Okay, y'all are getting some fresh blood....

Background:

Height 5'6"

Weight ..... err hum wellll...

okay deep breath.....

Jan 1 2006 I was 225.7 lbs. I'm on blood thinners for life and I need to keep my vitamin K intake very steady and per my doctor I was simply avoiding greens altogether. Jan 2 2006 I told my doc to "deal with it" and went back to having salads and veggies regularly. The key being equal amounts of vitamin K daily and I've work that out pretty well.

Sept 26 2006 Weight 211.0 lbs weight loss entirely due to dietary changes. Hubby and I are planning to take a 2 week vacation in April 2007 - heading to Austraila- I realized I needed a lot more work and started looking at gyms/health clubs

Oct 17 2006 weight 207.5 Found a place I like, probably one of the more expensive in the area started Oct 3rd. But they do a lot of hand holding and thats what I need. And a pool - very important as I plan to be snorkling in April.

My goals - most immediate is simply more energy and stamina. I expect to lose pounds and sizes as I go along but I need the energy to get thru the day. While that is a rather general goal I'm looking forward to having enough energy to cook in the evening rather than reheat Sundays cooking.

I seem to manage 5 days a week. Monday without a doubt is my day off. I can't face a work Monday and the gym too. I'm trying Tai Chi on Saturdays, Resistance workouts + Cardio 3 days a week, Cardio any days left.

I really want to get more swimming done but I had my hair color done 10/01 and even today my hair is still "bleeding" from the dyes. I really don't want to get blood red hair dye in their pool but hopefully soon I'll be rinsing "clear" instead of "pink"

I'll probably check in every other day but we'll see how it goes...

And so the journey begins....

Welcome Flechette!

I've found that having to checkin provides a lot of the motivation that I need to keep it going. Though I've been feeling rather guilty lately.

We look forward to your checkin's

I haven't exactly been working out lately, but I have been packing and such as I'm moving on Thr. So, my thought is, getting sweaty = workout. Hope people agree with me.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

The wife & I have been putting in an hour and a half at our gym every afternoon. It sure is a lot easier to work out with a partner. You can motivate one another & help push each other past that comfortable spot we sometimes have a tendancy to stop at when we work out.

I have lost another five pounds. That is a total of 35 so far.

I'll agree with you! LOL sweating = calorie burn in my book

Really had to drag myself in this morning- woke up late, sinuses were completely stopped up, etc etc-- but I made it in and got 11 min on the eliptical trainer [ave heart rate 141] and 15 min on the treadmill [ave heart rate 130].

Also did 3 sets of 12 crunches on one of the Keiser machines

I took a quick glance at my resistance workout for Thursday and I'll guess I'm moving into a new phase cause half the workout is new to me and it includes pushups - yech!

I'd rather use the machines than floorwork but the club swears that variety of styles is good for you -- but.... guess I have to at least try.

Also guess I better plan to get in early to aquaint myself with some new equipment and routines. And remind myself that I got me into my current lack of condition - it's up to me to get back in shape.

and Thank you God for the clubs Hot tub/Jacuzzi! LOL

Hmm looks like I am going for daily checkins

Today was resistance train + Cardio

28 min resistance training working mainly the chest today. Pushups blech! Had several different machines and a few new back exercises. I did like the new leg press machine - the old one {Nautalis (sp?) } only had weights in 20 lb increments. For me 50 lbs was fairly light but 70lbs was too hard. The new Icarus (again sp?) machine has main weights in 20 lb increments too but also has 3 addtl 5 lb weights so you can go 50-55-60-65. I did 2 sets @ 55lbs I may try 1 55 and 1 60 next time.

Did 10 min on the elipitcal {ave heart rate 139} I think I could have done a little more cardio but I was out of time and had to get to work [and allow time to change/clean up] They wanted my cardio at 146-150 this time thru and I don't think I can quite reach that yet.

I also fell off the food wagon and went for Italian last night, Chicken parm and egg plant rollatini okay - back on the wagon today.

How's everyone else doing?
