Before he became President Trump’s nominee to oversee the safety of pesticides sprayed on our food, Michael Dourson sought to weaken pesticide safety standards for Monsanto and Dow.

We desperately need more chemicals, right? And tax plans that hurt the middle class, and LESS healthcare... Every day is another day in hell

I have a sister who studied up on Monsanto, pesticides,
& I think genetic alterations in crops ... She gets quite
furious about the whole thing.

In the long run, can we live on foods that are now unnatural?

Can't comment more as I don't know enough about it.

I can't live off "natural" foods... can't imagine what "unnatural" is doing to me.

Me and the kiddo had ONE slice of choc chip brioche yesterday and we were in the bathroom all morning. Damn eggs. But...BRIOCHE!

Someone should find this asshole's grandkids and hose them down with particulates, yanno, since they are so good for kids. I mean, you'd be doing them a favor, right??

Dear Universe, PLEASE give Trump a fucking Viagra-induced heart attack.
Thanks! SOO MUCH.

BTW, on the subject of particulates... We live a couple miles from a busy highway...some nights when the wind is just right, all the sulfur gasses and shit drifts our way and settles because it is heavier than cool night air, and I CANNOT go outside without having an allergic reaction to it.

So, once again... SCREW YOU, REPUBLICANS.

I can't breathe as it is, so yeah, I wish him and his to have the slow death they wish on me. Fair's fair. Plus, yanno...he cuts off birth control, I think death by Viagra would be pretty appropriate.

Trump's only qualifications for president are his age & nationality.
He doesn't know anything about his job & figures he's doing fine ...
Why wouldn't that work for a federal judge?

As far as I know, there are actually qualifications you need to be a judge. Can anybody break down what happened here without the biased spin?

Age and being a natural born citizen are the only two requirements to be president.

Trump wants judges who are as far "right" as you can go, but since judges tend to be educated people who realize fairness is more appropriate than partisan brainwashing, there aren't a lot of people who identify as far right that are in the judicial system... so Trump is scraping the bottom of the barrel to fill the slots.

Fascism is the absence of reason, and those are two qualities Trump has in abundance.

Trumps NEW shit on America

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/uraniumco-bears-ears-carve_us_5a2
ddd59e4b073789f6ae643?ncid=edlinkushpmg00000313

Earlier this month Donald Trump hailed his edict slashing Utah’s Bears Ears National Monument by some 85 percent as a great move for American citizens. But another interest was likely far more delighted: a mining company that lobbied for the change in a bid for access to uranium on the public land.

Zinke has insisted the president’s push to reduce national monuments has nothing to do with mining interests. “This is not about energy,” Zinke told reporters last week. “There is no mine within Bears Ears.”

But the president’s redrawn boundaries of Bears Ears now puts the uranium deposits outside the protected area, Utah’s Republican Gov. Gary Herbert pointed out in an interview with the Post.

I used to live in a uranium mine town. After the market cooled and new deposits of ore were found elsewhere that had a higher uranium content, all the companies abandoned the area. Now the town is left with not only rampant unemployment and economic recession, but also a toxic wasteland that people can't even walk on. The tailing ponds that dot the landscape are literally bright green and they keep finding dead wildlife in their vicinity. The cancer rate is over the moon and almost everyone has been super exposed to radon gas. It will take at least another millennium before the poison is gone and the land can be used again. The clean up and ruined lands will end up having a much more negative economic impact on the town than any positive impact seen during the active mining days. It's a travesty, and now Trump wants to repeat it.

Well, Disney IS buying much of Fox so pretty soon all the anchors could be replaced with mindless talking mice... and no one will notice

EXCEPT...

According to CNBC, Disney would only purchase a portion of Fox, with the deal likely to exclude the Fox broadcast network, Fox’s sports assets, Fox News and Fox Business. The deal also would not include Fox’s local broadcasting affiliates, CNBC reported.

Instead, Disney would gain control of the Fox movie studio, TV production and networks such as FX and National Geographic.

Here's a list of all Disney owned companies

So...close. Pretty soon all entertainment will be Blue Su...I mean...Disney. All bow to your benevolent overlords... for $8 an hour and a handful of candy

Supposedly the new acquisition is so they have more content for their streaming service... which I don't see why anyone who doesn't have small kids would want...I would probably do a 30 day trial and cancel it.

Update: I read that Comcast was making a bid for Fox.

•Comcast is planning an all-cash bid of $60 billion for most of 21st Century Fox's assets if the U.S. government approves AT&T's acquisition of Time-Warner.
•Comcast would also acquire 100 percent of U.K. satellite TV provider Sky as part of the deal, whose total value could be close to $100 billion.

UPDATED: Disney's 70 Billion dollar bid was accepted. That's BILLION with a B.

Oh, the fits about to hit the shan...

https://thinkprogress.org/trump-panama-hotel-investigation-5a49443c387

But the issues haven’t been limited to scuffles and handcuffs. Earlier this week, Panama’s government entered the fray, announcing that it would be formally investigating the matter. As such, wrote the Post’s Joshua Partlow and David Farenthold, the standoff has suddenly “turned a theoretical concern about the Trump administration — that, someday, the president’s private business might be investigated by a foreign government — into a reality.”

The history of the Panama hotel is as sketchy as any associated with the Trump brand. When the building — described by Trump as Ivanka’s “baby” — was known as the Trump Ocean Club, it served as one of the most noteworthy targets for Colombian drug cartels to launder their money. A 2017 report from Global Witness found that the building, which was “one of Trump’s most lucrative licensing deals” during his pre-presidency days, raked in “proceeds from Colombian cartels’ narcotics trafficking” — and that Trump himself was “one of the beneficiaries” of the laundering.
There is no indication Trump was outwardly aware of any of the cartels’ involvement in Trump property purchases. However, the signs of money laundering were obvious: many of the units were purchased in both bulk and in cash, for instance, and several were purchased via “bearer shares,” one of the most notorious means of using luxury properties to launder dirty money.

What’s more, many of the purchasers were anonymous shell companies — a number of which contained “Trump” in their names. As Reuters reported, in 2013 the property’s first primary broker, who worked closely with Ivanka on the building, said, “When I was in Panama I was regularly laundering money for more than a dozen companies.”

According to the Global Witness report, this is a common feature in Trump business dealings.

The Environmental Protection Agency will no longer evaluate asbestos in homes and businesses as a danger or health risk, as Newsweek reports. Scott Pruitt announced the decision last Friday under President Trump, who believes asbestos is “100 percent safe, once applied.” According to the Abestos Nation Campaign, asbestos kills 12,000 to 15,000 Americans every year. Fifty-five countries have completely banned the use of asbestos in any case, including the United Kingdom, South Africa, Japan and so on, in spite of which the EPA decided it was no longer necessary to evaluate the health risks of this chemical

Nope. Millennials in America are by far the largest generation prone to suicide that the country has ever seen. This began long before Trump was in office.

I don't think that it is necessary to evaluate the health risks of asbestos in 2018. We already know that it's dangerous and even deadly if removed without the proper gear.

That seems to be the only thing happening here. We're just not going to waste any more money deciding if it is deadly or not. That article doesn't seem to have any basis for the other claims that it makes, and certainly doesn't back up it's clickbait title with any information provided in the article.

Nope. Millennials in America are by far the largest generation prone to suicide that the country has ever seen. This began long before Trump was in office.

The most reasonable analysis I've heard in the past day pointed out the genesis as Department of Education. The current suicide trend has been repeatedly identified as starting around 1999. I cannot confirm or verify that specific stat. But it has been linked to Columbine, which did happen then.
The Department of Education was enacted in 1979 and established in 1980.

I did not catch if the analysis pointed out the dissolution of Physical Education in schools, the subsequent exchange of fitness and physical knowledge for pot and other drugs - and the ensured escalation of substances.

In the biorythm models, the 3 phases of mental, physical, and emotional development and exercise are interrelated, and missing a robust physical component will allow the emotional to suffer.
