Yesterday was more unpacking, and today was taking lots of stairs. Got 8:30am class now, so probably gonna be more of a weekend person now.

Not feeling so good tonight so no walk for me but earlier I did manage to get in a few squats and a little bit of armwork. Not much but it will have to do.

Got in a 1.5 mile walk tonight. Would have been longer but I started at 8:30 and it was already dark and I didn't feel as safe as when it's still light outside (for obvious reasons). But 1.5 miles isn't bad! This is the beginning of week four for me, I believe, and I'm proud of myself!

One of my good friends was having an incredibly bad day so I ended up forfeiting my workout time to go out for a bottle of wine and an after wine snack with her.

And of course tonight was the Dalai Lama movie night, so I lost more workout time.

Moral of the story: This means my ass is getting up at 6 a.m. to head to the gym before class.

Egads!

So the gym was fun. Not really, but I made myself do it.

And never again will I get up that early just to go workout.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Got a good workout in last night. 45 minutes on the weights then 45 minutes of cardio.

Went for a walk @ lunch today & put in 1.8 miles.

I'll be hitting the gym again tonight for heavy cardio.

No time for a walk today but I did get quite a bit of toning stuff in. I did some armwork and I also got about four sets of squats and three sets of lunges in. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Hi all!

Did two new pilates workouts today: one called Power Abs, which was challenging but not impossible, and one for my hips. Also got 3 reps of bicep work with resistance bands in. Feeling good.

I need to do some more stretching, however. My hamstrings are still pretty tight, considering how much exercising I've been doing in the last 3 weeks. Any suggestions for the best way to stretch out tight hamstrings?

Not sure. If I come across anything, I'll send it your way.

Meanwhile, I just got back from the gym. A short, but intense 30 minute workout. I feel all my gym sessions are going to be shorter until next week after finals, but eh. At least I'm still making it. I'll just have to watch what I eat until my birthday.

May 12th. I have to work 8 hours that day and take 2 finals, then we're having a HUGE party. Tropical beach themed, baby pool with wop, margaritas, leis, etc.

It's going to be so fun! I'm pretending it's my 21st again because I had to take it easy on my 21st last year.

So far this week, its only been stairs and walking around at University.

I'm trying to find the time, but I think that stairs and possibly rollerblading on the weekends (if I find the time) will be the best I can do for a while.

*sigh*

Hi all!

Two mile walk today at a brisk pace. Went with my friend Trisha, who said "wow, your stomach looks a lot flatter!" yay!

I also weighed myself at her house, since I don't own my own scale, and since the last time I weighed myself there I've lost 4 lbs!

Got in 45 minutes on the weights again last night. Did 45 minutes of cardio afterwards. I felt pretty good when I left the gym, kind of like a runner's high.

Weighed in again & I am down to 244. Started at 260 when we began. I am little disappointed in how little weight I have lost, but as SigmaNunki pointed out muscle weighs more, so I guess I am putting on muscle while losing fat.

Still waiting to get another notch or two off the ol' belt. Dropped 3 notches since I started.

How do you like the YMCA?

Haven't decided what I'll do today for exercise. Probably pilates or weight training.

Yesterday was my first day at the YMCA so I don't know how I'll like it overall but so far so good! The guy who showed us the equipment was really nice and helpful. I'm also really excited that I'll have access to a pool and treadmills! With summer coming up I won't be able to walk or run outside as much, if ever. Anyway, I'll try to get over there later- we'll see:)

I remember when I had a membership at the Y. It was fun!

It's going to be a rough week for me now that I actually have to crack open my books and start studying for finals (first one on Monday morning--eek!).

Yesterday was just a bad day. I had every intention of working out after work, but my friend lured me away with promises of illicit goodness. And today, I'm just dead exhausted. Might try and make it out for a run tonight if I get too antsy.

Otherwise, hopefully I make it to the gym tomorrow.

*crosses fingers*

I also had a bad day yesterday. The only thing I did is some upper body work with some weights.

I really need to kick it up a notch today. Perhaps a walk/jog and my kickboxing dvd will do it.

Awesome day. I went to the gym and did 20 minutes each on the treadmill, elliptical, and bike. I also got in close to 20 minutes of weights/toning. I'm going to be hurting tomorrow but I feel great!

Awesome.

I went to the gym determined to at least an hour of cardio because I was super antsy from spending all morning and part of the afternoon in the library (sadly, I must return in a few hours), but I arrived at the gym only to discover that they are operating on "Finals Week Hours" and are only open until 6. LAME!

Therefore I only put in 30 minutes on the elliptical, but I guess it's better than nothing.

Weight is holding steady.

Well, I did some cardio on Friday, but only had time for 30 minutes worth.

I did go out to the family farm on Saturday and get in quite a bit of work around the yard & fields. Anyone who thinks that is not a workout has never done it. I was sore as anything on Sunday.
