For some reason I have been obsessed with this lately. Some of the great movie lines keep rattling around in my head. My all-time personal favorite is "Get away from her , you bitch!" Aliens, of course. Ripley to the alien mother, protecting Newt. What's your favorite sci fi line?

Now, America's just another broke ex-super power looking for a handout and wondering why."

Ah so many:

From the Explorers (1985)

Wak (Alien): "Look, I know I must look weird to you but how do you think you look to me? Listen, I watched four episodes of "Lassie" before I figured out why the little hairy kid never spoke. I mean, he rolled over, sure, he did that fine but, I don't think he deserved a series for that."

Innerspace:

Lt. Tuck Pendleton: "We're gonna drink this one to Ozzie. A good man who tried to save my ass by injecting me into yours."

Lt. Tuck Pendleton: Congratulations, Jack. You just digested the bad guy.
[Jack burps]

But I think that "Shiny let's be bad guys" wins it. It's just so cool!

"Shiny!, Let's be bad guys" - classic.
"Twixt my nethers" - right alongside it.
"Please don't shoot at the nuclear weapon" - Travolta in Broken Arrow
"Get away from her, you bitch" - Ripley, Aliens is another classic

Also: "Jayne, your scaring the women"

Many favs but this one sticks out for me:

You're right... I don't. I just need to know
that this thing is out of here!

The quote is Pvt. Hudson's (Bill Paxton), not Cpl. Hicks' (Michael Biehn)...

It comes right after the dropship crashes, and they return to Operations.. Hicks states it will require them to be 17 days overdue before they should expect a rescue. Hudson starts freaking out and says they won't make it 17 hours. Ripley points out that Newt lasted longer then that with no weapons and no training...

Which is why he makes the comment

On my own, I don't have a favorite line, but there are lines I like...

Two of the most recent ones have been:

"String up some bodies, four or five should do, and make sure Shepard Book is at the front, he was our friend and we should honour him. Kaylee, I want you to get the kid takin' a dirt nap with baby Jesus, we need a hood ornament, and Jayne, try not to steal too much of their ." - Mal, in Serenity outakes.

"You know, in your next life I hope you come back as a nasty, overbearing shrew. That way you won't have to learn any new skills!" - Mal to Inara, in the 190 page Serenity script

Way back, one of the channels played a version of Aliens that had some deleted scenes in it (things like the auto-gun sequence). I was so intrigued, I wrote FOX Video (something I had never done before, or since) asking if this version was available (because they were not on my VHS tape, which was the only widely available media at the time). I was told that not only was it not available, but there was only one version, and they had no idea what I was talking about.

A year or so later, I got to go to the grand opening of a Best Buy/FYE (can't remember the name) type place with a friend (she had help set the store up), and bought the "Special Wide Screen Edition" of Aliens. Mainly because it had the "These don't exist" deleted scenes I was looking for... Of course I'm sure everybody will just be jealous as hell when I say this was on LaserDisc... Because DVD's didn't exist at the time.

Of course, since I now had the disc, I needed a LaserDisc player... Which meant I ended up spending $1000.00 to get a nice Pioneer one. Ah!! The good old days.

So you could say that I liked the movie

Caz

Edit: I opened the LaserDiscs to look at them (Yes I still have them, although my player is broke), and the response letter from CBS/Fox Video fell out. It's dated June 22, 1989... God I feel old.

Damn, there are so many..pick any line from Serenity or Firefly :P

Kwicko: that one from Blade Runner is awesome, I always loved that one.

Jacob: "Did you know the downward spiral is essentially a chain reaction?"

Jacob: "THEY'RE ALL REACTIONS!! One thing begets the next. A man has a weakness; he's flawed. This flaw leads him to guilt. The guilt leads him to shame. The shame he compensates with pride, and vanity. And when pride fails, despair takes over and they all lead to his destruction. It will become his fate...*quietly* Something's gotta stop the flow."

I don't know if Halo Machinima counts in this category, but since Halo is a sci-fi-ish game, and Red vs Blue is awesome:

Church: *dying* "I just wanted to tell you...I've always hated you. I've always hated you the most."
