Hey All

Time for another "favorites" thread here. Like all of you've I saw THE DARK KNIGHT and thought it was the best Batman movie EVER. And I think we can all agree that the interrogation room scene between Batman and The Joker was one of the highlights in that Batman has finally met his match and has no idea how to break him. That he just keeps pummeling the Joker and the Joker just laughs in his face. And it made me wonder about other really great interrogation room scenes in various movies and tv shows. I was just wondering what some of your favorites are.

One of my favorite movie interrogation scenes is in L.A. CONFIDENTIAl, where Ed Exley interrogates the three guys who are suspected in the Nite Owl killings. How with the first guy, you saw how Ed coolly and calmly gets under this guys skin while playing with a P.A. system to break the other two. How with the second guy, he finds out about the girl they raped and the sudden shift in tone that everyone feels, especially Bud. And then with the third guy, Bud literally snaps a chair, barges into the room, grabs the guy and starts an impromptu game of Russian roulette. "One in six, where's the girl!!!" And he goes through three clicks before he finally confesses.

Another one on TV that I love is in Day 2 of 24, where Nina comes back into CU and it's the first time Jack's seen her since she killed his wife. The tension is so thick you'd need a machete to cut through it. And you have no idea if Jack is interrogating her out of duty or vengeance, and he mentions that she's just a mercenary that has no real cause, so there's no reason for her to not cooperate. Shes says something, gives the slightest of smiles, and then Jack just explodes. Flips the table, shoves her to the wall and starts strangling her, as you see in the other window of the split screen George Mason running like Hell to get Jack out of there. And even though afterwards Jack explains that he only did that just to scare her, during the next few episodes, there's still a part of you that's wondering if he's doing this to find the nuke, or if he's just working an elaborate scheme of revenge.

So what are some of your favorite interrogation scenes?

For me it's gotta be the interrogation episodes of Babylon 5. Wonderfully acted and written, and really ended up being much deeper in meaning then the typically bad cop routine.

my "unfavourite" interrogation scene would have to be the one from "Midnight Express" where the vile turkish prison guard gets his tongue bitten off! Eugh! squirms a-plenty even though he thoroughly deserves that and much worse...I almost passed out the first and only time I watched that scene. I just can't deal with anything involving severed tongues or gouged out eyes.
