Yes, it was time for a new floor!

Did anybody else learn the finger trick to remembering your nine times tables? You hold out your 10 fingers. 9 x 1=9, so hold down your first finger. There are nine left on the other side. 9 x 2=18, so, hold down your second finger. You have 1 on the left side and 8 on the right. 18. If you do that all the way across, it'll always give you the right answer. For example, for 9 x 6, if you hold down the 6th finger (being the right thumb) low and behold, you get 54! Being, of course, the correct answer.

And this is the 42nd floor, in which we may find the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything. If only we can remember the right question!

When I get a moment, I'll gather up the chapters to our book in progress! We're halfway there!

Pancakes, baby! Um, "flapjacks", I believe, for the fine Amerifolk. Smothered in Grade 'A' Québec maple syrup. With a slice or ten of strip bacon. And a fresh kiwi on the side, sliced. To drink: fresh squeezed orange juice, and authentic French hazelnut & vanilla coffee, just milk, no sugar.

I wonder how much platinum kiwi fruit would fetch on the open market on the Rim planets in the Firefly 'verse, eh?

Hi! I going to have to agree with you. It all sounds good, but pass on the bacon, It clogs the arteries. I'm thinking of cracked wheat pancakes topped with berries, strawberries, razberries, blackberries, and of course (you can't get enough antioxidants) blueberries.

I love blueberry pancakes. My grandfather used to make the best ones for us, wtih blueberries we'd pick ourselves. And whole wheat and maybe some pecans in the batter. mmmmm.

And I love sliced bananas on top of my pancakes. They're especially good if you warm them up in the maple syrup.

Really, a couple of scrambled eggs (lightly peppered), a couple of patties of sausage for dipping into the hot pure maple syrup running over the edges of a couple of pancakes.. Can't go wrong.
And lots of ice cold water.

I like toast.

ok, if we have to wax lyrical, i like thick cut wholemeal toast, bit (this is the decadent bit) salty butter put on while it was really hot and melted in, with either lemon curd or raspberry jam on top.
And a cup of tea (rooibos with a bit of milk - no need for sugar as it doesn't have that nasty after tang)

I do remember that thing with the fingers - sadly can never remember to use it when needed. Like all the other trickd I learned - can you beleive i'll be 26 soon and i don't know my times table by heart?

But you know what i'll be 26 soon and never once in those years have I needed them... I've never to my knowledge needed algebra or trigonometry either... Math teachers lie!

Ah, More chapters -

Chapter 58: Resisting the Krispey Kremes
Chapter 59: That Goth Band Stand

Isn't sanity really a one trick pony, anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazy...ooh hoo hoo hoo... the skys the limit!

lol, nice brother ;p Well, I DESPISE eggs (unless they're in cake batter or something ;D), don't like sausage, and think pancakes are "ok." I like maple syrup, but any time I smell maple and it isn't morning, I feel sick for some reason (the mind's a powerful thing, eh?).

Well ain't this fantastic? Seems something is going spectacularly wrong with some DNS's somewhere, so despite having a perfectly good internet connection I can't log on to any websites unless I know they're ip address (which is how I'm here, I know fff.net is 168.215.229.9).

It seems MSN and Yahoo IM's need to use the DNS to resolve IP addresses too so I can't log on to those either. Very much not with the happy.

I got a free printer from Epson a little while back. What it ended up costing me in Ink I could have bought a better more economical printer. I wish I'd just sold it to be honest.

Anyway, just saw a mortgage adviser and spoke to another guy who was organising the mortgage for someone else who wanted to buy the place, but it fell through. So some issues have come up, involving the flat and the mortgage. If this falls through I'm going to stop looking, I've had enough of this crap.

Yeah, the ink is ridiculous, and you can't recycle the cartidges. That makes me grouchy. But I rarely use my home printer, so it's not a huge cost.

This is ridiculous! What is wrong with people in the UK? I'm told the market's crazy, because people are buying houses for the 2012 olympics, but this is beyond madness.

If this doesn't work, are you going to rent for a bit?

Wouldn't surprise me, the house prices are getting pushed up all over by rich bastards buying second and third homes with their ill gotten gains and buy to let companies, pricing people like me out the market. Soon there'll be no such thing as home owners, there'll be the rich and renters, Marx was wrong about the solution but he was sure as hell right about the problem.

No, I'm not going to rent I think, renting costs nearly as much as buying and you're just throwing that money away. Least when you buy you have a few bricks more to your name everytime the bank takes you're money, when you rent you've dodged the eviction for another month and that's it. If I rent I'll have virtually no money to set aside for a deposit, so really I'll just be making myself worse off. Where I am now I still pay some rent but not much, maybe if I can get a better paid job people will be more willing to give me money. The thing is though I've seen the figures for the mortgages I 'don't earn enough' for. I could make the monthly repayments easilly, do bankers base their figures on thier own extravagant lifestyles or something? You need enough of your money left over to afford silk cod pieces, caviar and anal bleaching.

They're all a gaggle of bastards.

Somebody is not having a good day.

We're having the same problem in America. The middle class is all but disappearing. You can't afford anything unless you're a two income family and the gap between the rich and the poor just keeps stretching. It is definitely not good.

Oh, I remember from history class the collapse of the middle class is a sign of the collapse of a society. It happened to the Romans.
