Trump is a very sick man. Did you see the “Central Park Five” story on CBS yesterday morning? The five black 14- and 15-year-old boys — now 44- and 45-year-old men — falsely accused and convicted of raping a jogger in 1989?

At the time, Trump ran full-page ads (“BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY”)
"They should be forced to suffer. I want to hate these murderers and I always will. I am not looking to psychoanalyze them or understand them, I am looking to punish them." Trump is a very sick man.

As you’ll see when you watch, if anyone should have gone to jail . . . other than the actual rapist, of course (who would later confess and whose DNA was the only DNA that fit the crime) . . . it should have been the police, not those entirely innocent boys.

Yet, faced with indisputable evidence that they had been falsely convicted and imprisoned, candidate Trump in 2016 showed no remorse for having suggested they be killed — indeed, he continued to maintain they were guilty.

You call someone a "very sick man" because he formed a snap emotional judgment about someone's guilt or innocence, and refused to change his mind when real evidence came to light? Gee .... who does that remind me of ...?

In any case, WTH does that have to do with the fact that the security agencies, foreign nations, and former Obama officials conspired to unseat an elected President, with the full cooperation of the "free" press?

You have now made a post at the top of the new page.

For a thread like this, I would suggest editing additional content into that post, for top of the page reference. That additional content would be a list of the top posts, the most informative, most revealing posts of the first 50 posts. Perhaps their date/time, or even their message ID number.
You might also copy that completed list into the OP.

You've got a lot of blockbuster posts so far, but they've become buried amongst drivel, spittle, and manure posted by others.

Index of posts revealing new reports (of old news which most of us already knew).

#2 - 27 April - Obama White House, Podesta, Biden forcing Ukraine to help with conspiracy.
#3 - 27 April - Comey/Rosenstein.

#17 - 2 May - Nellie Ohr.
#19 - 2 May - Nellie Ohr lying to Congress.
#31 - 3 May - Barr Investigating FBI "Spying"
#32 - 3 May - Azra Turk is first named FBI Spy sent to spy on Trump. Then FBI denied it.
#35 - 3 May - FBI's Honeypot Spytrap against Trump, MSM keeping mum.
#37 - 10 May - FBI, Steele lies are falling apart - link only.

Signym, Trump is a very sick man because he purchased ads demanding execution of the wrong people, innocent people, people too young to be executed even in Texas. That was NOT a snap emotional judgment by Trump. And Trump would not let it drop, even after decades.

Trump was still a very sick man when he kept making false accusations against these five innocent people after they were released, one by one over the years. Every time one of them was released, Trump went nuts. Then when they were paid millions for wrongful imprisonment, Trump went nuts again.

Trump cannot believably explain his bad behavior toward the Central Park Five, bad behavior that stretches out for decades.

Trump has gotten no better at explaining anything else about why he is such an ill man, despised by many. What is his motive? Don't ask Trump because he doesn't know. Maybe he ought to see the psychiatrist. There are hundreds that have diagnosed Trump with a mental disorder. Here is one:
www.alternet.org/2019/03/trump-is-a-sociopath-harvard-psychiatrist-bre
aks-down-the-presidents-severe-continuous-mental-disturbance
/

It is just a theory, but Trump's mental illness might be what motivates a very public, not secret, plot to depose Trump, sending him to a psych hospital.

This is old news, along with Trump's bankruptcies, divorces, tax cheating, sexual practices, his threats to sue everybody over the littlest things, etc. People were asking before he was elected if it was sensible to let a mentally deranged man like Trump to have the nuclear codes. But the majority of the electoral college voted that this concern was not disqualifying.

I hope you voted for Trump because you hated Hillary. That I can respect. But if you expected positive accomplishments from Pres. Trump, more than only a huge tax cut for the wealthy, you didn't know before voting about Trump's history as a dummy businessman. I knew he'd be a dumb President.

Trump: “My whole life I’ve been greedy, greedy, greedy. I’ve grabbed all the money I could get. I’m so greedy. But now I want to be greedy for the United States. I want to grab all that money. I’m going to be greedy for the United States.” What a dummy he is.

This morning's tweet shows how crazy Trump is. But if you don't understand how tariffs work, you won't know how crazy Trump is.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

Their is no reason for the U.S. Consumer to pay the Tariffs, which take effect on China today. This has been proven recently when only 4 points were paid by the U.S., 21 points by China because China subsidizes product to such a large degree. Also, the Tariffs can be.....

....completely avoided if you by from a non-Tariffed Country, or you buy the product inside the USA (the best idea). That’s Zero Tariffs. Many Tariffed companies will be leaving China for Vietnam and other such countries in Asia. That’s why China wants to make a deal so badly!...

..There will be nobody left in China to do business with. Very bad for China, very good for USA! But China has taken so advantage of the U.S. for so many years, that they are way ahead (Our Presidents did not do the job). Therefore, China should not retaliate-will only get worse!

3:40 AM - 13 May 2019

If Trump wasn't crazy, he'd be getting up a 3:40 AM not to tweet but to study the economics of trade.

A very public plot to depose Trump:

Donald Trump will be denied the historic honour of addressing parliament during his state visit to the UK next month, government sources have confirmed.

In a major snub to the US President, lingering hopes of him delivering a speech to MPs and peers have been dashed following defiant opposition by Commons Speaker John Bercow, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and others.

Although Barack Obama made a landmark address in Westminster Hall in 2011, Trump will not be allowed the same privilege after the visit’s organisers decided to avoid a diplomatic row over his “racism and sexism”.

JONGSSTRAW

In 2016 Hillary and the DNC spent, oh, only about $1 Billion, that's Billion with a "B" dollars in tv ads spreading the same sad bullshit about Trump as all the Trump-deranged psycho leftists here have been doing ever since Trump beat her corrupt fat ass in an electoral runaway. Wait until Trump wins again in 2020. I think the whole fucking miserable lot will be ready to pull a Jonestown-type event to cope with it.
Hey, I'll gladly supply the cups.

eta: So Hillary spent, ie. WASTED, a billion dollars. Trump spent about 1/10th of that. Think of what Hillary's $1 Billion could have been used better for, things like, oh let's see, helping kids with cancer, battered women's shelters, animal rescue efforts, etc. etc. At the very least she should have siphoned off some that cash for lipo or cool sculpting on her bronto-thighs.

Compared to Slick Willy, Obamination, Hilliary, and even Jiminy Cotta, Trump comes off as the most sensible, reasonable, rational, calm genius to run for President.
Horrendously egregious tactical analogical query for the Dems to concoct. Or maybe it was Trump's Team of geniuses who came up with it.

None of the Republican Congressmen from Texas were anything but saboteurs during the Obama administration. The Republican voters wanted Obama to fail. In contrast to Obama the hard working, healthy President, Trump is nutty as a fruitcake and makes a rotten President. There is no solid reason for anybody, Republican or Democrat or the British Parliament, to prefer crazy lazy Trump to sane conscientious Mike Pence as President. That is why it appears that there is a "secret" plot to depose Trump. It's "secret" only because they don't want to say out loud that Trump is defective. But the smarter Republicans understand they would be better off with Pence replacing him.

. . .

THIS IS NOT a defense of Trump.

Signym, you are an idiot if you cannot recognize why even Republican politicians (at least the ones who aren't stupid) conspire in their hearts to boot Trump out of the White House: Trump is obviously unusual.

None of his predecessors in Republican Party leadership engage in wild Trump-style tweeting, and few other people in GOP politics seem nearly as obsessed with cable news coverage. Trump evidently has a personal soft spot for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin that few Republican politicians share, and his approach to trade policy remains at odds with the bulk of the GOP and the business community.

The Charlottesville situation is, similarly, pretty unique to Trump. A fictional President Marco Rubio probably would not have been looked up to by white nationalists as a fellow traveler, and he certainly wouldn’t have drawn a moral equivalence between white nationalists and anti-racist counterprotesters.

Trump is also an outlier in the sense that he is not only credibly accused of a range of sexual assaults but was even caught on tape seeming to confess he had done so before. He is very unusual in the scope of his potential financial conflicts of interest in office and unprecedented among modern presidents in terms of the opacity of his financial arrangements.

The point, however, is that Republican politicians are broadly complicit in his sins. Republican politicians (again, the ones who aren't stupid) wish Trump would die and let Mike Pence move into the White House, but they cannot wish aloud or else the Republican voters will remove them. Converse with JewelStaiteFan, the Trump-lover, if you want a dumb-ass and, unsurprisingly, a Republican voter.

Barr taps U.S. attorney in Connecticut to investigate origins of Russia probe

Attorney General William P. Barr has tapped John H. Durham, the U.S. attorney for the District of Connecticut, to investigate the origins of the special counsel’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Barr picked Durham in recent weeks to work on the review, which is designed to ensure the U.S. government’s “intelligence collection activities” related to the Trump campaign were “lawful and appropriate,” a person familiar with the decision said.

Barr had confirmed the review publicly, though the person leading it was not previously known. Durham’s selection was first reported by the New York Times.

Durham was confirmed as a U.S. attorney in February 2018 and had previously earned a reputation as a dogged career prosecutor tapped by previous attorneys general for other high-profile roles.

In 1999, Attorney General Janet Reno appointed Durham to investigate law enforcement corruption in Boston, and more recently, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. called on him to investigate the treatment of CIA detainees and the destruction of videotapes.

You know, Signym, there will be no sudden revealing of a "secret" plot to depose Trump. It is all out in the open that Republican politicians want to see Trump dead and buried, they just can't say it and still get reelected. That is why Attorney General Jeff Sessions did not start this investigation. Sessions knew, although he never said it, that Trump is a slimy creep. But Attorney General Barr is the kind of a lick-spittle who will jump when Trump gives a political order.

It IS a secret plot because "they just can't say it", AND ...

They, and you, have no problem with the deep state employing extra-legal means to get rid of an elected President, AND ...

Therefore they, and you, hate democracy and our democratic institutions because you're Ok with overturning the results if you don't like them.

Does that just about say it all?

mmmmmm.
You missed "Democratic Republic" among the things he hates. Aka The Constitution. So the "extra-legal" likely should have been extra-Constitutional.

The Trump voters don't get a vote in the House of Representatives. Your romantic notion that we ever lived in a Democracy where the Trump voters decide impeachment is incorrect:

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/05/congress-subpoena-fight-tr
ump-impeachment-mueller-john-roberts.html

The House, without calling a single witness or demanding a single document, could impeach the president based on the current record alone. There is little doubt that Volume II of the Mueller report, even as redacted, suffices to prove multiple acts of obstruction of justice. More than 800 former federal prosecutors — myself included — have signed on to a letter explaining how the Mueller report proves an indictable case of obstruction. Coupled with the allegations of complicity in campaign finance crimes against “Individual 1” in the Southern District of New York, as well as Trump’s resistance to House subpoenas — which was an impeachment count against President Richard Nixon — the current record is more than sufficient to draft a formidable bill of impeachment.

The House would then designate a subset of its members to serve as “managers” in the impeachment process. The managers are basically the president’s prosecutors. They present the evidence to the Senate, select the witnesses they wish to call, choose the documents they wish to submit, and make opening and final arguments in support of conviction.

Once the managers are chosen, the case would move to the Senate. And under the Senate rules that have governed all impeachment proceedings since 1986, there is a speedy and efficient vehicle for holding exactly the kind of hearings that House Democrats have been seeking.

Crucially, a Senate impeachment trial could not get mired in multiple layers of district court and appellate court litigation. Under Article I, Section 3, Clause 6 of the Constitution, “when the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside.” As the “Presiding Officer,” under Senate impeachment Rule V, the chief justice has the power “to make and issue … all orders, mandates, writs, and precepts authorized by these rules or by the Senate.” The chief justice likewise has full authority to “direct all the forms of proceedings while the Senate is sitting for the purpose of trying an impeachment, and all forms during the trial not otherwise specially provided for.” According to the Senate rules, it is the chief justice as presiding officer who gets to “rule on all questions of evidence including, but not limited to, questions of relevancy, materiality, and redundancy of evidence and incidental questions.” And while Rule VII permits a member of the Senate to demand a Senate vote on the chief’s rulings, it is difficult to imagine even Mitch McConnell seeking to overrule Chief Justice John Roberts. Indeed, no senator challenged a single ruling by Chief Justice William Rehnquist during the Bill Clinton impeachment trial.

Whatever then happens for any given witness or exhibit, the chief’s rulings are apt to be prompt and efficient. There would be no reams of legal briefing, no extended oral arguments, no endless appeals. The parties would cut right to the chase, and the substance of the Mueller report allegations — not to mention the role of Individual 1 in providing hush money on the eve of the 2016 election — would play out on live TV.

I'd love to see it happen. I'd love to see all the Trump voters, and especially senile old fool Trump, foaming at the mouth angry about it being unconstitutional or undemocratic or illegal or witch-hunting or whatever Trump wants to call it. Maybe he will use all those words. I really want to see how crazy with anger Trump can get.

If the House leadership is serious about affording the public a chance to see for itself what is otherwise lodged in 400-plus pages of the Mueller report — and possibly developing additional lines of inquiry not addressed by Mueller — it may want to revisit its aversion to impeachment. And who knows — perhaps the White House will back down from its stonewalling once the prospect of impeachment is back on the table.

I was wondering if JewelStaiteFan was always a dummy. Yes. Going back to one of his earliest posts in 2007:

Is Mal’s word no good? Here's what sticks in my craw. In Safe, Mal tells Simon to go off, DON'T WORRY, WE WON'T LEAVE WITHOUT YOU. Then, when Book needs Simon's help, they all take off without Simon and River, even after Mal is reminded they are left behind.

This is what foreign policy looks like when you have no strategy (and this partially explains why there is a not-so-secret plot to depose Trump):

As president he named himself negotiator-in-chief and tried to cajole North Korea’s Kim Jong Un to abandon nuclear weapons. He reimposed tough economic sanctions on Iran, betting he could force the ayatollahs to change their ways. He vowed to force China, Canada, Mexico and the European Union to give up what he called unfair trade practices. He backed an uprising in Venezuela aimed at toppling its leftist president, Nicolas Maduro. He declared victory against Islamic State and ordered U.S. troops home from Syria. In his spare time, he asked his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to arrange peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

He has achieved none of those outcomes.

But he might declare war on Iran. And impose tariffs on European cars. And commit the United States to Israeli annexation of whatever territory Bibi wants. And keep us in an endless trade war with China. Who knows?

I wonder when Republican Congressmen will finally get tired of all the "winning" and depose Trump? V.P. Mike Pence is patiently standing by, ready to take control when and if the Republican majority in the Senate decides to kick Trump's ass back to New York.

Comey is the guy who called Hillary an un-indicted criminal on three different occasions before the election. The final time he pulled that publicity stunt was only days before the election when he said he would reopen the investigation into Hillary if she was elected. Only after the election did Comey claim he didn't think calling Hillary a criminal would make any difference to the voters. Except if fewer than 80,000 voters switched their votes, Hillary would have won the Electoral College. She won the popular vote by 3,000,000.

Clinton's 2.1% margin of victory ranks third among defeated candidates, according to statistics from US Elections Atlas. Andrew Jackson won by more than 10% in 1824 but was denied the presidency, which went to John Quincy Adams. In 1876, Samuel Tilden received 3% more votes than Rutherford B. Hayes, who eventually triumphed by one electoral vote.

When Mal kills somebody he shouldn't, at least the dead don't complain, unlike Hillary complaining about Comey killing her chances of being President.

If Hillary had been the kind of person who should be President, rather than her thinking like a small town lawyer, she could have convinced the Electoral College to vote for Mitt Romney for President.

Hillary's not-so-secret plot to depose Trump before he was sworn in as President:

First, she needed to convince the Democratic Electors to all vote for Mitt rather than Hillary. Second, she needed to convince at least a few Republican electors to switch their votes from Trump to Mitt. That would have aligned the Electoral College of 2016 with the intended purpose of the College in 1787:

"A small number of persons, selected by their fellow-citizens from the general mass, will be most likely to possess the information and discernment requisite to such complicated tasks." - Alexander Hamilton
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Electoral_College#Original
_plan

But Hillary and Trump acted as if the Electoral College was a simple adding machine, rather than what the writers of the Constitution intended -- the College will use their best human judgment to make a decision.

Obviously, I was being sarcastic.

Just like Mueller, the on-again/off-again relationship the lefties here had with Comey was rather comical to watch.

I lost track of whether or not they currently viewed him as a good guy or a bad guy. Was just looking for some clarification.

Obama's Top FBI Lawyer Distances Himself From Steele Dossier As DOJ Investigation Looms

James Baker - the Obama FBI's top attorney (general counsel) said on Friday that he was skeptical about the Steele dossier, and "concerned" about its veracity when the agency received it prior to the 2016 US election, according to the Daily Caller's Chuck Ross.

"It was more information that we viewed, that I viewed, skeptically from the outset, and I was concerned about it and had a jaundiced eye, or looked at it with a jaundiced eye right from the outset," Baker told MSNBC's Chuck Todd, adding "Steele was and had been a source that we thought was reliable. He’s reporting all this information. It looks alarming. We took it seriously, but we tried to vet it."

The dossier - a collection of memos compiled by an ex-British spy funded by Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign and the DNC - was used by the FBI to obtain a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant to spy on Trump campaign aide Carter Page. Steele alleged that Page provided the Trump campaign a Kremlin backchannel during the election.

Baker also told Todd that he thinks the FISA warrants against Page would have been granted without the dossier, and took a pregnant pause when asked if the dossier was used to obtain FISA warrants on other people - saying "I don’t think I should comment on that, I’m not sure what else the government has confirmed," and adding "I don’t want to confirm or deny anything about other potential FISA applications."

Well... If they were applied for, they were approved. You could count on one hand the amount of FISA warrants that were actually turned down since the court's creation. It's an unconstitutional rubber-stamping outfit.

If nothing else, I'm glad that this whole fiasco has brought the FISA court to the public's attention. All it is, is a court that will provide warrants that can not be legally obtained through any other court in the US.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Do you have facts to back up that claim? How many FISC Applications have been presented? How many FISA Warrants have been approved? How many denied/declined?

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

There will probably not be many important entries for the near future. The investigation does NOT depend on the IG, who is more like an auditor. Instead, it has been handed over to a Special Prosecutor. Also, Barr is apprently ignoring whatever Huber has done (which was "not much", according to several important witnesses who said he never interviewed them) so we will have to wait for the Prosecutor to write his reaport, and for indictment (if any) to occur.

Well... places like NPR voiced strong opposition to it, back before Trump that is.

NPR's Dina Temple-Raston has this report on how the court works.

DINA TEMPLE-RASTON, BYLINE: The criticism of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court is simple: that it's a rubber stamp, and that the government always gets what it wants. And here's a number that seem to support that: 1,856. That's the number of applications presented to the court by the government last year. And it's also the number that the court approved: 100 percent success. ~Quote, Circa 2013

Oh look... Motherjones weighs in, in 2013 too...

But fast-forward to 2017, and it looks like NPR changed their mind.

NPR Pretends FISA Court Is Not a Rubber Stamp

Google answers, today (05/19/2019):

Quote:

Question: What percentage of FISA warrants are approved?

Answer: Over the entire 33-year period, the FISA court granted 33,942 warrants, with only 12 denials – a rejection rate of 0.03 percent of the total requests. This does not include the number of warrants that were modified by the FISA court.

Rubber stamp.

Donald J. Trump tweeted this morning @realDonaldTrump

Why are the Democrats not looking into all of the crimes committed by Crooked Hillary and the phony Russia Investigation? They would get back their credibility. Jerry Nadler, Schiff, would have a whole new future open to them. Perhaps they could even run for President!

I know the answer to Trump's two rhetorical questions: Congress is the checks and balances on the President. But Hillary is not the President, so whatever crimes she committed are Trump's Department of Justice's responsibility, not Congress's. With the FBI, if Congress was writing legislation to reorganize the FBI so that another "Russia Investigation" was impossible, Congress might be looking into the matter. But Congress does not see a problem with Mueller's Report damning Trump or how the previous head of the FBI, Robert Mueller III, got started on that job immediately after Trump fired the other head of the FBI, James Comey. It is Trump's problem, not Congress's. If Trump wants to fire people at the FBI and arrest Robert Mueller III or James Comey, he can go right ahead and do it, if it is that important to his peace of mind, but it is still not Congress's problem. It is Trump's.
