Quote: The scene in the loft where he rams the guy with the motor cycle and the one where he uses a rolling clothes rack as a weapon were ideas Jacky used 10 years earlier.
Quote: I have a very hard time making a distinction between American martial arts films and Asian martial arts films

Quote:Originally posted by daveshayne: More gimmicky fighting. Also generally more tedious and frequently less important to the story.

Quote:It also help immensely if you see the Chinese cut, not the "Legend" one.
Quote:Drunken Master was funnier, and endlessly creative (as well being as a true classic), however, DM2 was just balls-out more frenetic & cool.

Each film seemed to have an old, blind guy with long white hair and matching beard. When the bad guys messed with him they were in for a bad time. A lot of the more entertaining films had characters who used very unusual weaponry.

How dare you use my tactics against me Yeah, okay, so the story in 2 wasn't all there, but the fights were so slick & well photographed.... I played the dubbed version (on dvd) of the original once, and boy was that unintentionally hi-larious. So many curses that were weirdly used. It was a different dub than the tape I'd owned for years...and that was already a funny dubbing.
