You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Last thread was very popular! Time for a new addition to the ongoing saga of Browncoat purdyness!

*** Tutorial on posting images: http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.asp?b=5&t=22105&m=389562#389562 ***
(is this big enough? A lot of folk seem to have trouble finding it, so I hope this is big enough. I can take it up one more notch if it's not.)

Index of picture threads: http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.asp?b=11&t=27728

And I'll kick things off with a sort of 'River-ish' picture. I woke up today feeling horrible and couldn't sleep, so I watched Firefly. I thought I was feeling pretty close to River having pukey side effects in War Stories (I'm glad I didn't actually throw up) so I did a 'side effect' picture of me. All wrapped in a blanket and everything.

OH dear - poor Mei Mei - I will bid you goodnight with a picture to cheer you up - I am departing for the 'dead zone' otherwise known as 'staying with my parents for a few weeks' - and just popped in to see what was happening before I shut down the computer!!

So glad I did! to cheer you up!

My Baxter boy whom I will miss...

The computer I will miss...

The home where I lived for most of my life - including for the next 3 weeks...

and a passionfruit flower - you said you didn't ever have one whole - I thought you might not have seen their beautiful flowers either - I think this is a male flower... but I get confused...

I'll try to get a pic of the fruit now that it's starting to set on the plant soon - zu fu ni Mei Mei and all my gorgeous fellow camera-companions!!

Oooh, thank you my wonderful jie jie! That is an amazing flower, and I can very much understand why you would miss that computer. Not only for the unlimited access, but that is a nice monitor, too! (I should know, I've got one similar to it and it's my pride and joy )
You will just have to stay up really late and sneak on to the computer whilst in exile, so we can see you!

OK now just in case you are sick of them... more Wyatt and Annie

This is Annie doing a tiptoe reach trying to get the ornaments( we stripped them off to keep her from taking them and playing with them since they're glass)

And this is Wyatt trying a sneakier approach the innocent I'm just looking ( this is right before he launched himself up, caught hold of an ornament and ran away chuckling)

Ok, I was bored at a venue one day, waiting around for about 4 hours before my band's set, so I was taking random pics on the shite camara on my phone. I liked the way this one turned out (by complete accident), you can just about make me out in it, but I just like the way the light plays on the camara:

Well, I thought that it was a little disingenuous of me to keep posting photos from the Navy days, when I was younger and fitter. Here's one from last October, during a trip out to the coast. That's me on the right. That's what I look like now; hopefully not too much of a let-down!

Causal, I'm sure you do not disappoint

Okay, so this isn't of me. Don't know why, but I got the urge to post a picture of the only thing I've ever painted. Yep, art not made on the computer! Hehehe...

It's all runes (very meaningful runes to me) in different colors (though a few are difficult to make out in the picture; especially the blue and purple for some strange reason, and that weird orange color is actually bright gold in real life) and it hangs on the tiny bit of wall above my bed in a kind of alcove. Took a few tries to get it to stay up there, since I had to find a way to attach a hanger thing to the back. Anyway, there it is; the limit of my painting skills.

Always fun to geek out with a fellow Smasher!
I have almost everything unlocked, but I'm missing one of the trophies. I have not been able to beat adventure on hard without continuing. The Crazy Hand is not mine!

Anyway. I posted this over in the Bar and Grill, but I think it's a damn good picture of me, so...

LA (from last thread) - a thousand pardons for not mentioning your picture, I had meant to do it in an e-mail and it never got written. Thanks for the shot of your pretty face, though you tease us all by hiding your eyes in it.

Hobbleit - I like the dress too. Shiny! And may I say that you look damn good in it?

Rose-doll - I do indeed like the shirt, even though it is photoshopped (wouldn't that make you as big as or almost as big as a geek as him? )

Now, on to the JimiWisconsin pictures:

This lake was frozen over, and had snow and snowmobiles and ice fishers on it. It was my first time walking on a lake that was totally frozen over.

We walked through the woods in the snow, and these deer ran out in front of us. We managed to get within 10 yards of so of them.

Me and Sam (MrsCobb) atop a tower overviewing the lake.

Her lovely head and a funny business sign.

A couple of shots of us.

A couple of shots of my re-arranged living room, as well as a shot of my birthday loot sans CDs and 5th season of 24, and my with my new evil pirate ducky.

As is most usual for me I have no new pix to share, I come with an excuse this time. Camera fell down and went boom. New one in the works but not yet. So I'll do my best Mr. Into the Blackwell and comment on what I see. (Actually I don't have anything snarky, not even for my precious HK)

I think a photoshopped t-shirt should considerably up your Geek-Q, PR. Love the sweet expression on your face though, devoid of even the slightest hint of mischief that I can usually detect there.

So when you were out on the ice, did you have the benefit of the "full effect"? As when the waves 'neath the ice crest and trough with an enormous but oddly cuhsioned thump under your feet, like the footfall of a not-so-very-distant Gojira lumbering toward you?

Li'l Alba, like RIMG, I...am...transfixed...

Did you see King Arthur where they were crossing the ice and it was cracking up? There is this huge "Whump!" sound and you can hear the ice crackle in response, deep and low, like the muffled sound of the Titanic breaking in half. It's kind of disconcerting.

Okay now I'm confused again.
*slightly serious meander from point*
Awhile ago you set me straight that you and PR are more properly Pagan as opposed to Wiccan, which I get, even though there have been clear Wiccan references from PR and I believe you too. I'm good with that. If I said I was "Christian" I wouldn't necessarily want to be refered to as "Catholic" or "Baptist", "Presbyterian" or "Lutheran" although I may hold beliefs unique to each in my own practice. Which I ain't got, but just sayin'.

Is a Witch a broader statement than a Wiccan? Can you be a Pagan Witch and not be Wiccan? I'm not looking to convert--albeit I feel a stronger kinship with youse guys than some other belief systems I've encountered--just curious is all. PR feel free to chime in. This ain't addressed solely to LA29, but she brought it up...

JQ - Witch and Pagan are broader terms that don't restrict us to one path alone.Wicca is a specific path that has it's own specific rules and rituals to follow. While we might adopt some Wiccan ideals, we aren't actual Wiccans. We both are more eclectic - hence the use of witch or pagan.
We both are also Saggitarius' and share a passion for the fire element - hence the fire-witches.

It always strikes me funny that in a non-organized religion like Paganism there are as many denominations as our more organized counterparts

Has that helped at all JQ ?

Greatly! My thanks, Lady Albatross. So I wasn't completely out of line calling you a Wicca way back when; just a little. Does being an eclectic water elemental make me a wet blanket?

Looks like I missed the whole discussion! Ah well, I can trust my Albatross to put things very well.
I should say that, in many cases, astrological sign doesn't seem to signify what element a witch feels in tune with/draws power from; I've know several Aquarious water witches (yes Aquarious is the water-bearer but is technically an air sign) and that sort of thing. I do happen to be fire in both Astrology and Ayurveda, but in acupuncture I'm considered to be wood. But I draw stength and peace from flame, and have a lot of affinity with the colors red and gold. So, yeah, firewitch. And no, not Wiccan, because I'm not in a coven or any of all that.
As for that comment waaay back when, it was only out of line for you to assume that the... issues we were having with Creepy Morbid Homosapien had anything to do with our spiritual practice rather than just our own opinions.

But I've heard of "solitary" witches...and I bet you, like me, have never found a coven (church) in sync with your personal beliefs, yes? No such thing as a melting pot for diversity. Okay, I'm dangerously close to bad punning and will stop now.

(As for that comment waaay back when, it was only out of line for you to assume that the... issues we were having with Creepy Morbid Homosapien had anything to do with our spiritual practice rather than just our own opinions.

I remember when. Yes. But I still think the "do no harm" thing should extend beyond just magick. But I claim first class igorance there. And really never wished to offend by my other thoughts.

*snort* "Creepy Morbid Homosapien" Ever consider becoming a diplomat? >snikker< I think even he would appreciate that one.

TRISTAN

Been away for a spell, missed a few photos.

Hobbleit, that dress is very shiny! And I agree with RIMG...you look very good in it!

And RIMG....damn....Wisconsin sure does have some snow!

LA29...I rarely type this out, but OMG! Those eyes! Damn, girl! Wow!

And then we get into the Pagan/Wiccan/Witch talk again....

Followed by a very sweey-looking ride! Wratchit, that is one beautiful looking Mustang! And you are standing next to one of my dream cars! Ok, not the General Lee specifically, but the 1970 Charger. I actually had a '71 up until last year...
Thank you for sharing those.

And hey, there, qing ren! Beautiful, you are!
And you have the mermaid with you, I see!

All I have is the 76th Independent Battalion's version of a ninja....

We are a sneaky lot...yes we are....

But, there are other schools of thought:

And we've missed you. Good to have you back even if it might be for a short spell. Hope it's a longer one...

Sorry, my bad. I'm a student of the world and the netherworld, what can I say. If there's knowledge I don't possess, I must acquire it.

Don't apologize, Jonny. I personally very much appreciate your openess to things you don't understand. The world would be a better place if more people tried to expand their horizons, instead of just going '"Yeah, sure, whatever" *smile and nod*' like many, many people I have know in my life.

Thank you, JQ.
Ocassionally, I am a pirate (shamelessly stealing that from Seryn, by the way).

Your Morgan should be relatively safe. Should be. We'll try to keep our hands off of it.

Don't apologize, I understand. Just that religion is a discussion that always seems to pop up in unexpected places. I do not begrudge your quest to learn all. Might want to get a few more sources of input, though. Try PaganPaul (if he is still around)...very cool guy and very easy to chat with.

PR, this is me smiling and nodding and saying "Sure, whatever"...and moving on.

My brother had one when we were teenagers. He *ahem* got rid of it just before I got my liscense. Booo!
Hm. That happened a lot with the muscle cars he and my dad rebuilt... I call conspiracy!

Can't speak for Colonel Tightpants there, but you will not hear me when I sneak. You'll never even see me coming.
