Glad the temps are too your liking. I hope you can get everything done for your week.

There are times when I think I could use a hepa but just can't swing it money wise and those things are heavy to get home. So nope. I just try to keep up with dust the best that I can.

Email sent might possibly have a face to face meeting with the lady helping me. She's offered either Thursday or Saturday. She doesn't drive far anymore and so her husband will bring her out and go and see his mother. Then pick her back up again.

So, do I. I have to hope back on the National Book publisher train before I see her. And check my email to see what she said. She's off at a poetry reading up the coast a ways. Won't be back until tomorrow but she might have got back to me on Sunday. I can still answer email.

Wow, still 80 at 8:30?? At least around here it cools down in the evening! It's 70 (21C) right now (8:45).

The weather was supposed to cool down. It did, a bit, but also got pretty humid. Bleh.

Nonetheless I decided the weeds couldn't wait. The aptly named puncture vine was getting out of hand, and needed to be pulled before it could develop those noxious seeds that really do puncture bicycle tires and soft soled shoes and feet. I managed to get all the ones on either side of the walkway, and tomorrow I'll check next to the driveway.

It's too bad that it has such noxious seeds bc otherwise it would make a pretty, drought tolerant low growing groundcover.

Also don't you hate it when the grocery store decides to move everything around. Twice in the last week I have had to ask where something is because the grocery store has decided to move everything around. Margarines been moved. Cereals have been moved. What was the candy aisle is now the soup aisle.

More than once, when wearing Crocs (rubberized clogs) or soft-soled shoes, I'd feel something really poking into my foot, take off my shoe to shake out a stone and still have that painful spot. It wasn't until I figured out to look at the bottom and found a seed spike stuck thru the sole far enough to actually poke a small hole in my foot that I solved the problem.

I know and it is starting to drive me buggy. I don't think the veggies will get away with out being moved either but not sure. I know the deli is safe. I walked into the cereal down around where the cheese is or was. That's been moved to where the margarine was. Ugh!

Back and done. Grocery store is a disaster. Had to ask for help again and another lady needed the clerk after me. Ran into a lady I know. She used to work at my local library, she asked me if I was playing a new game, "Find the product." Had to tell her that I was.

Also emailed my friend in UK to find out how her son's wedding went. She said it got off wonderfully but she fell apart when she got home. She's getting a new kitty tomorrow, so that will cheer her up a bit.

Sounds like you're still moving forward. Did you get to see her in person? I hope so! Emails are convenient but they're so tedious, if you type as badly as I do.

Been pushing myself as hard as joint pain and energy allow. I noticed if I take an hour or two out of a day to do yardwork for a couple of days I really have to make up the housework the following days. Which I suppose works in a way, bc after just a few hours of yardwork I'm kind of crippled.

This pain syndrome all started with a 10-day course of Levaquin antibiotic for one of my many sinus infections, all the way back in 2019 IIRC, and the tendon pain flared so bad I stopped taking the antibiotic on day 8. It's an autoimmune problem, one of two.

I have to say, my immune system is fucked. It attacks things it shouldn't (allergens, me) but missed cancer cells.

Beyond my pay grade. Back to Dr Rheumatologist.

On the plus: today is "clean out the frig" day bc tomorrow is shopping day. I have some bitchin' leftover beef vegetable soup, and equally good oven "fried" chicken, kafta meatballs, the makings for quinoa "tabouleh", salad fixings, and avocados from the tree. I'm sure everyone can find something they like, and I don't have to cook. But I better pick more avocados.

My husband hates chicken. He refuses to eat dark meat bc it has a stronger taste. So I have to gussy it up somehow. The "oven fried" chicken is marinated in a milk, salt, sugar, vinegar and spice mixture, which flavors and tenderizes the chicken, and is coated with a mixture of panko, parmesan, and olive oil before baking. I also make persian chicken, chicken enchiladas, and chicken parmigiana.

He also hates anything but ground beef bc it sticks between his teeth. So I finally figured to cut beef chuck into SMALL bite sizes and simmer it for at least 2 1/2 hours before adding vegetables. I used Better than Bouillon and tomato sauce for flavor, plus celery, carrots, potatoes, and whatever other veggies I have on hand (in this case zucchini and green beans, but it could be corn or beet greens or anything). It turned out great! Family loved it!

I didn't feel right last night. Low energy after getting a lot of sleep in the previous 24 hours. So I went to bed fairly early and was in and out of sleep most of the night. About an hour before I wanted to be up this morning, I woke up with my glasses still on my face and they were all fogged up. It's when I realized that I was in the middle of a cold sweat.

It was like that time I got real sick and had the cold sweats from the fever, and when I got out of bed the cold just ripped right through me. But I had a fever then. No fever right now. It's also pretty COLD in my house, with that little A/C really doing its job and the temps outside not being as brutal as they were. Even going upstairs to the bathroom was rough because I had to pass the A/C room to get into the bathroom to take a shower, and I had my blanket wrapped around me because my shirt and boxers were wet as if I jumped into a pool wearing them.

Real low energy right now. Hoping my coffee kick starts me. That was the longest shower I've taken in a while, and I didn't want to get out. The hot water felt nice. Getting my clothes out of my icebox bedroom where the A/C was after the shower was not fun.

It's weird. I feel as though I have a fever or maybe I did while I was sleeping for a few hours last night. But I don't feel sick. Just bleh.

At least the sweating is done and I'm not getting my dry clothes wet right now.

Got a few errands I want to run and that's it for the day, so that's good. I wanted to get up to the post office first thing, so that's the only reason there was a time issue.

Well, THAT doesn't sound good. In my experience, people don't go into full body-wide sweats for nothing.

I hope you checked your blood sugar. Were you hypoglycemic during that time?

Another possibility is that you were in the beginning stages shock from a bacterial infection somewhere. It doesn't necessarily hurt at the infection site.

Another (worse) possibility is sepsis, where bacteria actually enter your bloodstream. SIX, you can go from "bleh" to dead in two days. I knew two people who died of sepsis, one of them worked for me. He took Friday off to take his son to Disneyland and by Tuesday they were removing life support. I attended his funeral.

You have a permanent hole in your skin that usually works well but can lead to all kinds of trouble

In this case, a localized infection caused the CGM to misread glucose levels

The title is self explanatory. There is more than one instance found on the internet.

Toxic-Shock Syndrome in a Patient Using a Continuous Subcutaneous Insulin Infusion Pump--Idaho

If either of these is the problem, it could be serious, even life- threatening. These arent something to tough out. If you can't rule out hypoglycemia, better in this case to be alarmist and see a doctor if symptoms don't go away today.
If you get worse, call 911.

I don't currently have any problems at either of my insertion sites that I can tell. No redness or itching. I last changed my CGM maybe 4 days ago, and I just inserted a new 3-day insulin pod very late last night right before going to bed. As of now, at least, my appetite seems fine, and I don't feel any nausea.

I think I probably should pull out my test strips and see if we're matching up right though. Not a bad idea there.

When I woke up my sugar was over 100 and I wasn't in the middle of any low-sugar event. It's possible that somewhere earlier in the night I was, so I should go back and see if that happened, but I would think that unless I was really sweating buckets during it before it leveled out that I would have dried off a bit by the time I got up. It was a lot of sweat.
