Scrubbed the tub (hard water sucks) and spent 2 1/2 hours backing/washing dishes/ etc. Considering it a workout as now the back is sore... *sigh*

Did roughly 2 hours of Tai Chi (24 step contemporary) and Hsing-I practice (wu hsing and chong hap), immediately followed by a little over 3 hours of Arnis practice (footwork w/ hitting).
Walked (trudged?) around 20 minutes to commute home; noontime sun was hot.
Hands, feet and neck are now sore.

You were busy trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

Some biking, some weights - same old, same old - except for I went up in weight on a couple of machines. It may be a little progress, but it's good progress!

More cleaning today. This time about 2 hrs of washing pretty much everything usable in the kitchen. Back sore, really tired. Hopefully, I'll be able to do some cardio tomorrow *sigh*

EDIT: Wow, look at the collective thinking just now! Time of last 3 posts 17:01, 17:03 and 17:04! Weird.

Usual yoga in am then an hr of combat conditioning in pm.

Hey, SigmaNunki, your house must be spanky clean by now. Cleaning does burn those calories.

About a 1/2 hr walk about today with more cleaning. Too much in fact. Pretty much generated by everything I did today going wrong i.e. I believe I was gods kickball today.

@Siri:

It's getting there. I'm pretty much playing catch-up e.g. even though the bathtub gets its weekly cleaning, it still got (what I believe are) hard water stains. It's a lot better, but still needs work (1-3 soakings will probably do it, then there's the tiles...). Then there's the re-organization that I've been doing so I actually have room to do things. But that's almost done.

A couple more days should make everything come together. Though, I'm not sure where those days will fall.

@FlatTop:
"""

I did it the opposite way i.e. I decreased sweets first. I'm still struggling with the activity part of things though.

If I might make a suggestion about the sweets. What I've done for snacks periodically lately, is make Focaccia bread. Using Balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil for dipping will give a variable kick of flavour depending on how much you soak the bread It freezes well, so spending a little bit on the week end will yield a fair amount of snacks during the week. Not to mention that kneading dough is a workout in and of itself.

If fact, looking up the proper spelling for Balsamic gave its wikipedia entry which had a link to a desert Panna Cotta. Me thinks I have an experiment for tomorrow

Basically, what I've found is that if I limit the bulk of my sweets, etc to what I make myself, I tend to eat less. Not to mention that the stuff people make themselves is probably going to be far more healthy than what is found in stores.

At any rate, just a suggestion as it has helped me. And even if you're not cooking inclined, you're still doing great work! Keep it up

Got in 1 1/2 - 2 hrs of walking today (including a trip to buy some kitchen toys ). More organizing last night which will probably be finished sometime tomorrow night (ran out of some cleaning supplies).

Also, I looked up some recipes for Panna Cotta, decided on one and it's in the fridge right now. Won't be ready for a couple hours yet. So, about an hour preping/cooking/washing/etc with some annoying washing (ing stickers at the bottom of those ramekin dishes ). Next time it should take less than 1/2 hr to get done though. I'll let people know how it goes

Did some early morning yoga then an hour of combat conditioning class.

Taught 2 hr long yoga classes last night but didn't log in when I got home.

I like the focaccia bread with olive oil & vinegar idea. You can buy whole wheat focaccia crust (I use it for pizza) which would add the whole grain. Can't remember the name of the brand. I'm going to try that. While I don't eat lots of sweets I do enjoy my dark chocolate. What's pana cotta?

Thanks for sharing ideas.

Buying!?!?!?

The only problem with Balsamic Vinegar is that it fry's my tongue. IMO it's worth it though

I've seen some herb dipping's as well if anyone doesn't like Balsamic Vinegar.

Dark chocolate is actually quite nutritious.

Found this when I looked up the spelling of Balsamic through Google and clicked on Balsamic Vinegar's wikipedia page in the results (i.e. my curiosity found it ).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panna_cotta

My recipe didn't go well though. I'm giving it another try today or tomorrow.

So, the first Panna Cotta batch was a bust. I couldn't find agar-agar so I converted the amount to gelatin. Well I converted wrong.

For the second batch I was able to find agar-agar. But, the amount given in the recipe wasn't enough to give a stiffness so that the Panna Cotta was able to maintain its shape when out of the ramekin dish.

But, the wife gave it a go anyway. Her comment was, if I keep making them, she'd get fat. So, I guess that's pretty good. This is the recipe I'm using if people want to try it themselves (it's very simple and vegetarian friendly):

Anyway, tomorrow I've got to get some more supplies for my third attempt. I'm going to increase the amount of agar-agar... we'll see what happens.

Anyway, thought I'd not make the new thread late this week. So, I'm making it early (while I still remember).
