This is me getting a little bit sick of all the political threads and animosity they seem to be feeding here. So this is a thread in which we are going to talk about anything and everything that has NOTHING to do with politics. Any mention of politics and I shall leave you at the mercy of Mr. Fluff!

*Mr. Fluff blinks sleepily and looks as completely nonthreatening as possible*

Damnit! You're supposed to back me up here! C'mon! Growl, look menacing!

*Mr. Fluff crawls inside Melee's shirt and goes back to sleep*

Anyhoo... lovely weather we're having today.

Ok, self centered person that I am I wanted everyone to know I'm working on a book. If you were here last time I was you might remember I was working on a piece of gos se, this is not that.

No this one is good, and I'm 80,000 words into it.

I mentioned it a couple of times, as it fit into som conversations, but I wanted to come out and say it full on.

Oh Oh Melee

Be carefull girl....
Your really pushing the envelope here with a totally non political thread.

Its gotten to the point lately where this could be seen as a real unique and revolutionary idea (read welcome idea).

Not here, it's not quite raining but looks as though it will. We are in serious need of rain for our garden.
Lets talk about something other than the weather...
I'm making a costume for the opening of Serenity, have any ideas? I've got a tee-shirt planned out but trying to figure out a bottom...

Here's a non political question for you....

I just saw the trailer for the new I, Robot movie last night on the tube.

Now, nothing against Alan Tudyk or anything (I think the guys the best pilot anyone could ask for), but is anyone else just a little shocked that the movie plot does not seem to have even the most remote connection to the Asimov story?

Whats with the legions of attacking robots and stuff?????

What the F*ck???????

//Disengaging rant mode//
OK, I'm better now

I'll be wearing a blue sun t-shirt and I'm thinking of knitting an orange hat (it is still cold enough on April 22nd, don't you think?)

I'd love to find a brown coat....

Thats cool! (really good idea!!) Would you mind if I bummed your idea about the hat, or maybe I can find a cowboy hat? BTW London Fog makes really awesome coats.

Do you think it's okay to wear a long skrit with a tee-shrit and combat boots? or should I stick with a kaki cargos?

I'm going to put together my fancy togs for the premier shindig. Recycling my Klondike Kate dress should do the trick. This year it will be all red and low cut and saloon girly. :)

Shocked? No. Disappointed? Yes.

Standard Hollywood treatment, I'd say.

From the tone of this thread I guess the political stuff is getting old! I'd sure like to make my contribution to a non-political thread. Is anyone in a cold climate? Around here it's getting hot and sticky, typical dog days of summer. Even a lot of the grass is dead. Oh well, I not much of a gardener anyway but I do like working with my hands!

Thank you for reading my non-political post! :)

Point taken Melee.

This clothing idea seems interesting. The blue sun T is one obvious choice for subtle advertising of Browncoat leanings but there must be a whole whack of other things that are clearly Firefly, for the initiated. It'd be nice to have a thread on that...

As for I, Robot. Also not surprised. I just hope they actually used the potential provided by the book. There are lots of issues about robotics and humanity that could be covered without recounting the stories themselves. We can only hope that they didn't reveal the full depth of the movie and the 1 plot twist in the preview.

About the cold weather, it's always cold somewhere in Canada, just not in Toronto.

Also, if you had 3 magic switches like Wash has, what would they do? That's a fairly general discussion topic.

I think that could be seen as a political statement in opposition to attacking robots. The attacking robot legion may find that comment inappropriate.

I need to find a new hairdresser. Mine is just not cutting my hair right anymore. Why is that? I tip well. I conversate, but not too much. I shower before I go. Do they just forget how to cut hair? Because the first few times I go to a new person, I love the cut. Then, it starts going all wonky. Please, someone, fill me in!

And what's your stand on Cheney using the F-bomb???

A more genral question, do you think that they do anything? I see Wash just there with a screwdriver installing three switches not conected to anything. Like that's part of the shows untold mythology.

Hey, this one's easy!

One would do the yardwork, because I freakin' HATE yardwork, and I have a monster backyard that makes me look like total white trash.

One would do the housework.

And the other one would do general & complicated house maintinence, since it probably couldn't go to work for me.

I hope it's still chilly in April here, because I have a beautiful, 3/4 brown suede coat that I'm going to wear. I have boots, though I can't bring myself to tuck my jeans inside them, and I'll either wear a Serenity shirt or just go for full overkill with that recruitment poster shirt that the dude (I can't remember his name!) has on Cafepress.

But with Oklahoma,in April it could be anywhere between -15 windchill or 90 above.

I would link you in the Cafepress site, but I have never figured out how to do that.
So if you don't already know, go to Cafepress.com, and Search for Stores - title of the shop is FadedPress.
