I'm just wondering how the wacko Liberals are going to pin this one on Bush.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17952631/?GT1=9246

And being as how men are from Mars and all, I'm pretty pissed that we're trashing it's atmosphere. And if we're not doing it, why aren't we doing anything to stop it. Isn't that America's job to play savior to everyone?

Ooh. A challenge!

Hmmm. Let's see...

Okay. Try this one on for size. It's a little known fact that the behind-closed-door meetings Cheney had with energy executives early in Bush's first term led to drastic changes in the Mars Exploration Rover Mission. Although the mission had been in the planning and development process for years, Cheney was able to add in sweetheart deals for some of his cronies. Specifically, they changed the mission plan so that each Mars Rover would go around the surface of Mars building coal power plants. These power plants, now numbering in the millions, have been photoshopped out of any pictures the Rovers have been sending back. Turns out that Cheney is a big fan of Kim Stanley Robinson's Red-Green-Blue Mars series and figured he could start the ball rolling on the terraforming process. If you look really closely at some of the pictures of Spirit you can see a Halliburton logo.

How's that?

Actually I think liberals will first blame America, instead of Bush. The USA is the only thing they hate more than GWB.

You go ahead and keep telling yourself that. And when your leaders tell you it is time to start killing liberals you can raise your torch and pitchfork with the rest of the authoritarian followers and go to sleep with a clean conscience.

*rolls her eyes* Sure. Because all liberals are unstable America hating wackos who shriek curses upon GWB's name at the slightest mention of global warming. That's what we do.

Hey, it's not anyone but the Libs who are trying to paint global warming dissent as being on par with those who deny the holocaust. Some have even suggested it be punishable by a jail sentence if we don't 'recant'.

dissent?... it's not dissent that bothers me... it's the total lack of recognition of this problem (non-problem to some) that boggles the mind –

I think the trolling began right about here: "I'm just wondering (sotto voce - maybe they'll take this a naive innocence) how the wacko Liberals (oops, too far) are going to pin this one on Bush."

Oh, wait, I forgot. When YOU do it it's a joke and liberals are just humorless drones. When LIBERALS do it it's trolling and you're just an innocent victim.

Well then, carry on with what you do best.

This was discussed at length quite a while ago. I'm not sure if I'll have the time to see if the old thread (with many links) is still available.

The upshot is that the sun's output isn't a factor, and that there are planets and moons cooling at this time. So it's not a 'system-wide' phenomenon as far as anyone can tell.

Ah. Well, perhaps Mars, (after watching us over-run our own planet,) has decided to destroy it's own polar ice caps, realizing that without them, the politicians and capitalists will be less likely to exploit, er, explore.

Guess I'm a wacko...

LOL..... On the contrary, this thread worked out just about as good as I could have hoped.

There was no message. If I was forced to make one it would probably be along the lines of "I hate liberals and conservatives."

EDIT: Rue, your replies are pretty funny here. One might think that you thought of me as a Repug by what you posted. Don't worry Rue... I think that Bush was the worst president we've ever had too.

Coming from the 'verse's shiniest example of self control and righteousness! Ouch Rue! I'm so hurt....

I really can't even see why this post was considered so trollish. I was just joking around, cause I knew both sides would have something to say about it. I thought it was pretty funny.

All kidding aside, you do make a good point. I have little to no respect for mankind on the whole, why should I have any more for government?

Can't see why it's trollish? Uhhmm ... because you have no topic, no point to make, no facts to discuss - just snark? I'm only guessing, but maybe that has something to do with it.

And, please point out to me any trolling I may engage in. It'd be helpful if you were specific rather than making unfounded and, ahem, trollish broadsides.

Oh Rue... I wasn't being accusatory. Why, do you have a guilty conscience?

I'm sure there are some other RWEDers who might have a different opinion opinion on it though. I personally reserve the troll remarks only for my good friend Cit. I think that man and I make you look like the Virgin Mary in terms of trolldom. Of course, he'd never admit to his trolldom either.

There are no Trolls in the RWED.

Well, since you have nothing specific I do accept that it's not about me. It's hard to tell when someone is directing a post TO YOU and making vague accusatory statements TO YOU. But how about this - point out my trolling anyway. Seriously. It'd be instructive.

Aside from certain individuals in here who show up on occasion to flame and make obscene remarks, for no other purpose than to be obscene, I think the RWED is rather Troll free.

I know that you and Geezer seem to get under each other's skin quite often as do Citizen and I. I know that Cit and I have resorted to calling each other's trolls because we tend to piss each other off. I see that word thrown around so much that I can't exactly recall if you and Geezer use it on each other or not, but I'm assuming that it's slipped once or twice.

The real truth is, I don't really consider any of the four mentioned in this post as being trolls. We're just very opinionated people and, at least from my life's experience, very opinionated people aren't very well liked and can only be tolerated in small doses.

No.... not trolls. If anything, I think we're masochists.

I know it. I think I've said on three seperate occasions that I wouldn't be back, at least not for a long while, but I don't think I've ever stayed away for more than two weeks at a time.

My relationship here is not too far off from my dysfunctional family relationship over the years. Love 'em or hate 'em they're only an annoying poke away. Truth is I'm glad to have ya'all around to argue with.... but I've said that before too.
