Decent flick, though a bit long. Felt like I was watching every minute of the 9 months....but I digress. Couldn't help but notice the Seth Rogan, Jason Segel, James Franco crowd..... Didn't they all basically get their 'start' on Freaks and Geeks . And if so, why isn't Linda Cardenelli in on their fun? Do they just not get along ? Or is their group more of a 'guys' club, and she's just gone her separate way ?

And I never watch ER, so that might answer my own question. Oh well.

NEEDY

The road to Hel is paved with good intentions

Oh yes, I loved this film
This (along with 40 year old virgin and forgetting sarah marshall) was produced by Judd Apatow, who worked on freaks and geeks, and if you'll notice the majority of the cast have found their way into his films
Like you said Linda cardellini seems to be the exception, so it might be that they don't get on (after all she and Jason Segel did date for a while and its rumored that his film Forgetting Sarah Marshall was inspired by his relationship with her)

Bill from Freaks is also in Knocked up (he's the guy with the terrorist beard )

I still say that the time is perfect for a Freaks and Geeks reunion movie, all the cast are farily big stars in their own right. It would be fantastic if we saw our favourite guys together again

Holy shite! I had no idea that was him! He looks a bit like Justin Long, imo, but I knew it wasn't him. Having just watched the how F&G series not long ago, I grew to like " Bill " more and more , toward the end of the series. At first, I thought he ( character and actor ) were both ill cast for the series, being the weak link of the show. By the end of the dvds, I had come around to kinda like the character a lot.

Watching Rogan and Segel on the various shows/movies, I can't help but imagine them as their old characters, all grown up now, and what that would be like. As F & G essentially took place at the same time I was in H.S., I'll always hold it as something special.

I liked 'Clerks 2', though I know some die hards weren't thrilled w/ it. I hope there'd be a Freaks and Geeks reunion show/ movie of some sort.

REGINAROADIE

Saw it almost a year ago and fell in love with it. It's right behind NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, ATONEMENT and GONE BABY GONE as the best movies of 2007 IMHO.

It's weird how Judd and Joss's careers and their style as storytellers are parallel in a few ways. They've both worked in the salt mines of network TV, work with the same actors over and over again, and have become pop-geek icons. The only real divergents is that Joss continues to work in TV, while Judd made the successful transition into movies.

As per Linda, I always thought ER kinda kept her away from being in Judd's work. But she still loves it. She did in fact do a commentary for the F&G DVD. And as for the whole "boys club" criticisms that Judd gets for his work, I always disagree with those, since I always saw KNOCKED UP as an equal opportunist love story. That the true genius of the film is that you can see the film from Ben's POV, then re-watch the movie from Alison's POV and they both work. The two character's arcs is parallel in a few ways. FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL for once made Mila Kunis charming instead of annoying. And on the 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN commentary, I loved when they talked about Catherine Keener actually calling them up and asking to be in the movie, which their first reaction was "Why do you want to be in our dumb little movie." And on the KNOCKED UP track, Judd sings the praises of Keener and Heigl for being these legitimate actresses that make all the guys stand up, suck in their guts and being their A game.

So that, as well as being able to capture the humor and pathos of real life in his work, will make me sing the praises for Judd and Kevin Smith until I'm blue in the face. Maybe even moreso than for Joss.

"And it starts with a sentence that might last a lifetime, or it all might just go down in flames. If I let you know me, then why would you want me? Each day I don't is a shame. Each day I don't is a great shame."
