MATRIX DUO TO WORK ON VENDETTA

Matrix masterminds Andy and Larry Wackowski's next film will feature Natalie Portman from Star Wars.

V For Vendetta, written and produced by the brothers, is set in an alternative future in which Germany won WWII and Britain became a fascist state.

The story is based on a graphic novel by League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen creato Alan Moor and will be the directorial debut of Wachowski acolyte James McTeigee, Variety reports.

New Wachowski brothers film V For Vendetta features Natalie Portman as a secret policewoman recruited to work with a terrorist freedom fighter.

Together they carry out a militant guerilla campaign to destroy the fascist state they're trapped in.

The action flick is being made by the studio and producer behind the Matrix trilogy, Warner Bros and Joel Silver. Shooting begins in Berlin in MArch and a release date of autumn is planned.

It's somewhat of a shift in the background story given that the original graphic novel it was a post WWIII Britain that turned Fascist (Britain surviving by staying out of a US/USSR Nuclear exchange) but if it's a patch on the original storyline it should be good.

I have to say that the mask looks particularly good, while the mention of the 5th of November on the poster, may be a hint to a release date (other than already being Guy Fawkes/Fireworks Night...)
