Gay, straight, who knows, Jordanian, Ukrainian (I should start a thread from what he had to say - "I am more Ukrainian today thanks to Putin than I have ever been... he has done more harm to his own people with his propaganda and lies than Stalin..." !), Indian, Italian , men, women, young people, every color - incredible diversity and lots of stories. Totally inspiring.

Quote:You don't drop barrel bombs from "planes", only helicopters.
Quote:Also, "barrel bombs" are a very low-tech weapon which exposes the bomber to ground fire, since they need to be dropped from relatively slow-moving, low-flying helicopters. They also tend to be low yield.
Quote:A barrel bomb is an improvised unguided bomb, sometimes described as a flying IED (improvised explosive device). They are typically made from a large barrel-shaped metal container that has been filled with high explosives, possibly shrapnel, oil or chemicals as well, and then dropped from a helicopter or airplane.[1] Due to the large amount of explosives (up 1,000 kilograms), their poor accuracy and indiscriminate use in populated civilian areas (including refugee camps), the resulting detonations have been devastating.[2][3][4] Critics have characterised them as weapons of terror and illegal under international conventions.[5]

A news segment aired by RT on June 18 showed two canister-like attachments under the wing of a Russian jet that bear codes identified by independent activists as those of Russian cluster munitions. http://www.rferl.org/content/russia-rt-tv-cluster-bombs-syria/27809812.html

Quote:Air strikes on the Syrian city of Aleppo have killed at least 28 people, including children, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Quote:Syrian Government forces seized control of the only road going into rebel-held eastern Aleppo on Sunday, leaving no way for people or supplies to get in or out of the opposition-controlled area. "They are only a few hundred meters away, they are having fun, waiting for any civilians to pass," 27-year-old human rights activist Muhammad Zain said.
Quote:"Really Aleppo is just another scale entirely," said James Sadri, the director of The Syria Campaign in Beirut, an advocacy group that calls for humanitarian action in the war-ravaged country. Mr Sadri said it was unjustifiable that the world had failed to act to help protect civilians in Aleppo. "You know we have got four of the five permanent security members that are now flying in Syrian airspace and yet none of them is doing anything to stop this aerial war on these civilians which is now focused on Aleppo," Mr Sadri said.

I'm going to point out, once again, that this "Observatory for Human Rights" is one guy in London. That's about as credible as asking one anti-Castro expat in a Miami condo about the situation in Cuba. But western media rebroadcasts his shit without question. “Pro-Democracy Terrorism”: The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights is a Propaganda Front funded by the EU http://www.globalresearch.ca/the-syrian-observatory-for-human-rights-is-a-propaganda-front-funded-by-the-eu-its-objective-is-to-justify-pro-democracy-terrorism/5331072 Quote:Syrian Government forces seized control of the only road going into rebel-held eastern Aleppo on Sunday, leaving no way for people or supplies to get in or out of the opposition-controlled area. And I suppose this "human rights activist" was protesting the trampling of human rights by jihadi terrorists that whole time, correct? Uh huh. There was a cessation of hostilities a month and some ago. Russia was pushing for a full cease-fire, it was the USA who was hanging back. al Nusra, al Qaida, ISIL, and their various affiliates weren't part of that cessation of hostilities, but any Syrian rebel who laid down his or her arms nad was willing to separate out from foreign jihadist would have been accepted into the cessation of hostilities. Russia repeatedly asked the USA to provide coordinates of "loyal opposition" rebels so that they wouldn't be targeted, which the USA repeatedly refused to provide. In fact, the jihadists and their Turkish, Saudi, and USA-suppliers used that time to regroup and re-arm. Jihadists and Muslim extremists have been holding part of eastern Aleppo hostage for over a year. They're about to get their comeuppance. So why don't you bitch about those fucking terrorists who are holding eastern Aleppo hostage? They had a chance to give up their arms a month ago. All they had to do was separate themselves into rebel and jihadi factions, which they failed to do. Instead, you repeat terrorist symp propaganda. That seems to make you terrorist symps too. -------------- I think it's time you disabused yourself of that pleasant little fairy tale about our fearless leaders being some sort of surrogate daddy or mommy, laying awake at night thinking about how to protect the kids. HA! In reality, they're thinking about who to sell them to so that they can get a few more shekels in their pockets.

Quote:Videos have emerged online that appear to show Syrian rebels taunting and then beheading a boy they say is a captured Palestinian pro-government fighter. One video shows five men posing with the frightened child, who could be as young as 10, in the back of a truck. One of the men grips him by the hair. The same man is later filmed apparently cutting the boy's head off. The incident is reported to have taken place in Handarat, north of Aleppo, where there has been heavy fighting. ... A report published by the human rights group Amnesty International earlier this month detailed a series of violations allegedly committed by Nour al-Din al-Zinki Movement fighters, including abductions and torture. The group is reported to have benefited from financial and military support from the US, UK, France, Turkey, Qatar and other Gulf Arab states in the past.
