GOTTHAMMER

Forgot to post 'progress' yesterday as I practically dropped to sleep when I got home.

Yesterday:
Tai Chi (24 and some traditional) and Arnis, maybe a total of 2 hours. Also did a fair amount of stretching and cardio (some running, some futsal-with-a-volleyball, and some basketball), followed by a 20 or so minute walk to commute home.

Today:
About an hour's worth of Tai Chi practice. Learned how to roll (ouch...lotsa mistakes. That and I did more rolling than Tai Chi, I think). Some stretching. 20+ minute walk to commute under hot, noontime sun.

Didn't get to post last night (too tired to wait for my turn on the PC).
Yesterday:
Some Tai Chi, about an hour's worth of Yoga, and about 2 hours worth of Arnis. Lots of stretching and some cardio.
I got to spar once for Arnis, and got winded (haven't sparred in at least 2 or 3 years, so I guess I'm no longer used to how to do stuff in armor). I think I overexerted, especially in regards to footwork (coz' now my legs hurt...while I was stretching most of the day, I think I was only able to thoroughly stretch the upper body before the sparring, and neglected my legs). I lost the match, of course.
Fortunately, the armor took most of the hits and I only have one bruise (a negligible one at that).
That's followed by a 20 or so minute walk to commute.
Stuff that hurt:
right/left biceps, right shoulder, neck, both legs (area between calves and hamstrings, behind knees...must have been the lunging . Feet kinda hurt, too. Then again, I tend to walk a lot and there was a short run yesterday)

Yesterday was about an 1 1/2 - 2 hr walk about. Today was 3 hours.

The result besides exercise was a couple new toys. I'm thinking that some Wii-lympics is going to provide some exercise (and fun!)

@GottHammer:

I think you just might have earned a little break for yourself

YINYANG

You were busy trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

Tuesday, the usual. We took a break today because my dad spent the bulk of his morning wrestling our computer, which until ~1 pm wouldn't boot up.

Yup! A break it is for me ('til monday, at least...unless I feel up to internal arts practice tomorrow, should it be available).

Still, I think I'll go out and watch Arnis varsity practice today.

Got in some Wii Sports. I'm surprised that I'm actually a little sore. So, I think I got a bit of a work out over the past couple days. Then again, it could be the moving of furniture to make room for everything... *shrugs*

Yoga in the am then Combat Conditioning class later in the morning.

Looking into NIA. Took a few classes but had trouble finding a teacher. Thinking about doing the training as I liked it a lot and would love to learn and be able to teach it. Any of you had experience with NIA?

Hoping this doesn't double-post. My pc is acting kind of funky.

Made it to Kickboxing this am.

NIA is an abbreviation for Neuromuscular Integrative Action. It's a fusion of dance, martial arts and yoga. The focus is on listening to the body, incorporates martial arts moves, feldenkras and yoga. There are 5 belt levels. It includes free form movement and goes from flow to aerobic depending on the level and experience.

Hmm, looks interesting. I'd leave further judgement 'til I see an actual session (which I doubt will be anytime soon, as the nianow.com site doesn't list anyone teaching it here in the Philippines).

That and I guess I'm a bit of the purist, in that I'd rather study the 'core'/'source' arts (such as Tai Chi or Yoga), before taking up something which attempts to integrate them. And this isn't because I'm a 'traditionalist' (in the stiff sense of the word): while we practice traditional methods, I'd like to think that me and those I practice with are quite open minded. Personal preference, I guess...

Though I think I'd like to learn at least one dance soon...

Today:
Stretching, some cardio, some suburi with my ironwood (kamagong) bokken, and basic triangle for arnis. I think I did this for about an hour.
