Ahhh, a little prog rock to cool things down (in a total non-literal level, it's freezing here.)

No such thing as gravity. The "Earth-that-was" just sucks.

...also.. I would'nt mind being strapped to a table and tortured by Dr. Mengele for 9-10 years while listening to an endless loop of Abba's "Dancing Queen".. versus some "non-classic" tunes I've seen listed here.

That's cool you kept your mix tapes, Brenda. It appears that I lost or got rid of all of mine over the years.

Just a few weeks ago I was digging around for a tape I was sure I still had in the stuff that has survived two dehoardings since I moved here, but it doesn't appear that I have it anymore.

I did find two old cassette tapes that haven't been played in maybe 30 years. I brought my crappy old sony boombox work radio out of the garage and tried my best to play what I could from them. The controls of the box were so sticky that I couldn't even fully rewind/fast forward those tapes from front to back. The audio was seriously degraded on both tapes too, but one of the two decks played the sound better, so I don't know how many of the problems I can blame on the tapes or the boombox itself.

They appear to be tapes that I made off the radio back in my Junior High days (7th and 8th grade, if Junior High doesn't mean the same thing in Canada).

Yanno... those tapes where you were trying to get that one song on the radio that they played all the time but you always missed, so you resorted to just recording an hour at a time in hopes they'd actually play it so you finally had the whole thing on tape.

Even though I didn't find what I was looking for that was a neat little nostalgia trip.

Yeah, I kept all of mine. I would be lost without them. I made over 50 of them and play them every so often. They got all my favourites on them from when I was in the 8th grade and up. *L*

Yeah, Junior High doesn't apply in Canada. Not even today.

Oh, I remember doing that. Think I still have some things from off the radio on those tapes. They can be a trip for sure.
