And of course all of you lovely hidey people.

For me, sex and food don't mix, at all (well, ok...maybe whipped cream ;D).

Thankful for...well, a lot of things, really, things that I don't think about every day. I have a place to sleep. Sure, it's not the greatest place, but it's better than some people have. I have a job that affords me some time to goof off. Sure, it's really stressful sometimes, and staffing and departmental issues are pretty bad, but overall it's a good job that gets me enough money for a place to stay and food to eat, etc.

I'm thankful for a good girl in my life. I'm thankful for caring parents. I'm happy that, despite the writers' strike (which I support), Lost and BSG are still alive, even though scheduling is going to get wonky.

Things I'd like to be thankful for in the future: having enough time in my day to relax or play a video game or have time for a real-life friend (no slight to you guys) to hang out with, and I'd love to be thankful for another Firefly film.

I'm thankful for far too many things to list here. Mostly good people who do the right thing despite how hard or unappreciated it can be. Good people with twisted senses of humour.

Yay! Congratulations LMD. That's great news.

As for being greatful, I know I'm probably going to be hunted down and all that, but I'm greatful that Firefly was cancelled. Really. If it hadn't been cancelled then there might not have been a movie (at least not for years down the road) and if there hadn't been a movie then there never would have been the NCBDMPP where I first met some of the greatest Browncoats in the 'verse. Plus, I would have been less likely to go to D*C and that really would have sucked. A lot.
Am I rambling yet? That's cause its almost 5am and sleep is evil. Anyway, that's why I'm greatful that Firefly didn't last any longer than it did. You may shoot me now if you wish.

Anybody wanna come to my place and rake some leaves? Seriously, you can even jump in the piles afterward. I can make hot coco if you'd like. Anybody? I'm a city boy - as far as I'm concerned leaves should be the park district's problem.

Saw that. Yes it is good stuff. Does a good job not only explaining the reasonableness of the WGA's position but also how it is ultimately in the studios' best interests to accept the terms. Without the writers there are no shows. Except Survivor but even the most ardent fans of Bikini Machiavellianism aren't going to watch 15 hours a week of it.

Well it was cold and windy and the tree that all the leaves are from is only about half shed so I'll have to do it again in a week or so - undoubtedly when it is colder and windier. Plus I was coming down with a cold at the time though that wasn't immediately obvious yesterday.

You say that now but after 15 hours of it you'd change your tune. If for no other reason that they hand pick their conestants to provide maximum entertainment potential. More shows means lower standards on contestant entertainment value means more boring shows. They could mostly get around that limitation if they had somebody to write the lines for them....

Other notes:

Head cold: Day 3 - I have become a phlegm factory. The global kleenex shortage? Facial tissue futures prices skyrocketing on the big board? Tanker stockpiles of pseudo-pseudoephedrine reaching an all time low? All my fault.

Listen up folks. It's only a matter of time before somebody hopped up on the next generation of performance enhancing drugs blows Barry's records away. It's not that big a deal. Stop worrying about useless stupid distractions. I'm talking to you CNN.

Around our household we've stopped serving the cranberry sauce. It would come out of it's can and sit on the plate untouched with the corrugation patterns still visible throughout the meal. Probably not because of any inherent nastiness of the food product itself as much as all of the other food items available for eatifying. Yams, I agree, can be nasty.
