Clearly, one Brit is "g" (spot) challenged. This is where I stop with the advice. Other than, read the appropriate book, I'm sure even UK publishers have 'em.

Also, it's official: sex is okay in Canada. Just, not practiced enough by the general population, such that immigration is still encouraged.

We Canucks are just too busy loafing, see?

The problem with pizza is you have to get up to answer the door.

Huh. Good point. We could have Nookslaves to answer the door for us, and to collect the pizzas. But, slavery is a bad thing, right?

This is a conundrum which with the Loafer in me just can't cope. 'Twas all I could do to insert the Serenity disc into the dvd player all by my ownself.

its the post con slump.

the holidays are over for the year. the ones where you get to go away to nice foreigh places any way.

we'll perk up for hallowween and christmass or whatnot.

butr this time of year, where summer is just over and the rains are starting, is a traditionally depressed time of year.

people even stop shopping (so much) which in this country is a true intication that things are bad.

How come I haven't seen this thread before? Hello all you good good people. Oh, and you too Serenity.

I've been busy organising things. I've put up a post about a trip to see Spamalot in London:

http://forum.cantstopthesignal.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1724

and also made arrangements for a chillout room at Serenity4

I haven't been hitting on girls in supermarkets. I think there's laws against that in the UK.

Do it any ways, that way you can be the "outlaw of love". If it turns out there isn't a law against it you will be the first to push the envelope into a whole new dimension. Just remember it's like driving with a clutch, smoothness counts. What have you got to lose?

slave screams thinks he has something to say
slave screams he hears but doesn't want to listen
slave screams he's being beat into submission
don't open your eyes you won't like what you see
the devils of truth steal the souls of the free
don't open your eyes take it from me
i have found
you can find
happiness in slavery
slave screams he spends his life learning conformity
slave screams he claims he has his own identity
slave screams he's going to cause the system to fall
slave screams but he's glad to be chained to that wall
don't open your eyes you won't like what you see
the blind have been blessed with security

Oh, happiness in slavery...

i can sit through any amount of gunk and gore, Eli Roth is some cute little guy with a love of syrup, I sat through the collected video's of Tool, with nary a flinch, while the guy i was with at the time only let me watch them to see me go all girly. Not a hint of it.

But i can't even think of the Happiness in Slavery video with out needing to go find a bucket. That is a baaaaaaad baaaaaad video.

*shuuder*

Ah, Spamalot.

I so want to go, i really really really do, but i don't know if i can get time off (specially as its a tuesday/wednesday) or afford the ticket, especially as i'll have to pay for train travel and a hotel.(i'd have to come after work in the week, and i'm never staying in a hostel again)

I'm going to try, because i really want to see it, but....

I'll try.

Which i suppose prompts the question, would anyone else need to stay overnight, would they want to share a room?

and i'm so jealous about Glasgow. you lucky lucky people, not only to get to go to S$, but to get to go to glasgow and to get together a room to get away from the scary ass dancing.

Sigh, oh, if only I were a millionaire. I wouldn't have to work. I could go.

See, you're an evil and confusing boy. You post a very alarming sounding video for me to watch, i mean, puppies and rainbows, you sick sick person...

and then you try to coerce me into coming to london - a notoriously dodgy city, where I will be at the mercy of you and that bloke who snores and follows women around supermarkets but doesn't ask them out.

what are you trying to do to me?

in other news, i finally managed to bin your waistcoat (2nd attempt, first time my mum thought it was in the wastepaper basket by mistake and put it back on my room) but I have a waistcoat, which i made and don't want, a long Cpt. Sparrow type thing, and you are welcome to it if you want it.

Of course, if it don't get to come to London you can't get your mitts on it, so you'd better start giving me more incentive to come.

You mean meeting Simonwho and that alleged bloke that allegedly snores and allegedly stalks alleged women in possible supermarkets in a dodgy city isn't enough?

My internet wasn't working for quite some time, I could talk to people over IM use net games, ping websites like google, but nothing would open in browsers. It's fixed now, but how I don't know, I even managed to fix Zone Alarms Live MSN conflict, which is apparently unfixable without deleting the IM security module. I don't know how I did that either.

yes, incentive, like, you would both have to be very nice to me, and the resturant would have to be nice, and someone would have to let me read their program, and maybe someone would buy me flowers (I like orange blossoms and lillies) and of course, there could be no supermarket stalking while i was there.

ok, thats it, you're not allowed to mention S4 or Glasgow again.

I'm very jealous. Oh, you must go to the Hill House, and the tea rooms, and the other Mackintosh places, (or whatever is possible in the few hours where nothing is happening at the con) and tell me if they're as marvellous in real life as they are in the photo's.

And i demand a postcard.

Chinese is always good, I have to admit I almost suggested this crazy theatre resturant, but then fugured that the meal would probably cost more than the rest of the trip combined.

one time (if there are repeat occasions) we'll all have to try thai, or vietnamese, 'cause i've never tried them.

Anybody else tried them?

And finding out what all the froofrerar is about HD would be fun.

LMD, Sorry to hear you're still not feeling well.
How was the trip? I'm going to be about most of the night if you wanna talk about it.
Ah, close brushes with death, Been there, done that, didn't waste money on the t-shirt. It really doesn't help much. I know what helps, it's much harder to find than close brushes with death. But there are other approaches that make things easier. Coping skills that must be practiced. But I've found you need a variety of coping skills, focusing on one can lead to the belief that it is an answer.
Speaking of answers, I'm going to go loaf for a while, right over there in that pile of cushions and pillows, and sip on a tall drink, and daydream about the good times. Could use more of them.

I've tried vietnamese, in Germany in all of places, it's very similar to Chinese with just some minor differences really.

My Aunts from Thailand. So I've had Thai food before, there's also this place not to far from where I live that does pretty good Thai. It's stange, it's like a mixture of Indian and Chinese, there's some dishes that are very curry like, some that are more like Chinese and some that are like mixes of both. It's strange but very nice.

Yeah, though much of the Thai cuisine has this emphasis on peanuts, and peanutty sauces. Which I luv, but the cozenbody has a stupid allergic reaction to -- vis, acne! Bleh. Luv peanuts, can't eat 'em.

*With apologies to SR*

So, what's with this fee to drive in "downtown" London? Specifically, how and where does a prospective foreign driver go about paying this fee? No mention in the rental contract, none. Cuz, £5 is less than the £50 fine plus the £35 administration fee charged by the car-hire company. I figured that last part out all by my ownself. It's the first part that's got me miffed.

*Hands SR a fifth of Oban. Which, coincidentally, happens to cost exactly the amount debitted to cozen's credit card for the driving infraction, yep.*

Cheers! (, although less frothy, and generally meted out in smaller portions)

because no one in Glasgow need a corset making for them! the last two times i've had hotels and tickets covered and i'd just had to get there.
I did think about buying a ticket when we were at S£, but couldn't guarantee that i'd save enough.

cause i'm a total spend thrift. *slaps wristies*

Cozen, I hate to tell you this but you should have paid it the same day or the day after at the latest, so i'd check your bank statements to see if the rental company have charged your card. It goes on registration, so the rental place would have been billed, and passed it on to you. Just hopefully, they got charged the £8 as opposed to the penalty.

eeek! Keep drinkin the oban.

I think, that even if it causes major problems, I will definetly be coming to see Spamalot. I just don't care that much!

The only problem now is its my sisters birthday on the 13th, so i'd have to get a train back REALLY early, possibly.

Unless the day changes.

Retelling the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and featuring a number of gratuitously scantily clad showgirls, not to mention the cows, killer rabbits and French people, Monty Python’s Spamalot has been hailed as:

Please note: the show may be inappropriate for children aged eight years old or under

But that's the question, Seryn. We should have paid what? And how?

There were no big signs up saying "Pay fee here before driving in city" or something. It was just this magical thing we were supposed to magically know.

Oh well, we learned a very important lesson. Never drive in London. EVER.

So, this is why people got sick. They didn't pay the congestion charge.

So, how often must one pay that charge to drive in central London?

"But you sleep like a ghost with me
It's as simple as that
So tell me I'm mad
Roll me up and breathe me in
Come to my madness
My opium den
Come to my madness
Make sense of it again."
