Alright, no Harry Potter-ness, but I thought I'd show everyone what's been happening the last few days...

On Tuesday it started snowing

Yesterday the camera batteries were dead and had to charge, but here's what it looks like now, today, after my stepdad shoveled all day yesterday

Me lifting a shovel piled with snow

And standing in the backyard

Which looks like this on the side; the wind carved this weird hollow out, so you can see how deep the drifts are

The other side of the backyard and the buried tree

Yes, lots of boring pictures of white stuff, but I really, really have nothing else to do. Even my car (the lovely white Subaru you can all see there) can't yet make it out. Tim, my stepdad, worked for hours just to clear the sidewalk and a block of snow from in front of my car. I might be all dug out before Sunday when I have to go back to work (and hooray for double-time!) but in the meantime, I can't really go anywhere and I'm seriously grocery-deprived.

I know you all believed how bad it was, but hey, visual aides are our friend. And I'm bored

♪Oh the weather outside is frightful... ♪

Oh Gladiator, that's a great Jayne figure! Fabulous! And LOL @ never complaining about the cold again! Would you believe this isn't even the worst storm I've seen? March of 2002 it dumped 5 feet of heavy snow on northern Colorado. My car was quite literally buried and everything was shut down for about three days. It was great sculpting snow, but I couldn't stand to stay out in it long enough to clear a space and then make anything; it was just too cold and the snow was too heavy and came up to my shoulders.
Ooooooh, Mavs, please send a bit of that warmth our way; it would be great help to melt a bit of this down...
Best of luck to your sis-in-law, though I'm sure DIA has been thoroughly plowed by now.
And I do think it's pretty, RIMG, I'm just getting a touch of cabin fever is all.

No jie jie, I live in a fairly new neighborhood (our house was just built two years ago) and the trees haven't had time to grow yet. The older parts of Loveland, and of course the foothills, are full of trees. Maybe sometime (after the snow melts) I'll take some pictures of my lovely town
And yeah, Yinyang lives in Fort Collins (I lived there for a long time, too) which is just the next town over. But it's the same nearly everywhere in Colorado. In an ironic role-reversal, the mountain roads way up high remain fairly clear.
Roxy, I would gladly trade my blizzard for your rain Stay dry! And that is a way cute shirt.

Here's a snippet of what the day held for me though!!
Me in my totally gorgeous, Tristan built Kaylee jacket!!!!!... and my little nephew, who was grinning all day!!

There was dinner with the family... my sister and neice...

and my neices and nephew put on a 'concert' for us...

Then gifts were exchanged...Dad did some instant deodorising with his talcum powder and my neices looked a little like companions in training!

Tea time - cold cuts of meat and salads are the go in Australia... My 10 year old neice poses with an empty glass...

Had enough of my Christmas?? I do hope each one of you has as wonderful a Christmas as I had!!

Cool new pictures.

Thanks for sharing, Marina and Orpheus.

SweetSerendipity, I do recall those dinosaur hair dryers. I spent a lot of time with one on my head in my youth.

PR and YinYang, great snow pictures. I don't get to see much of the white stuff any more. It's nice to see it occasionally to remind myself why I moved to Arizona.

Gladiator, nice Jayne action figure.

Roxy, I always love your pics, but your hair up with the Kaylee shirt is just too cute for words.

CaptainJoss, awesome NEW equipment. Do you enjoy medieval fighting?

Magda, great pics of the BBQ - I love the green foam reindeer antlers - very cute. The pictoral Christmas Day journal was nice to view. When I first saw the pic of your dad, I thought he had on those funny springy antennae. Then I realized it was a rose in the background. It was sweet of you to post the space monkeys.

LA, I've told you before those are 2 cute boys.

Shannara, I think others have mentioned that you have some beautiful eyes. I'm glad that you were able to figure out how to post the pics. I have this little emoticon if you have trouble again.

Causal, it's been awhile since you've posted. Nice to see pics from Iraq and the present.

ShadeSiren, great to have you come out and join the fun. Your elf ears are precious.

I hope I didn't miss anybody that posted recently. If I did, your's was so COOL that it took the words away from me.

I just got a digital camera for Christmas, so I hope to be posting more pics in the future.

So many shiny pics that I missed!

Hell's Kitten...I am not a Harry Potter fan, but seeing those pics...hehehe...good job!

Penguin...I remember that picture. Nice skirt!

Ah! Snow! Whee!! Thank all of you snow-pic posters! It's been awhile since we had a good snow storm down here.

Gladiator, love the Jayne figure! And your expression is a perfect match.

Roxy! Yet another Kaylee! And that addictive smile again...it always brings a smile to my face.

CaptainJosh...ooh! Nice shiny helm!

Magda, thank you for the "Xmas in Oz" photos! Looks like a lot of fun! Cute horns...their just a little droopy there towards the end.

Causal, always good to see you. And thank you again for your service.
I once tried skeet shooting with a Mossberg riot gun with a 18 1/2" slug barrel...you can probably guess how that went...

ShadeSiren, welcome to the party!
Nice artwork in your links, by the way. Thank you for sharing those.

Qing ren, again! Hey, nice jacket! Love the smile...always have!

I have many new gifts to show off (mostly perfect t-shirts that are going to require a "scene") and several other photos to post...so I should have those up tomorrow.

Thank you all again for sharing!

Updated bar shots. I got quite a number of decorative Chinese items for Xmas, and now I have to put them to good use.

Done without the flash because I thought it was a very neat shot.

And now for something completely different.
