Is there anyway someone can translate this for me?? I want to take the line: "you can't take the sky from me" and once translated into chinese characters, have it tattooed onto me.

I just love the line, and think it would be fitting if it is in chinese. I'd greatly apprecitae it.

Or, if you could turn me to a site that would translate the words into characters for me, I'd greatly appreciate it. i've been around to a few sites, but not found any that would translate the verse and be grammar-conscious.

Thanks a million, and perhaps I'll get a picture posted when the tat. happens this summer!

Not that I can translate into Chinese, but I'm curious:

Do you want "you CAN take the sky from me" or "you CAN'T take the sky from me"?

I'm assuming the latter, but I just thought I'd clarify before you end up with the wrong thing tattooed on you :)

thanks for catching my major error. Kind of defeats the purpose of the verse by dropping one letter, eh?

And actually, I stand corrected.

您不能作為天空從我

"You cannot take the sky from me"

I couldn't get "can't".

Hope you didn't get the other one. I also reccomend someone proffing it that actually speaks the language.

That line sort of means, "You cannot become sky from me." I say "sort of," because it's ungrammatical. :-)

I find translating this line not easy. I'll post again if I think of a good one.

how about: 你搶不了我的天空, (ni3 qiang3bu4liao3 wo3 de0 tian1kong4) literally "you cannot steal/grab/snatch from my hands the sky."

I thought of that, but thought it was too literal and a little bit incorrect. "我的天空" (my sky) isn't quite right because the sky belongs to no one. I'm being picky, of course. Also, "我的天空" comes too close to "我的天" ("My God!" or "Heavens!")

I was trying to think of a more old-fashioned translation, with four characters or eight, but got stuck. And there I stayed.

The more poetic way of saying this phrase in chinese is

夺不走我的天空
(Duo2 Bu4 Jou3 Wo3 De1 Tian1 Kong1)

It will be more appopriate. Hope you have not tattoed it yet.
