For some reason, I think that the Harvest March is happening in Madison sometime soon, but I could be wrong.

Kayna-

I think you look great. I also notice that you're from Michigan. I'm from WI and love to be barefoot, in flip flops, and tearing around in my bathing suit. There must be some sort of correlation between obsessively not wearing shoes and residing in a cold cold climate.

When and where is Harvest March and how do I find out more about it? I tend to go back to Chicago on my weekends and hang out with friends. I don't hang with too many people up here in Wisconsin since I started working out here, so I've never even heard of that.... or did you just make it up and I'm getting excited for no reason?

And Everclear.... you are, without a doubt, a Zoe. I knew this girl Laurie in highschool... you wouldn't think it by lookin at little ol her, but she was able to outdrink every guy at the party with the Everclear. Now I consider myself a pretty good drinker and I can handle my liquor, but I favor beer and Vodka...

Careful with that Everclear... you might spontaneously combust.

It's October 7/8. Madison, WI.

http://www.madisonnorml.org/blog/archives/cat_events.php

It's not a lie.

I will not spontaneously combust! We mix it with mt. dew, fruit punch, squirt, fruit, and some ice!!! That's not all I had that night. I actually started around noon in the time period between 2 of my final exams.

I tend to think of myself more as a River . . .I'm kind of random and kind of crazy.

You gotta be kidding me. You know that it's October 9th today, right? It took me waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to long to figure that out. I was about to get on the phone and start calling friends up here.

Yeah... no doubt I'm a smoker. Oh well... next year it is then.

It seems like you have to drink in Wisconsin because there's nothing much else to do here besides drink... or watch the Packers get their butts kicked. But from what I hear, that's just making people in Wisconsin drink more. It's a viscious circle.

Go Bears!

I smell. Superbowl Shuffle #2!

Hello again, still no pics, i'm bad, i'm sorry.

I know what a beer bong is (because I've watched THAT episode of NCIS), but wtf is everclear?

Anyway, a beer bong (as I understand it), is you have a legth of piping (garden hose or the like), one end stuck in your mouth, and a funnel attached to the other. have someone pour the bottle of beer into the funnel, and you have to drink it all in one go.

As DiNozzo states in the epi (well, a follow up ep) "the chicks love a mature man who can bong a beer in under...." (forget the exact amount of time). Okay, so the quote isn't exact, but it's close enough.

I believe that everclear is an extremely high-proof drink that is clear as water.
As for loving a man who can do a fast beer-bong, probably don't want to put all chicks in that catagory. Some of us might be a little disgusted by it.

I had no intention of making the mistake of thinking all ladies think the same way. The character was refering to people on spring break, so his idea of ladies in this context would be the ones who show up on all those spring break videos.

Ha!! I love Michael Weatherley in that show... 'tis the only reason I really ever watch it!... well him and my first TV love - Mark Harmon *sigh* But I didn't know what 'everclear' was either...thank you Mei Mei!!

I have, however, drunk 80% proof Polish vodka when living in England... as a straight up night cap - guys can't believe how well I hold my liquor sometimes... ;-) It must be an Aussie thing?

My intial reason for watching the show was because of Michael Weatherly, although it took me a few eps to stop thinking of him as Logan (or "Eyes Only"), but I found it quite enjoyable and liked it on its own merits.

Everclear is US thing as far as I know, though I am not sure where it is actually made. Clear as water, 95% alcohol. Usually used in hunch punch/jungle juice/whatever you want to call it.

Magdalena, I am with you on the getting drunk issue. I have a very high tolerance, and it is a bit expensive to do it at a bar, though I can usually get a good buzz off of a six pack if I drink them fast enough.

Nicodemus got the beer bong description right. I'm usually not the biggest fan of them, but if I'm in the right mood . . .

Everclear is a ridiculously high proof, clear alcohol. There are a couple of different levels, but the "most popular" one is 95% alcohol. It's often used in Wop, jungle juice, whatever else you want to call it. It does have other uses though, such as making liqueurs at home. Not sure on all the details, but wikipedia has some directions.

I wouldn't say I hate WI per se. I'm just annoyed to be back after spending 2 months in Hawaii, where the weather was constantly lovely and I had an ocean at my ready disposal.

And stereotypical spring break is gross!

Funny you should mention those, as I had a few over in Kelkhil's Pub just this morning.

I had both Heifenwisen (Firehouse brand, excellent stuff IMHO) and Blue Moon (Belgian white wheat ale) last night and while you can somewhat see through both of them they were mighty tasty. I guess wheat beer is somewhat of an aquired taste though.

As for beer bongs, I have never done it, and neither have I done a keg stand (though the latter is only because there is never anyone around who is strong enough to hold me up).

all the purdy peeps continue to be purdy, outshining the proletarian masses with their purdiness. exclipsing the drab and dreary masses with their overwhelmingly purdy countenace. masking the visage's of lesser being with their jawdropping purdificationalism (slipping into bushism there)(was tempted to write 'a bit of bush' but thought the innuendo might take first fiddle to the referance...)

yesss, so many purdy peeps, to single one out would be a slight to the rest, for each is as a gem that shines light on it's surroundings, making them all the brighter for it's presence! and surely to remove one such would be disservice to the many, lossing it's reflected brilliance, but greater disservice to the one, loosing the brilliance of so many around it!

yes, still stuck net-cafeing, and unable to be the camera whore i is myself (i'm confortable with the term, and believe that to term myself a camera companion would be a delusion of grandeur, not of my looks, which, of course, are more purdiful by far then any mere mortal may aspire to, but my manner, and camera-whorish intent ^_~ )

I forgot to say, Simonwho is attempting to organise a trip to see Spamalot (the musical adaptation of Monty Pythons Knights of the Holy Grail), with Tim Curry in what could possibly be his last ever stage role, at the Palace Theatre, London, on the 12th of December.

The tickets are quite pricey, at 55 pounds, but if anyone wants to come along, we're trying to make a shindig of it, and you'd be welcomed with open arms, drunken cries and cunning hats.

Saying that though, I'm not sure anyone here is in the south of England.
