Also, interestingly enough, there was a massive blizzard in 1717, and 1816 was the year it never got warm that summer. 1913 and 1922 also saw massive totals of 47 and 36 in storms. Late teens years are notorious for turbulence.

Big Snow may not be this year (although my arthritis is already in suck mode), but I have a feeling it's coming soon.

Therefore, I am going to use this thread to see if any of us are any good at prognosticating...




I am guessing that there will be a major snow storm in 2020 with at least 30 in of snow somewhere in the US.


So, pick a year and pick a snow total between 20-80 inches.

Feel free to go as far into the future as your zen allows

I heard it's been a high of 10 below the last couple days in my hood, too cold to snow.
Supposed to warm up to 10 above and maybe snow.

Heard a guy on radio talking about how these storms weren't so uncommon in the late 50's to the early 70's. Back when #scientists knew we were headed for a new ice age.

Now every storm , how ever completely normal and pattern fitting, is proof of AGW.

Local weather says today is a record, 23" and counting.

And the heavy snow is expected to be tomorrow.

Folks are talking about how historic this is, but only talking about 30" or similar.
A few days ago the weatherguessers said that it was April snow, so it would melt right away and not accumulate. So I let my guard down.

Wrong. Everything is closed, libraries, churches, colleges. My city Street, across the road from the High School, has not been plowed since the snow started, except a one-lane path. The plow trucks had already been mostly converted to spring/summer use.

And yes, a few blocks away Lambeau Field is closed.
