my mug. I can't help bragging on it!

taking lynette's lead here...
i'm introducing myself too. i'm a habitual lurker, tending to read posts way more than write them. anyway i just wanted to add my name to the list. i will also be at dragoncon this year and looking forward to meeting lots of other browncoats and the BDHs of course.
even though this is not my first con (or D*C for that matter) it is definitely my first time as a browncoat, bein that i only discovered Firefly since Serenity. Can't wait!

Also i recently find myself in need of a room mate or 2. so if you're female and would like to share a double bed room at the HYATT send me a message. i think the rate is $150/night

I've had an update on the offerings you can bring to the Wake.

It looks like we'll be donating the dinos and books to a children's hospital. So children's books and young adult books are a good bet. Pretty much anything that is suitable for the youngons. I'm going to bring some sci-fi and fantasy that I read in my tender years.

With your help we can brighten the day of some ill kidlets and make their stay in hospital less scary.

Thanks everybody!

And please post this anywhere you think it's appropriate. I just can't hit everywhere myself

So I just realized that PM's aren't working either. If you had signed up to go to the aquarium with my wee group, and haven't recieved the details as to where we're meeting and when, post here and let me know.

I sent out a message a week or two ago and haven't heard from a few people. I guess 'cause PM's aren't working. I'm going to release the tickets of the people I haven't heard from by the end of this coming week, so I want to put out the broadwave, as it were.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread...

Okay, the Bedlam Bards are going to be there with bells--um, I mean, brown coats--on.

And yeah, I'm even gonna wear mine for the parade. Sue wore hers last year, so I reckon it won't make a corpse of me. I'm just glad it has pockets big enough for bottled water . . .

So, add the following folks to the list:

Cedric
Hawke
Joyce

I've just added 4 names to the list that make me even more excited about D*C.
Yay DarkJester, Cedric, Hawke, and Joyce. The Bedlam Bards are in the Con! Those of you haven't seen them live are in for a treat. I've had the honour twice, at last D*C and at a Ren Faire here in NC. I'm eager to raise my glass to them again, and to go "On the Drift".

Aww, y'all are too kind! I'm lookin' forward to a really great time.

I loved pointing out y'all to my friends when we watched "Done the Impossible." And then there was the parade shot, and I was like, "Hey, I know those people! Oh, look, there's me!"

Also, I just found out that there *will* be an Art Crawl from 5-10 Friday and Saturday nights. We'll most likely sing and play the Crawl on Friday. Hope to see lot of you there!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

The only way Dragon Con could get better is if the Bards show up, and lo and behold, they announce they will be there.

Glad to hear you are making it Cedric. Look forward to hearing the Bards play again this year. If your selling those shiny "On the Drift" cds I'll be buying a couple as well. I play the cds I bought last year all the time at home. Nothing better to inspire one to some yardwork than a bawdy ballad by the Bards.

If there is room in Jadehand's invitation I'd like to tag along for said frosty beverages as well.

Okay, remember how we were all talking about taking over Buffy Prom because there was no Shindig?

Scratch that.

Prom is out.

Shindig is in.

Here is WickedWren's post from the SEBC:

So remember way back, when I said the D*C was not sponsoring a Shindig
this year? Remember when I said that if that changed, I'd be yelling
it from the rafters? Well, consider this me yelling it from the
rafters. The SEBC is having a Shindig!

I no longer need hypothetical volunteers, I need real ones. Here's the
sitch. We get the Hanover room C,D, and E at 8:30 Saturday night to
set up. We have the room until people leave. Doors open at 10. We'll
be there all night, so go to the Wake, the Signal podcast, and end up
with us. Make it just one big Browncoat day.

The plans for this year are to be less rave-y and more Shindig-y. And
we have 10 days, so we're gonna need help. Who's with me?

Go forth and post this jubilant news wherever Browncoats may visit.
Let's show everyone that the Browncoats are here to stay =)

Yay!

So hopefully 2 will be better than 1.

You know I have done costumes the past two years as Mal & Jayne, but I think this year I am going sans costume. I will have my Firefly & Serenity shirts, but I am going to forego the costumes. It gets hot and stuffy outside, and inside is little better with so many people.

As for the Shindig, I would be interested in helping, so whoever needs to can contact me via my profile or at jimi.spettel@gmail.com . Specifically, are the two bartenders you hired the only ones allowed to make the drinks? I have been doing it for 3+ years and would be willing to put in some time helping, if it is allowed.
