for me it was the Caleb squelching out Xander's eye thing. I screamed so loud when I saw it people thought I was dieing! if someone were to make a Caleb action figure with a goobered eyeball accessory, I would save up for it. I also couldn't stomach the bit from Smile Time where the puppet is using a human as a puppet yukk!

For me, Fred's death scene. "Why can't I stay?" just kills me every time.

Wouldn't really call it a scene, but more of an image. It's the image of Joyce sprawled out on the couch completely pale and with a completely blank look on her face. As soon as you saw it in the final moments of "I Was Made To Love You" and then transition into "The Body", you knew something was really wrong that no amount of fighting or magic could fix.

"And it starts with a sentence that might last a lifetime, or it all might just go down in flames. If I let you know me, then why would you want me? Each day I don't is a shame. Each day I don't is a great shame."

"No power in the 'verse can stop me!"

Ditto on the Joyce thing... I remember feeling the blood drain from my face when I realised her mother was gone - and it was indisputible... there is no turning back from that! I also think the yuckiest, goriest was when Caleb removed Xanders eyeball... shock and horror and nausea for me!

I also think the moment when the gentlemen entered the girls bedroom and she couldn't scream and they were smiling those weird smiles and I just had flashbacks to my nightmares was the worst feeling... I felt cold and helpless, I mean I try so hard to tell myself that if I can't scream when I really, really need to, then I am dreaming... but my mind doesn't always get the message!

That was icky!

Eek! that same scene from Hush, made me hit my head on my bed post. and I was twitchy for days after that episode!(it's a Tourettic thing) the Caleb eyeball thing always makes me squeal and squirm.no matter how many times I watch it. I even named our nicest rooster Caleb to kind of cutify the character...no such luck.

Caleb was always the scariest villain for me, and I think it's down to the fact that he's human. Part of you can just dismiss the monsters, because they aren't usual. But a freaky serial killer on a mission from God? Turn on the tv and they are out there.

SPIKESSERENITY

I've actually got two. The first is when Warren accidentally shoots Tara. I cried like a baby, but she was one of my favorite characters. The second is when Spike is in the church (Beneath You/Season 7) and he is giving Buffy his cryptic "it burns" speech before draping himself over the cross. Guh!

Inara slumped on the floor sobbing her heart out always makes me want to jump into that episode and beat the crap out of Mal! threw my balled up socks at his face on the screen! ...Admittedly I have had my heart crushed in the same way, except in my case the "good friend" that slept with my almost other half was not such a sweetheart. she convinced him I wasn't interested before they....

I gotta agree with you on that one. Amy Acker was heartbreaking in that scene, and you really felt Wes' pain!

I'd given some thought to movin' off the edge -- not an ideal location -- thinkin' a place in the middle.

The one that bothered me was seeing Anya almost cut in half in the final Buffy episode.

I know. Of all the people that died at the end of the series, THAT was the one that really bothered me. Anya was without a doubt my most favorite character of the series.

I'm just hoping that maybe in the comics, she could pop up as a ghost to torment Xander when he finally starts dating. She's too good a character to waste.

The burial scene at the end of "The Message". I cry every time because it's my worst fear to bury someone I've known who is still so young.

it does suck immensely to attend the funeral of a young person that died needlessly.

Very true! There is this one film I saw recently (I've seen a lot lately, so they're all a blur right now) where one character was explaining that the scariest monsters in the world were human beings. (Maybe it was Zodiac. I can't remember.) Sometimes they are even your neighbors. That's why characters like Michael Myers and Norman Bates are horror legends.
