I definitely agree in theory;but I'm always paranoid with my favourite books that it will be crap on the screen. Peter Jackson proved me wrong, but he is the exception.

Especially if he has too much a hand in it - nothing King has written for TV in the last ten years has turned out better than dull, and almost all of his movie conversions in the same time have sucked badly. No offense to King or to Dark Tower - both of which I worship mightily - just his more violent and more mental stuff does not translate at all to any screen.

Yeah, I've been hoping for a good Silent Hill movie, but I'm afraid your prediction will turn out right. Still, it might at least LOOK cool, if they design it close enough to the games' setting.

As far as comics go, my first choice would be Creature Tech, by Doug TenNapel. (He's the guy who did those claymation games, NeverhoOd and Skullmonkeys, and Earthworm Jim.) I heard somebody already bought the movie rights, but I haven't seen any news on it. My second choice, and please don't hate me for saying this, is I Feel Sick, by Jhonen Vasquez. I'm a big fan of all of Vasquez' comics, but IFS has a very deep story, and it's relatively toned-down from the murderous rampages of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.

And books...Well, I hear they're supposed to make one for The Talisman, by Stephen King. Hopefully, they won't mess that one up too much. I wouldn't mind seeing movies of King's Dark Tower series, either...although I still need to read most of the books in it.
