Have you heard the joke about the dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac who stayed up all night wondering if there really was a dog?

As far as apples go I'm a Fuji man myself, candy sweet and crisp.

Serenity, don't worry, we all love you just the way you are.

But yes, anyway.

Hope he doesn't bite.

Ok, its apparently a girl, called Rapunzel.

I adore the free imagination of children. Can be a beautiful thing. And can also lead to them sticking toast into video players.

The thrilling conclusion to my "Will he or won't he be laid off" storyline is...

... going to be revealed in an all-new episode of "Just Tell Us Already" next Tuesday. And you thought Lost dragged things out.

Anyway, nice to see people loafing properly. I'm feeling all nostalgic for S3. I'm even tempted by D*C.

Ah, we'll see how things resolve themselves before then.

I know for a fact that invisible hamsters named Rapunzel do NOT bite. They are nice and like to eat invisible baby lettuce.

You can tell Rheannon I said that, though I'll doubt she'll get the joke.

oh, you have to be more tham tempted, you have to be really tempted, you have to really want to come.

And you have to choose a god to come as.

She's never posted toast, she's always been brilliant around electricals - even when her great grandma showed her how do destroy them by putting a video tape in with the plastic wrapper still on.

No she's a delicate and careful as you please with anything - pets ornaments, DVdS and books, its only peoples heads and faces that she has a hard time recognising as 'breakable'.

She's gone downstairs, her mum is currently yelling at her for no fault of her own. I just had a fight with my mother, so i'm sitting up here in my room attempting to tidy and organise stuff in and around the angry muttering. How is everyone else doing?

Would be good to go do the US thing again. I really enjoyed touring New York & Florida. Tulsa was an interesting glimpse into non-tourist America. So maybe another trip... ah, let's see if I have enough money to feed myself before I start overplanning? When do tickets go on sale and I have to make a decision?

It wasn't much of a fight, it was simply the usual round of it being all my fault, and when I tried to argue - to say that they were just as tetchy as me, I was told to f**k off.

So i did.

And here i am whinging again when Stuart has much worse problems than me, and he's still managing to joke about it.

Aw, sweetie! I'm sorry. *hugs*

I understand the unsavoury home life. I left my parents' house when I was 17, too, didn't want to ever come back.

And, I don't like where I'm living now, too, but I feel trapped here indefinitely. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to suffocate.

But, this isn't permanent, and neither is your situation. It'll pass.

If you ever want to run away from home, you could come here and we could get a flat. Or, I could come there and we could get a flat. Whatever. I'm always trying to get Mai to run away and come here, too, so we could get a cute little house or something, with the three of us! Wouldn't that be fun?

Stuart, "memberships" for Dragon*Con (i.e. tickets) are probably on sale now. The closer to D*C, the more expensive they become, but you can buy them there, if you have to.

So, you have to make a decision by Labor Day weekend, 2007.

It would be absolutely wonderful, sadly immigration officers stand in the way of that plan. Damn laws!

grrrr. I can't help but think that if just one thing changed it might make it better - if i could get a different job, if my brother would move out, if i met someone tomorrow and they decided that their big old house wasn't complete with out renting me a room to uses to make stuff (the rent being two packets of crisps and a pint a week or something) If i just had some escape from it. Basically i've got nowhere to go that i'm happy with. Apart from here.

And they wonder why i get so morose when the site crashes.

But you're right, it'll pass. But that just means i'm left wishing vast chunks of my life away (i.e, could i fall unconcious now and not wake up until its all better?) which i'm sure isn't a good thing. Even worse, i keep wishing i could get run over by a bus or something so that i got the chance to do something productive undisturbed.

I do long for the day when i start enjoying my life, and not just the chances i get to escape from it.

When it next flares up though i'll take you up on that offer, thank you.

yes, I realise its a very bad thing when you feel your life would be vastly improved by a painful meeting with the front end of a large vehicle, but i was thinking, you just a leg, maybe a head injury - i'm really not using that much of it, and they would let me off a few months of work, so that i could sew, and make things, and maybe if i got compensation, i could buy things to sew even more, and then when something was a success on ebay, i could maybe jack in work entirely, and then in a few years time write a book about it and make enough to keep sewing, so that i never actually have to work again, and i could maybe buy two caravans with the money from the book, one to live and one to work in, and drive them out to the middle of nowhere, and live very happily as a forest dwelling, corset and pretty dress making, crooked legged hermit.

that'd be nice

And you'd all still love me even with a gammy leg.

wouldn't you?

But is he really serious about suing you? have you spoken to a lawyer yet? Was it actually any fault of yours? Are we going to see you on Judge Judy? (god thats an awful show)

I'd say good luck, but what you need is good lawyers, so 'Good (cheap!) Lawyers!'

Memberships eh?

Well, we'll have to see. Ooo, I've yet to check my EuroMillions results. Maybe I can buy a big Browncoat house somewhere (possibly one on each side of the Atlantic) for us all to hang out in while we await our self-funded sequel. Hang on.

Sorry chaps. Nothing. But no-one won the jackpot so it's up to £120,000,000 now (and that's an actual £120,000,000, not this American lottery system of £120,000,000 if you take it over 5000 years, less 50% tax. It's £120,000,000 in cold hard cash, immediately, tax free.)

With that extra £20,000,000 we could do a Wonderfalls movie too.

And big hugs to Serenity and Seryn - I feel in a much happier place than them so they need more sympathy.

He hasn't actually taken legal action yet, only sent me a letter saying he wants almost $13,000 and that if something isn't worked out between us we'll be going to court. The 13,000 is to cover wages lost. NY state has some interesting vehicle accident laws, though, so I may have something to go on.

I'd love to make plans for everyone to hang out and enjoy ourselves again next year. I'm not sure what everyone else thinks of that though. I'm not going to assume at this point that I'll even be a part of this group at that time. I had many issues this year, and lots of stress relating to my recent move and new job. (perhaps there are a couple of folk here who understand stress?)That coupled with more personal stressors had me in, well, not the best place to be having a vacation. I handled it poorly. There are rifts that may not close.
So perhaps after more time passes, I'll hear if people want to patch things up, or if I'm required to walk away from all this. I'm not going to plan for everyone to be together, if not everyone wants to be.
Yes, I was bad. I felt horrible about it for 2 months, I apologized for it for 2 months, I suffered for it for 2 months. In those 2 months, I also grew up a little bit, and got over it, and gained strength from it. Maybe others will too.
til then

I was not driving badly, I was in my own car. It was during the day of the worst winter storm we had last year. They wanted to medivac me via helicopter, but the weather wouldn't permit it. I'm still not sure how the hell I lost control of my vehicle. I was driving in a straight line at a constant speed, for gods sakes. My car turned sharply to the left about 90 degrees and into the other lane and continued going down the road the direction it was already headed. Semi coming down the hill going the other direction rams me.

Anyways, NY state has strange laws when it comes to collisions. All this time I'd thought my accident was ruled no fault due to the weather but recently found out it was only ruled no fault as far as medical expenses were concerned. The accident was my fault, by the law (which pisses me off, but I can accept it I guess. In any case, I've found out that my insurance company may have improperly handled the claim (ny state handles this differently, too), so they may be liable for anything the semi driver wants. Also, I may have a case to sue the insurance company, but I'm still looking into that.

Other than that... well, I guess other than that I'm ok. I could use a good massage, but there's no one to provide that. I'll relax deeply when I get home, if I survive the next 7 hours.

That is so true, lol! What strikes me is that in most cases -- that being my impression of "most" -- the topics start out with intriguing propositions, which invariably deteriorate into mud slinging (okay, feces hurling) personal vendettas. It strikes me as worth considering if this is an inevitable human trait, regardless of the common intelligence involved. To wit: how belief trumps logic in almost every discourse.

I think it might be because humans like to allow passionate behaviour to overwhelm logical discourse. Case in point: in the BDM, Book's last words encourage Mal to believe, in something, anything. Which, to me, suggests that even Joss wants to point out that belief is the most important component of our actions, which appears to generally relegate logical analysis to a secondary role.

5,000 word essay on the implications of said idea due by D*C '07.

I work with the developmentally disabled. Mostly various degrees of Autism, some also with MR. I had just started this job and moved here right before D*C... hence the increased stress and my my poor behavior.

I enjoy passion trumping logic my own self. Gets me into trouble, and hurts like hell. But logic has no place in passion.

No, not really. I just sometimes feel people don't talk like they ought to. Wish things were different, but if wishes were horses... I'd be riding off into the sunset.

you know, i forgive you every little speck of 'bad behaviour' and i'm sure everyone else does too - I only have to deal with people with special needs when they come in to the museum (yelling things at you, sitting and hitting their heads against the lift buttons, dribbling in the marbles) but mostly they're all happy to be doing something fun and perfectly wonderful. But their helpers - i wouldn't do that job in a million years.

Kudos to you mate.

Isn't sanity really a one trick pony, anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazy...ooh hoo hoo hoo... the skys the limit!

If I wanted that kinda massage, I'd be getting out my "tools"... speaking of which, that's a great idea. Thanks. Off to get my tools out tonight, I could use a bit of the ol' ... course, there's still no one around here to "play" with.

Hey, I've already apologised to you for that.

What? Isn't alcohol a special need?

Yay! I got kudos!
no, really, it's only bad on occassion, but when it's bad, it's really bad. today was one of those. when someone can't communicate it's almost worse that when they chose not to, Almost. And yeah the head banging is a conundrum. Going to not be mean right now.
Oh and thank you for your understanding. you are a kind and generous woman, may you always receive twice the glory and praise that you feel you could stand.
