There's no such thing as mean kitties and where did my cat's doppelganger come from in that pic? The white and black kitty has extremely similar markings to my cat.

What if he's a nice cat, but other cats and maybe some dogs (and humans :( ) have mangled the kitty?

Insane because some jerk is scarring a kitty who's totally cornered? He's got not flight option so he's making it darn clear he's in fight mode.

The cat is being filmed. It doesn't like that. Mice don't like to be bitten & tortured to death. I can't somehow get all riled up here for the poor kitty, except to hope it chilled out after this & found a good home.

I wish I'd taken a picture I could add to this thread, after my old cat Ellery (may he RIP)ripped a jagged line on my tongue 12 years ago. I still shudder when I think about the pain I still have a scar too but you can't see it that well in pictures...he also re-pearced one of my earlobes, almost blinded me and ripped my nostril once...he used to have random imperceptible evil moments where he liked to see me bleed and shout.

God! that Video is gut wrenching...I can't believe the frightful woman is goading the poor cat and laughing in the background. We only recently took my parent's cat Theo to the vet for an abscess He came home with a lumping great plastic drain hanging out of his side and wearing one of those big clear cone collars. he was hissing and screeching up a storm for about 30 minutes due to distress, wore himself out and made himself hoarse...we were devastated. I was in tears (and not much makes me cry) my parents (in their 70's) were so upset they had to leave the house until I could calm him down. and then he kept trying to put his head in my lap for comfort and couldn't due to the cone. Not very funny at all...it did get funny a few days later when he worked out he could head butt us with the cone, and dig bigger holes with it.

When I bathe my cats, I can't help it. I laugh. They overreact so ridiculously.

And even though I feel really bad about it, that video of the screaming shelter cat (I'd seen it before) makes me laugh too, pretty much for the same reason. ._.

The cat doesn't know it's not in any danger, but we do. I guess that doesn't make it okay, and it makes the people who laugh kind of mean for it, but that's generally the reason they do. NOT because they're enjoying the suffering or distress of an animal.

It's like watching a little kid throw a temper tantrum over not getting a popsicle, like a two year old, only everything that's coming out of their mouth is just FOUL PROFANITY in a torrent of insults and threats.

Hoo lordy, I gotta get some audio of Kallista on one of her verbal rampages, there's like, actual syllables in there, not just yowling, but definable changes of tone and cadence to where you KNOW she's sayin somethin, but not exactly what - although given the circumstances of such, the general content is pretty obvious, like watching a foreign drill sergeant bawling out a recruit, you dun have to know the exact words to comprehend the sentiment.

Or Puppys rather extended pontification that occurs whenever I do laundry, WHY is a complete mystery, but she'll get "talkative" for like, half an hour straight over it - and that "conversation" (held entirely in Miaow) back and forth like that was one of the factors that sent the only roomie we ever had screamin for the hills one night.

It's fun to talk to cats. It's not hard at all to understand them, and generally they can understand you. The important thing I've seemed to notice is pitch and length. All cats also have their own meow style, too, which the understanding is more easily reached if you can imitate it.

I guess I'd feel differently if a) the cat wasn't in a cage in a sterile, scary environment, b) I wasn't still smarting from my cats recent experience....he's funny getting a bath though he just squeaks and does that mmmmmm thing a bit and tries to get out one paw out at a time... he doesn't mind the water its the shampooing and rinsing he hates. I don't know why my mum bothers bathing him as he always escapes and rolls in the dirt just to annoy her.
Also re cat communication they have pretty telling facial and body gestures that give very clear messages...Theo's "Oh my God you humans are so damn dense" look of pure disdain is a classic. my other favourites are "get the hell outta my chair!" and "open the damn door already and stop trying to pat me"

Um, well, the only upload tool I'm aware of it the fanart thing for the blue sun room.

Go to your profile, and there should be something there I think, and if not, you may have to browse into a story in the BSR and then navigate to post a fanart on the navigation link thing to the left.

Otherwise, for personal pictures and the like, such as our kitties, I think most of us use hosting sites elsewhere to upload, and link to the pictures there. Photobucket is pretty popular.

I know he is ridiculously cute, so people are always trying to pat and cuddle him which he hates (except for his twice a day cuddles with my mum at 7.30 am and again at 4pm). He's officially my parents cat but I've living with them for 5 years so he's attached to me too.

Hey Peulsar5 I'm not sure what you mean by incoming....if it's incoming unwanted attention you elude to then yes. If we don't take the hint he flatulates at will...does the same if you try to pick him up to move him. he stores em up so they are good and stinky. he also will grab your face or bite your neck or under your arm in self defence but never scratches or draws blood. Smart and polite little fiend really. Our old cat would just try to scratch your face off. Note the tongue story I posted above.
