No offence, but you should post this under 'General Discussions'. It doesn't belong in RWED.

Non taken.

I didn't mean to post it here, actually I have no idea how it got here instead of general discussions.

Must have been where I started the thread.

Chris, you're pretty close to NY then. It's curious how it is, but geographic proximity seems to fortell political similarity. Fletch's being a resident of Texas surprises me not at all. It's probably that more than the brit thing that's the wedge between us.

I'll warn ya, being in the RWED, this thread does have the danger of turning in too a heated discussion of which state has the best trees and beer...

Snake Plisskin and me have one big thing in common; we both escaped from New York. It's my home state, Schenectady when young, Hempstead L.I. when not.
I miss seein' the Statue of Liberty at a whim.
But boy do I not miss the traffic.

I like Fletch, and I see you and he as having more in common than not, although the areas of disagreement can get pretty heated....
And I can tell ya here in western Mass there are plenty of blind Bush worshipers...it's scary sometimes. Some just can't do the math, no logic classes in school, and such.
It's a bit like retardation; you don't know who's gonna be affected by it (although the south has a history of lack of education...).

Hi! Joining late because I usually avoid real wold stuff like the plague - too much yelling!

I live in Vermont, but that's after 9 years in Boston and I go back lots. There's nooooo browncoats near me at all. Glad there are some of you in Boston!

I totally agree about the beer, btw. Can't get Belhaven anywhere around here, on tap or otherwise!

Hope you ain't dissing the great State of Texas son, down here we have a name for folks that do that --- Commies. But don't worry down here we still have Texas justice, "he needed killin" is still a valid defence and for smart talking northern liberal types that keep badmouthing Texas we have both kinds of punishment --- Tar and feathers.

Don't know if you realise it son but down here we still follow the Everitt Doctrine when it comes to Commie Pinko Subversives -- we round them up, put 'em in a field and bomb the bastards --- at least we would do if them young flyboys in the National Guard didnt keep disappearing off....

Fortunately the Vice President himself has decided to step in and lend a hand. You know that feller is such a good shot he can hit a lawyer at 100 yards without even aiming for him? Now that's doing it right....

BREWSKI

Cape Cod Mass. here! I actually attend UMass Dartmouth... so I'm pretty close to y'all Fly and Buck!

And if you really want to talk about beer... the argument is between Ireland and Germany. And I've tried hundreds of beers (not all at once!).

Speaking of which, in about 15 mins. I feel like Erin Go 'Brah-ing me up a pack of Guinness! w00t!

MILAGROBEAN

I hail from western Ma, same as Chrisisall, live in his house too, seeing as we've been an item for 20 years now. St Patty's Day and beer put me in mind of the Fleadh at Randall's Island in NYC in the late 90's. I'm not partial to beer but the Harp's was good and cold that weekend. Went really well with Black 47 (NY-based Irish band, not whiskey) and Sinead O'Connor. Guinness is a little thick for me, it's an acquired taste I'm sure. Last time I had one was on a St Patty's Day after an aikido class with the old man. Don't remember if it was because I was thirsty or just for the hell of it.
