TRISTAN

I have seen several posts here and there with helpful info on how to search through old threads using Google, and how to see all the profile names...but I am unable to locate that thread. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance!

Tristan, I just google - FFF.net and a part of the thread name or username. I went back to see if I could find official instructions. Here's what I found.

Over on the right of the main page kinda down is the part that says Message Boards... pick one, click on it and go clear to the bottom and you will see that it says Archived Threads. Click and it will take you clear back to the beginning. It's slow loading but loads of fun!

You can go through each board and find the old threads. Or you can search using google, which is what I do. I type FireFlyFans.net and then the things I'm searching for. It usually works for finding old topics and threads.

I can never remember exactly HOW to phrase the search parameters for google, so I just hit the "Advanced Search" option to the right of the bar, and then put my search words in the top where it says "all of the words" and "fireflyfans.net" under domain. That limits your search to this site.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

The GD archives no longer show up.
Here is how to query google:

site:fireflyfans.net Tristan costumes

This would bring up a long list of threads in which you have used the word "costume". That all clear, I hope?

Thanks, PhoenixRose, I usually found what I was looking for, but I would only get a few threads at a time. It's nice to know how to access a long list of threads. You made my day.

"Did he just go crazy and fall asleep?"

*Rummages around in beaten up old mailbag, creating small dust cloud*

"Cough! Cough! >Hack!<"

*Eyes streaming with tears, etching paths into rugged dust-covered face, becoming smears (no, no, not "s'mores"; different thread...) as he wipes them away with his grimy hands*

"*mumble*...got it here somewhere...Cough! Cough!"

*Proceeds into coughing fit bringing on a rise in the back of his throat as his diaphram prepares to flush his stomach clean. He stops just in time, unable to focus for the dizziness and tears*

"Here it is!"

*He croaks after an interminable, eerie silence*

"I knew I had it!"

*Hands crumpled and worn shred of paper to Tristan*

"Crap. Tristan won't get this till Monday. Oh well. Anybody got anything to drink?"

"Well, here I am."

JonnyQuest, thank you! That's the one I was looking for!
(I have managed to escape the front desk for a spell)

I really appreciate you finding that!
