Off in a bit to get a couple of things done. Think it's suppose to be dry today. Might have to go the cardiologists office to make an appointment as I spent 10 minutes on the phone this morning trying to get them. Can't leave a voice mail as I am not sure when I will be back in.

Got back a while ago and it is a soggy, soggy day up here in the Northlands.

Note to self: Never use old sayings or make jokes based on pop culture from when I was a kid. Ugh! I am surrounded by rotten kids.

The examples from today as the young woman was looking for the rest of my seizure med in a draw. I said it wasn't "a fit day out for man nor beast. Blank look.

Told the boss what is happening and he said getting double check was a good idea and I agreed with him. Just tired of being poked and prodded at. He thought that was funny. As I was leaving, I said, "Maybe they will find that my heart is 3x too big."
Pharmacist in training started to say what that was medically. I had to explain it was joke. Blank faces again. Then I said you know the Grinch. He laughed then and I left.

Like I said. Rotten kids.

Out in the rain. Need to do things. Have to get a birthday card for a friend in Alberta and something to stick in it. 22nd birthday for this young woman. ACK! I am getting old. First time I met her she would have been around 12.

Can you open the book directly from your USB stick now?

If so, you can now open that book from any laptop or PC that you put it in that has Office installed.

Even if you don't have office installed and one day you're in a position where you'd need to pay for a subscription version of Word in the future, you can always easily open it up in Google Docs for free with a gmail account. It would take a little bit for you to get used to the differences there, but at least for now there are free alternatives if this ever becomes an issue.

As for the photos, I would first "Create New Folder" on the USB stick and name it something like "Images" or "Photos" before you copied all of your photos to the drive, just to make certain you're not dumping everything just on the highest folder in the tree. If you had a ton of photos you were moving and you just move them to the highest level of the drive which is where I assume your book now is, you're going to kind of bury your book under the pictures.

It would still be there alphabetically (or any other way you sorted your files), but you'd probably have to dig for it any time you wanted to pull it up, or at least use the search function to narrow down the results. That could get annoying for you after a while. (And though it's not really hard to fix, I think it would be fairly complex to explain how to do it online to you, and with a clean drive with just your book on it we don't need to muck it up, right?)

You can even do things like have a folder called "Book", and then have a sub-folder called "Notes" if you added things or came across things that are giving you inspiration to write something further at one point that you didn't want to lose. With these nested sub-folders, you can really do a good job of keeping your Book stuff separate from your Images.

And like I said before, if you ever got into downloading some music that you aren't able to find in physical media, you have TONS of room on that stick for hundreds if not over 1,000 songs too, so you can also make a "Music" folder to save any music files to as well. It's a very, very useful little piece of tech for the relatively low price.

Okay, I think I understand that. It's not a ton of pictures. Just like about 10 if even that. Will tackle some more over next weekend

Hi SIG. Yeah, all posts even on old threads are there.

SIX has been a biiiiiig help and I've also got some tech help from local library. So between the two. I think I should be alright.

I hear ya. I missed this place too while it was down.
