I understand, I don't comprehend.

You don't need tv to do that, but who am I to knock your hobbies.

theres also the fact that its very easy to get suckered in - 'I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here' (translation - i'm a D-list nobody trying to boost a flagging career by eating worms on national television - don't get me out of here! I'll have to go back to packing bags in sainsbury's) Has just begun on televison and already the papers and other media are at saturation point - to the stage where I've seen David Gest with no shirt on.

'scuse me while i go bleach my eyeballs.

Isn't sanity really a one trick pony, anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazy...ooh hoo hoo hoo... the skys the limit!

I really don't recommend the bleach on the eyeballs. Not so pleasant. there are other ways to get horrid images out of your mind.

Okay I get it. It's a guilty tv pleasure. I just have to wonder why people are so conflicted. If they aren't comfortable liking it, why not just find something else? Or just accept that it's something they like and stop flogging themselves with seaweed.

My apologies LMD, you never said you felt guilty watching survivor so don't feel I'm lumping you into the guilt group.

SR - no, its not that i watch it - infact i don't think i've watched television at all since Torchwood on sunday night (i even missed Morena in SG1 - poo, and double poo) but its in every newspaper you pick up (especially the free one I get on the bus for the sudoku puzzles) and on billboards etc.

With some people, they see all this and eventually the want to know what happened, they can't help themselves (not LMD - very healthy acceptance thing you've got going there)

Car crash television.

whoa whoa whoa, slow down loose cannon. No need for anyone to stop flogging themselves. Flogging is very important.
Fact is, I used to enjoy Amazing Race for the viewing of places I'd never see live. But really all I even learned about people from those shows and from personal interaction, is 99% of us are focused on ourselves, we are selfish, we seek attention, and when we don't get it, we get mad. We pout, we whine. Yes, I said "we". I've done it. Not proud. It's human nature. AS much as I try to rise above human nature, I can't/don't succeed all the time. A few of us feel bad about it, whilst others revel in it. The trick is to find those that can listen as much as they talk.
"Look at me, tell me I'm pretty." Get's old quick. Bored now. Adult is nice. We've all got flaws, we've all got scars(some are physical, some emotional/psychological, some are both), we've all got damage.
I used to want to say that I love people despite that. Now... I love people because of that.
Wait.... what am I on about?
Must be the 4:40 am thing, + the open window and the thunder storm.... Yummy, I loves me some thunder storms, the sound of the rain , the smell of the ozone....
Remember the immortal words of Dana Scully: "It's not all about you Moulder."
Also, The immortal words of Socrates: "I drank what?"

Well, that went more smoothly than I expected (though not everyone has chimed in yet). I don't feel guilty about watching Survivor...I'm just used to being ridiculed for it ;D

I understand where you're coming from, as well, SR...but I've no idea where else to observe small group politics without having to actually be involved in them. Thanks for understanding, though ;D

I like Project Runway.

I'm not sure why, since I really have no interest in fashion in general and think most of the stuff they make is hideous.

But I like it anyway! I sometimes catch the marathons on Bravo on the weekends.

Since I got Sky+ (think Tivo), I pretty much only watch the television I really want to. I can't remember the last time I just sat down and watched whatever was on at the time.

It did this morning, I managed to procure the day off, so the Parcel Force man woke me up from my lie in

But the timing was impeccable.

I've got a big red box ready to be sent off. I'll try and get to the Post office tomorrow.

Thanks Guys.

Its all that Valentines Day malarky - and those chilly nights.

Not me, i'm a spring baby.

But why so tired dearie? Is it just end of the week exhaustion?

Cheers jadehand - one man emoti-party machine!

On the earlier subject - i did watch the first two episodes of 'Make me a Supermodel' - they were fun because it was basically 'lets torture the (supposedly) Beautiful People' - they did thinks like make them get bikini and BCS waxes with all the others watching, forced them into unitards and got them to put their absolute favoritiest clothes on, took them outside and made them burn the outfits on a bonfire. It was meant to be some symbolic thing, but think they did it just to watch them cry.

But then they started being nice to them and sending them off to paris and it got boring.

No no, that's what I wouldn't have done if he was giving me bills. I certainly would never feed a tax man who wakes me up in the morning to my Snake.

Never know who is listening.
