If I had that same job today, the company is paying no less than $15.00/hour nationwide, and I would have seen significant tax savings had I worked the same amount of hours and the standard deduction were doubled. I really hope they do this. This federal tax break for individuals making $32,000 or less will be a huge boon to those who need it most. It's good for everybody else too, since that will equate to roughly another $1,700 in tax savings for everyone making over $32,000 a year as well, since they don't start paying any federal taxes on any of the money below $32,000 instead of only $16,000. (a 12% savings on federal taxes which is going to be levied on those in the under $48,000 bracket) And on a personal level, I'll feel a lot better about working when my tax dollars aren't going to fund things like USAid, trandgender surgeries for prison inmates, abortion sprees and worldwide wars. OH... and on a side note, get with the fucking program, Indiana. How come my standard deduction in Indiana is only $1,000 and hasn't risen a fucking penny since I moved here 14 years ago? Especially after Democrats in Lake County raised the County income tax from the lowest in the state to the highest in the state back in the mid 2010s. Under 2025 deductions, I wouldn't have paid anything, but that's at $11.50 per hour. If I had that same job today, the company is paying no less than $15.00/hour nationwide, and I would have seen significant tax savings had I worked the same amount of hours and the standard deduction were doubled. I really hope they do this. This federal tax break for individuals making $32,000 or less will be a huge boon to those who need it most. It's good for everybody else too, since that will equate to roughly another $1,700 in tax savings for everyone making over $32,000 a year as well, since they don't start paying any federal taxes on any of the money below $32,000 instead of only $16,000. (a 12% savings on federal taxes which is going to be levied on those in the under $48,000 bracket) And on a personal level, I'll feel a lot better about working when my tax dollars aren't going to fund things like USAid, trandgender surgeries for prison inmates, abortion sprees and worldwide wars. OH... and on a side note, get with the fucking program, Indiana. How come my standard deduction in Indiana is only $1,000 and hasn't risen a fucking penny since I moved here 14 years ago? Especially after Democrats in Lake County raised the County income tax from the lowest in the state to the highest in the state back in the mid 2010s. I get invited over and she drags me into the kitchen to help her with things that she should have already done. They never eat when they say they are and so I end up eating before I go to the house to eat. I can read them like a baaaad book. Relaxed is exactly what I want. I can eat when I want, do as I please and best of all no Christmas music or religion thrown in my face. Aaah, sweet peace.

Just OOC BRENDA, being near the ocean, does your area have a good selection of seafood? Or is it pretty much like anyplace? Around here, you can only find fresh caught fish if you go to the fish market on the docks in the morning, when the fishermen come in. Or so I'm told. I've never been bc it's too far away for casual shopping.
