It's time to tell us what you're favorite annoying song is!

OOH! I've given my favourite obviously, but there's another one that is regrettably stuck in my head at the moment ...

Why would an annoying song be a favorite, or a favorite song be annoying?

Um . . . just a song that you like that others might find annoying? How's that? The one I posted a lot of people can't stand, but I happen to think it's quite unique and catchy.

My favorite "earworm" song is Lovefool by The Cardigans.

It's syrupy, saccharin-sweet, and the first time I heard it, I *knew* it was going to be stuck in my head for days.

A dozen years later, it still gets stuck in my head at odd times. I've learned to like the song, but it annoyed the hell out of me at first!

I don't even know the name of the annoying song stuck in my head. The kids at vacation care had this one pussycats doll song they kept overplaying on the karaoke machine until I read the lyrics and we decided to ban it (sometimes sensoring is necessary to protect kids from unnecessary porn elements). unfortunately the damage was already done and 5 weeks later it's still playing on a loop in my brain and I keep humming it. Aghh!

I get songs stuck in my head on a daily basis. I think it's because I'm a frustrated singer. And there's no rhyme or reason: it can be something popular of some odd thing I used to know/sing/hear twenty years ago. The latest is Loch Lomond. Yes, THAT Loch Lomond. I was browsing through a copy of "Rise Up Singing," the bible of traditional folk songs (with a great intro by Pete Seeger), and just READ it. And boom. Right in the head. Argh! Get it out! Get it out!

I woke up this morning with Bon Jovi's "Bad Medicine" stuck in my head - and it was there for HOURS! Horrible, horrible song. Never could stand him or his douchebag kind of "music". Haven't even heard the song in years and years, so how's it get stuck in my head?

For the last few days it's been whatever Michael Jackson song has been played on the radio in tribute that I have heard for a split second.

yes, that confused me - normally when people die they GO AWAY. No offence to Jacko, i'm sure he was just as great as every other grandeur deluded messed up pop star, but please dear and fluffy lord make it stop.

I have a range of songs that irritate me and they normally correspond quite closely to what is at the top of the charts or being used on too-oft' repeated adverts. But thankfully that group is vastly outnumbered by songs that I know very well, love to bits and can call to mind to drown out the aural irritant.

That being said, my favorite go-to song to annoy others is 'Get Out of my House' by Kate Bush - I have and infinite capacity for Kate Bush, but the bit where she starts braying like a donkey is usually too much for most people.

I'm currently jammed on a Three-Fer: Neil Diamond's Forever in Blue Jeans; Rita Coolidge's We're All Alone, and a vaudeville oldie called My Old Man Said Follow the Van, also known as " The Dilly-Dally Song". But at least I got rid of John Denver's Saturday Night in Toledo, Ohio...

There IS always the classic "Henry the VIII, I Am" by Herman's Hermits.

Keep singin' this over and over and over and over can really drive people batty.

The last time I went to Cedar Point (for those that don't know, it's an amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio) I ate at this restaurant called Johnny Rockets. Every five minutes or so (and I do mean every five) they would play "Love Shack" by The B-52s. Now I like that song a lot, but I couldn't listen to it for years afterwards. Thankfully, now it's okay to listen to again.

LWAVES

I've got to think a little longer about a fave song of mine that others may find annoying, but I have one that I find really annoying, especially as Radio 2 insists on playing it within 15 mins of me switching on the radio every day.
It is: Whitney Houston's How Will I Know.
After that it takes a mighty song to get it out of my head.

Now I don't like her music (I know a lot of people do) but the station could at least play another of her songs. She had more than one hit.

I love The Safety Dane song. Perfect cheesey record.

Well, at least it's not "I Will Always Love You"... be grateful for small mercies.

"Ceremony" by Joy Division.

It keeps coming up in an Absolut Vodka ad, and it gets stuck in my head.

Actually, I think they're using the New Order version, which is in a slightly higher register. Still, same song, almost the same band...

It's stuck in my head now, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
