Awwww, definitely the cutest lil Kaylee! Well, not counting the squeezable lil baby Kaylee at last yr's D*C.

HK, very pretty place! Reminds me of going to the Renaissance Fest. and wandering the booths.

Last week my bro in law found 6 abandoned 4 week old kittens. We decided to take one and hold on to two more for my bro and sis in law while they are on vacation. Prepare yourselves, CUTENESS WARNING!!

The 3 lil monsters. Don't let the faces fool you:

I thought lil Kaylee was from last year's con - was she (or a different one) there this year too?

That would have been tricky if I'd encountered her this year... would have put a wrench in my mission to get photos with every Kaylee given the text on my shirt. Perhaps I'd have needed to be turned around backwards so only the picture was showing...

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Haaa, those are great And no stretching on my end.

Okay, so what you are about to see is... well, I'm not sure what the short version would be. Y'see, I was contacted several months ago about doing some design stuff for a Browncoat group. I couldn't help them with what they initially asked about, what with time restrictions, but when it was mentioned that they were wanting labels for some Firefly-inspired tea, I got pretty excited at the idea. I love tea, I love Firefly, I love design, seemed like a good idea all-around. I came up with a couple labels and emailed them off. While waiting for a response I happily designed several more.
Well, I never got a response.
Email again. No response.
Email again. No response.
Email again, sans attachment. No response.
Frustrated. Email again, sans attachment. Response is that nothing else, apparently, has gotten through.
Very frustrated. Email request for alternate email that may be better equipped to receive attachments. No response.
Resend. No response.
Resend. No response.
Resend one with attachments, one requesting alternate email. No response.
Tearfully, sobbingly frustrated. Rinse and repeat.
So, right before DragonCon, I sent one last email, with all new subject line, asking for any kind of acknowledgment. Anything. Even a "We're actually not interested, stop bothering us." Nothing.
Here we come to the crux of the matter. All in all, I'm very proud of what I came up with for this tea. I would like it to see the light of day. So. I'm going to float small versions of my designs onto this, my beloved Firefly forum. At least this way I can know that some fans will see them, maybe like them. And maybe the parties who originally brought the whole idea to the table will finally see and/or acknowledge what I've done. Maybe not. I'm beyond caring at this point. Yeah, I would like to see something I did be in actual print, maybe generating actual revenue, but mostly I want the hours of work to go beyond my own hard drive. So maybe the short version is "I give up" and maybe it's "Here's a semi-pointless and mostly selfish post for all to see" or, hopefully, it's "The ball is trying to get rolling again" but whatever it is I think I've rambled about it quite long enough and should get on with posting images.

((sigh)) I know EXACTLY what you're talking about, Rose. Been there, done that........

Your designs are lovely.
I think the Badger one is my favourite,
from an overall composit / blending standpoint,
followed by Miranda.

If I may offer a small critique...?
Perhaps it's more visible in the original file,
but the strawberries in the Kaylee design seem sort of lost in the background;
it's difficult (for me) to make them out because of the pinkish hues of the nebula.
It's entirely possible, though, that it's just due to the odd darkness of my work monitor.

Just a teeny observation of what I see.
(I avoid making unsolicited suggestions, cuz I hate it when people do that to me.
"Oh, that's really nice, but it maybe you should have put _____ right there"
or "Wow, that's awesome, but it looks like you need to add ______ to it".
Yeah? Really? You think so? F-off, Peanut Gallery. XD )

It's a little more visible in the larger design, I think, but I did struggle to make them stand out more every time I worked with the file. Stopped tweaking it, for obvious reasons. Could be your monitor is dark and that exacerbates the issue, but I certainly appreciate the feedback. It was the first one I made, I think I got a lot better as I went on

Thanks, everyone, I feel less dispirited.
