I had a chance to meet them both over the weekend in Orlando at FX Int'l. Both were very friendly and bubbly, and looked like they were enjoying themselves. Morena's hair is still short, and she looks as great as ever. Jewel looked like Kaylee to me, not the slim-version. It was a big thrill for me to get to talk to them individually on Friday. They also wrote some very shiny words on my personalized autographed photos. Now I've met 4 of the 9 BDH's plus Mark Sheppard and Christina Hendricks.

On Saturday Jewel and Morena were part of a panel of Whedon Women that included Clare Kramer, Julie Benz, and Juliet Landau. A line-up of finer-looking ladies would be tough to assemble. They all said how much they love Joss.

Said hello to the Austin Browncoats who had a booth at the show. Some very fine people in that group. I salute you!

Here's some pics from Saturday's panel. Sorry, I only had a camera-phone :

I saw them both at various DragonCons but that's not like being able to talk TO them like you would an actual person.

I just don't get star struck anymore. At the WOSP 2004 I spent 30 minutes chatting with Laura Prepon (Donna from that 70's Show) after she got busted out while she watched Danny Masterson(Hyde) from the rails. I was just in the right place at the right time I guess. She stood there about 30 minutes until Masterson was suddenly eliminated, then they both took off to live the fun life in Vegas.

My sister is a manager of a hotel bar in Rhode Island and during the Transformers convention prior to the film (yes, there is such a convention) she served drinks to the guy that voices Optimus Prime. Said he sounds nothing like the character but when he did the voice for her the vocal change was both astonishing and bizarre.

Blue Sun....the panel with all the girls was great, but I would not have even gone if the show didn't allow you to meet the guests personally. I went to Megacon in February and was immersed within the Battlestar Galactica world. I spent a fortune and was tapped out, so this show, only 6 weeks later had me scramblin' to raise some cashy money. At both shows the guests were very accessible. This weekened I also met Leonard Nimoy and Jonathon Frakes. I like these smaller shows as compared to Dragon etc. No marching parades, but lots of great guests and merchandise.

Yeh, there working actors an all but it just seems the cast of firefly got shortchanged. Great movie but we could be looking at season 8 dongma.

"Battle of Serenity, Mal. Besides Zoe here, how many-" "I'm talkin at you! How many men in your platoon came out of their alive".

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I would love to have been there.

So far I have only met three of our BDHs, Nathan and Ron at a pre-release screening of the movie in Austin on 5/5/05, and Morena at a Dallas con in '07. One of these days I hope to meet and get autographs from them all.

I was also lucky enough to meet Greg Edmonson at ApolloCon '06 in Houston. Great guy!

wo men ren ran zai fei xing.

I feel the same way as all of you. I want to meet them all. It's pretty amazing that we do have the opportunity to do just that, considering that none of these folks really needs to go to these sci-fi convention things. I believe they go to them for the same reasons we go, they love to meet their fans. And the great thing is that although they all have exciting careers after Firefly, they still come back to see the fans to talk about the show. No red carpets, no Hollywood reporters, no papparazzi, just the girls in their jeans being themselves in a relaxed and respectful environment. There aren't many places on Earth as cool as attending one of these things. I highly recommend it.
