Just saw Kung Fu Hustle, wow was that a hoot and a half! Don't be drinkin' soda while ya watch it!

Supernova is a minor, little-known classic of sorts, with that 'Alien' feel to it.

Battlestar Galactica 2.1 was EXCELLENT, can't wait for the second half to hit the stores!

And keep your eyes open for The Adventures Of Brisco County, Jr. The DVD is scheduled for summer/fall release!

Just a few for now, got any suggestions, Browncoats?

For those of us who are older'n dirt and those young enuf to like old stuff:

The Wild Wild West TV series, to be released in June.

Funny, sexy, exciting, sexy, romantic, sexy!

(Sorry about the all the "sexy's", I had a major crush on Robert Conrad as a preteen, teen, twentysomething, thirtys-- ... well, you catch my drift!)

I think the first season's B&W, but don't let that put you off. You can preorder it on amazon - preferably by going thru the www.tvshowsondvd.com site cuz it's the best site of its kind out there. And the site operator likes Firefly - so how can you lose?

Actually, I liked the first season the best! And I saw it first-run (when my parents weren't aware, heh heh).
It was notable at the time for being THE MOST violent TV series of it's day.

Chrisisall West

That's funny, I don't remember it as being violent. I remember West was sexy (Er, James West, not Chrisisall West ), Artemus Gordon was funny, the inventions were all cool, and the bad guys were all amazingly intelligent yet became incredibly stupid just in time for West to catch 'em. It was kinda like a James Bond Western with a touch of scifi.

Not as obscure but along the same vein, The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., was another cool western with a little bit more scifi in it than West. It will also be released this summer.

ORPHEUS

Godzilla: Final Wars. Watched that the other day, and I gotta say wow. As kinda lame as most of the (REAL) Godzilla movies are, Final Wars just pulls out all the stops. Just about every monster Godzilla ever fought shows up in this movie as part of some bizarre alien plot to take over the Earth. It's halfway silly, halfway serious, but it's all a whole lot of fun.

The whole movie just has odd stuff going on in it. While part of the plot is knowingly ripped off from Independence Day, the human element is something right out of a Star Trek episode. One of the main characters is this American general who's the definition of the word 'kickass'.

Check it out if you get the chance.

I don,t know if I would call this new or obscure, but for those out there who dig anime (I like to call it Japanes cartoons) There is a series with striking parallels to Fire Fly. It's called Outlaw Star. It actualy starts with a kidnapped girl in a refrigerated suit case!
