Jonny- guilty as charged and apparently I also "click" when I walk. I was heading to my room after the training and when I got there all my students said " see told you she was coming." I asked them how they knew it was me and they said they could tell from the clicking. That's when I realized none of the other female teachers(or male for that matter) wear really high heels and such. However ,if all your wife does is co-ordinate outfits she's no where near my insanity. Everything from underwear to p coat is co-ordinated ( including scarf with coat) as well as jewlery and shoes....why?? because I gotta!!! I love clothes, shoes, and jewlery...it's my hobby. PLus it makes such a fun contrast...super girly appearance...masculine attitudes, interests, and actions. Kinda shakes folks up

OK and now Wyatt and Annie...and my legs ( I'm the one in the jeans directly behind them)

I'm taking these out of order because I need to comment on this part first. I didn't mention Mrs. Quest's under things because I'm not sure how I feel about discussing my wife's underthings on the web. However, as she has no such reservations herself, I guess I'm just caving in to my inner prude. If everything she has on--everything--doesn't match she has spasms and seizures. Mild cases are marked only by tremors and tics. She's slowly in the process of converting the office.

Over the last few weeks as I have drawn pictures of you all in my mind's eye (photos help, but as a vampire at heart, I am much more interested in your souls), I have found you to be rather clonish of her. So much so in fact that just yesterday I checked the date you signed up on your profile to make sure she wasn't just pretending to be you. (YEAH, it's that close. Besides the clothes and accessories thing she's more at home with guys and guy interests, she loves criminal justice stuff, she's buxom, she lost 70 lbs. last year. Shall I go on? Oh yeah the Utah connection. Donny Osmond is the shits. Always has been. Ask her anything about any Osmond and she can tell you.

While Toni occasionally "clicks" it's not too unusual a sound to hear at the University so Mrs. Quest's story is that she's a "tapper". Unbeknownst to her but a hoot for her whole staff, she got called on it a few weeks back. When she's training people, her ever-present pen unconsciously taps the procedure or example she's explaining to emphasize her points. She vehemently denied it. One of her girls then lit into a spot on imitation to the delight of all, including a blushing Mrs. Quest.

Just had her 47th October 15, but she doesn't like odd numbers so she would tell 48. Damn we are getting up there. And she used to tell me that the F-word was her favorite word. She doesn't tell me that much anymore. She just says it.

JOHNNYQUEST!

"Rarified stratum"? I like that. And thank you for your compliments.

I didn't ignore your post (from 13-NOV), it simply took this much time to absorb it and conjure the proper response. Those averse to ramblings may just wanna scroll on down the page....

To address your points (and, "not that I know of, but I wouldn't be surprised" to your final question) in, hopefully, the briefest manner possible: I am a collector, raised by collectors, who were themselves raised by collectors; I am one of the more eclectic ones, and yeah, that extends to articles of clothing.

The point of collecting, to me, is to obtain an item, no matter how trivial, that evokes a strong emotional response or memory. In the case of Firefly, my collecting is for the latter; clothing would fall under the former. The strong emotional memory portion is simple, really: memories alone are just fine and dandy, but when you have a physical object that you can feel and manipulate (heh, what can I say? I'm a tactile kinda girl *snikker*), the memories are triggered more intensely and vividly.

My Firefly collection is a good example of that. I don't prattle on around here about how much I adore the show because I'm generally more intraverted about my passions. I can sit at home and page through the various script revisions, or admire the tailoring on Kaylee's coveralls, or turn out the lights and turn on the translites from our beloved ship, (or curl up in one of Jayne's t-shirts, but we won't go there)... and I can just quietly relish the memories, and in turn, the happiness that those memories bring.

The other part of collecting - the emotional response - is borne purely out my admiration for certain qualities. The Victorian clothing fits that category. The materials, the styling, the construction - there is beauty in these things, along with tremendous skill, that is often times just over looked. But I love those details. And the idea that someone made these things by hand over 100 years ago, and were most likely nothing special at the time, yet they've survived all this time...? That captivates me. It's literally a solid link to the past. At the same time... and I'm sure I've passed the point of reasonable off-hand philosophical discussion into full-blown rambling... at the same time, it's a very real suggestion about possible links to the future. I mean, look around you: someone 100 years from now could buy the chair you're sitting in for their collection, and they could marvel at the craftmanship and ponder who you were when you sat in that very chair........

Um. Yeah. So. There you have it. And then some.

OH! And! Yeah, I'm also a bit of a girly-girl when it comes to the fact that I do buy clothes just cuz they're pretty (in my warped eye) and I'm a big of a slob in that I also buy for lazy comfort. And please don't get me started on boots.... mmmmmmmm..........

Okay. That's it. Honest. I'll leave you alone now.

Thank you for the compliment on the armor. You know, I should make you some pieces...you would be a phenomenal model/photographer for stuff like that...just wish you lived closer.

Tristan, Tristan, Tristan. So many pretty pictures. Oops, am I allowed to use the word "pretty" here? Cuz, I could use mighty words like... um... debonair, or charming, or handsome, or comely (which always sounded kinda nasty to me, but my mind isn't as innocent as it used to be). At any rate: Very Nice. I even saw a complete smile in one of them! And Tristan as Badger! That is love.

If you were to play in my closet, I fear you would get lost and no one would ever hear from you again! It's really quite messy. And full. If by "full" you mean "insanely bursting at the seams no way one single human being could possibly wear all of that," but I'm not one to quibble about semantics.

And, hey, don't let distance stop you from making shiny armor thingies for me! I would (um) really hate to (er) deprive (yes that's it, DEPRIVE) the good folks in this thread of more shiny Tristan costume photos. No, because that would be wrong.

Um, well, if you'd like, PhoenixRose, Magda and I are planning on "fighting" over clothing (and taking pictures for fun and profit), so if you'd like to join the fun........

I hope you don't take this as an insult, cuz I mean it as a compliment: regarding that picture your husband shot, my first thought was "Dawn!" as in Buffy's sister, and my second thought was "But still kinda Kaylee... so... Kawn? Dawlee? Okay, Sara, stop thinking." You're always so lovely in all your photos.

That cat is adorable! I luv kitties. Not sure I want to 'own' one ever again, but I think they are so cool.
HK, I want your closet. I would have that kind of closet if I didn't have to eat; how do you manage it?
Oh, and thank you! Feel free to use the word adorable at me any time

I am such a chronic attention-seeking film companion...

You were expecting another picture here, right? Well, that would have been good, but due to my ed-up work schedule this week, I haven't had the chance to take any. The ones I do have that you haven't seen yet don't really fit the attention-seeking comment...

Okay, okay! You've seen a couple of these already, but here's another picture of me with my bag. I'm totally showing off how high I can kick.

Just wish I had figured out where to place the camera to get more of my supporting leg in there by then. But I hadn't!

Why wouldn't you want to be owned by a kitten/cat again? Did Hallie Berry scare you that bad?

Malicious JQ: Bah! You can't kick as high as your "picture" shows.
