Well I really liked it a lot. I did think it has 1 too many villains but that was hardly Sam's fault as the studio forced Venom on him and I think he did an admirable job juggling so many different story lines. Also, the action was great and there are some fantastic comic moments. Overall I thought it was a really good movie. What did you think?

I hated it. Course I didn't like 2 either. I was a bit disappointed in the "Harry" thing - that was way too easy. I thought the effects were fantastic, but there were parts that the whole audience was laughing at - and they weren't funny parts. You know the ones I mean, pretty much anytime someone was sad or crying.

It was ok. The effects were good but overall, I'd give it a B. Maybe.

It definitely needed to end with the funeral and save the 'reunion' for another film.

I only saw half of it because I went to the movie theater on a whim. What I did see I liked, but I will have to see the whole thing to have an opinion.

It was good but worth seeing but not good enough. I felt much like I did after Superman Returns. I liked it I don't think I'll but the DVD. I've seen it and that was good enough.

it was ok, there was one scene where it really showed why Toby will NEVER play batman, (can't brood worth a shit),

Select to view spoiler:

and the fight with harry in his "secret goblin lair/lab" when he catches the bomb, throws it right back, keeps on walking, gave me a definate Mal/Angel Flash.

also, If any one here is familiar with SPAWN, and has seen Spidey 3, correct me if i am wrong, but doesn't this movie, and the way they animated the venom symbiote, really solidify that during this run of the book, is when McFarlane really hashed out his ideas for Spawn (Todd McFarlane DID work for Marvel at that time, and on spidey)
also when they finally get around to making the better SPAWN movie, the effects house, need to so contact the folks who did Venom.

the end.

oh, and i'll probably end up buying the dvd, if for no other reason than i already bought 1&2, and i'm just anal enough to have to have to complete the collection.

I was really enjoying the film, was finding it wryly funny, the action scenes were great, I was intrigued by the new characters and all that stuff. And, then

Select to view spoiler:

the scene on the bridge with Mary-Jane and Peter happened

It was meant to be such an emotional scene yet I couldn't stop giggling. Then, it all went downhill from there for me. Peter Parker's emo fringe, the final battle, the obligatory "elderly person summarising the situation sooo slowly", all the emotional moments just washed over me without striking a chord. My favourite film of the series is still Spiderman 1 and if the rest of the franchise is like this, it will always be my favourite.

Roll on the next Batman film is what I say

I thought it was enjoyable but definitely had problems. Too many villains. Odd plotting at points, perhaps due to editing.

Select to view spoiler:

What the heck is with Sandman's character? "I accidentally killed someone. Rather than rob a bank in a different city I'm going to kill Spider-man. To do so I'm going to kidnap and kill an innocent woman. Oh wait, the evil alien spider-thing died, I'm not going to kill Spider-man after all."

That final scene with Sandman, what was Peter thinking? Best friend dying, and with all the commotion there's probably an ambulance waiting in the crowd, but Hey Marko, wanna chat? What, get Harry some help and track you down later? Nahhhh.

Is any guy dumb enough to re-enact a special moment with another women, publicly, with his girlfriend in the audience? He's planning on proposing to MJ, but hey, plant one on me Gwen.

The ending: he's beaten up the bouncers and attacked one of the singer/waitresses, but isn't banned from the club. (And I don't think that last song was jazz, but that's really nitpicky.)

Was Harry's amnesia really even necessary? Seemed contrived to me.

The following might have been homages to other movies but I found them distracting:

Peter's "Little Nicky" bad-boy haircut.
Harry's "Back to the Future" boogie-board (really feel this was just done for marketing).
The "Mummy"-like effects of the Sandman (quick, call Brendan Fraser!)

Don't think it was a waste of my money, but even though I'd lowered my expectations after hearing some bad reviews I was still a bit disappointed.

Just read today that the studio has signed on for 3 more sequels. You know what I'd like to see in the next one, more of the girl living across the hallway from Peter. Her character I find interesting.

He had Hitler hair! Giggle snort!

That movie was sooooo bad. The entire audience was alughing at all the supposedly sad parts. Pathetic! And they are making millions of dollars! WTF!

NEEDY

The road to Hel is paved with good intentions

Well I'm gonna stick out like a sore thumb but I absolutely loved it. Every minute of it.
I'm a big Spidey fan (I'm one of those that loved the first more than the 2nd - its an origin story!!!)

People say it had too many villains but I think my biggest issue with Spidey 2 was it took too long to get going storywise. The third had so much going on (in a good way) that there was never a dull moment. And I dont think it suffered as a result.
Yes it didnt spend as long developing the villains as the other two, but 1) Harry has had two movies of back story - he didnt need any more 2) Sandman had enough good scenes (such as sandman's first rising) to really sell the character and make you feel for him and 3) Venom has never been the deepest character - the humiliation of Eddie Brock combined with the dark side the symbiote brings out in its host is enough to understand the character

So no, dont think the characters suffered
The movie was nicely paced. Had some great action scenes (the special effects were amazing - I was in awe over the scene where Sandman begins to form), lots of humour (the dancing in the street had me in stitches) and more-importantly it had heart which, lets face it, without it'd jsut be another special effects movie.

So yeah, really loved it.
Got a 10/10 from me. I saw it opening night and even though I was more excited over this film than I have been over a film for a long time, I wasn't disappointed.
In fact even though it was over 2 hours long, I didnt want it to end.

Oh and I saw it again on the Sunday - just as good.

I WILL be getting it on DVD as soon as it comes out

I've seen the movie twice now, because a friend of mine had passes, and I liked it OK the first time, but the second there were some glaringly BAD acting scenes that totally took me out of the movie. Basically, any scene that had a crowd in it, especially the big "we love Spidey" scene, the extras were so bad I heard groans from the audience both times. I did not see it, but my friend told me that he saw a camcorder being grabbed on film from an extra in one scene. I'll wait for the DVD and see if that is there. I like that action, but with so many villians and stories in one movie, they all suffered from a lack of screen time. Each one of those storylines could have been a major part of a movie by themselves.

One thing they got perfectly: the attitude of the Broadway company. Anyone who has worked in theater or the arts, even in a smaller venue, has seen that exact posturing and ego. Both times I saw that scene, I heard Jayne in my head say, "Boy, it would be great if we had some GRENADES, don't ya think?"

So who is he?
He's my husband.
Well who in the damn galaxy ain't!
