Quote:April 25: I need a TV for my room. But I don't know much about TVs. So, I've been learning. Wow! There's a lot to learn. Ok, I guess what I'm looking for here is some advice from a TV guru, or even just someone with more experience than me. I'll give you the bones of my desire. From what I know so far, I want a: 17" Flat panel LCD TV, it needs to be "wall mount friendly," it needs to be between $0.00 and $500.00, and I’d like at least decent visual and audio quality (the best I can get for the price I want, obviously). These are slightly flexible requirements. Now that you know my basic preferences, I'm open for suggestions. If you know of a TV that you think I might be interested in, or if you just have TV related knowledge to share, please feel free to help me :þ. And keep in mind that my requirements are slightly flexible. Also, I won't be watching any actual television on it (just DVDs). Don’t hesitate to make me look stupid if you see gaps or blurs in my knowledge :). I want to learn this stuff. I got most of my knowledge from howstuffworks.com: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/tv-buying-guide.htm HELP ME! Please...

Alternatively, you could go for one from eBay, there's quite a few there. Something like this could suit your needs: http://cgi.ebay.com/SEALED-TOSHIBA-20-20HLV15-TFT-LCD-TV-DVD-HDTV-HDMI-HOT_W0QQitemZ9717923387QQcategoryZ94929QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I'd definitely go for something in widescreen as that's the format DVDs are aimed at. I can't recommend a specific set as I have no direct experience (I'm more of a 42" kind of guy) but why not find one you like the look of on ebay and go review hunting on the internet?

Thanks for the link, I don't think that one is the best TV for me (that doesn't mean it's not still open for consideration), but after seeing it I went off on a search tangent and found one that looks pretty good. I think it fits my needs even better: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002KQR0U/sr=1-1/qid=1146095524/ref=sr_1_1/103-2621542-8367847?%5Fencoding=UTF8&s=audio-video http://pcworld.pricegrabber.com/search_techspecs.php/masterid=4705838 Please, I'd like to know what anyone thinks.
