There is no “Lil Ale-Inn”, the residents haven’t taken to wearing tin-foil hats…yet, and they aren’t selling stuffed e.t.’s …but it won’t be long before someone tries to proclaim this little Texas town the new Roswell. I’m talking about the recent sightings in Stephenville. Video below:

(I can’t believe ole Ricky didn’t squeeze off at least a few rounds)

I know. These things come and go and very few people take UFO sightings seriously, but for those of you (us), who sometimes let our imaginations run wild, stuff like this is daydream gold.

There is so much material on this subject that I won’t even try to provide a conclusive argument for or against the possibility of visitors from another world, dimension or secret government facility, but here is a link to the Disclosure Project website, http://www.disclosureproject.org/cosmicdeception.htm with an interesting paper from the director. It is a bit dated but, damn, if some of it doesn’t sound vaguely familiar.

Don’t know if this will spark any discussion…ufo’s are so played, but the whole shadow government thing is at least worth considering. If you get the feeling that our government (past and present) is intent on keeping the somnambulant public in a constant state of fear and ignorance then something like this seems to fit.

I live in Stephenville, and I haven't seen a darn thing. But some of the students on campus have taken to wearing foil hats around.

America loves a winner!

I have a nephew who's a AF pilot up at Witchita Falls. I plan to go check out the place in April. I hope the world is still in one piece.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I live in Waco, about 70-80 miles southeast of Stephenville, and have been hearing a lot about this on all the radio talk shows. I have no idea if there is anything to these recent sightings, but I am almost positive I know what that bright light is in Jason Leigh's video, and his description of what it was doing does not match the video he presents. I'll bet that was one of the space shuttles, since I have seen it myself on approach to Cape Canaveral, and it might possibly have been in '95.

I've seen a UFO myself, something I have never been able to explain, but unfortunately no documentation.

I give the alien story 50/50, just like anything else I've seen in the news, in the classroom, preached in religion, political rhetoric, or just in this entire ant farm we all find ourselves on at this particular moment.

I own property in central and east texas and have seen shuttles as well... some debris from Columbia was found on property i have in Houston county (near Crockett)....

one thing about texas and rural texas especially, there is big sky for star gazing - i have seen things that i could not explain pass by at night or fly in such a way that would make me believe that they are not run of the mill aircraft... that plus my rejection of the notion that humans are an omnipotent species, the only intelligent beings in the universe, so i'm not entirely skeptical of every sighting i hear of.

I'm not necessarily saying that there is some huge conspiracy on the part of the powers that be to cover up information, but i certainly have my doubts that the general public has been informed of all the facts surrounding the existence UFOs or technology derived from extraterrestrial intelligence.

Besides, it's just sad to think that this is all there is.....

Reminds me of an old joke..

"You know, I can prove there is intelligent life elsewhere in the Universe.

Oh yeah, how so ?

Cause they want nothing to do with US!"

I have oft-times wondered, if perhaps we did not begin as some extra-solar penal colony, a'la Australia, ditched and forgotten - and now a freakshow to be laughed at as they keep an eye on us to make sure we don't get out.

My what an interesting story THAT would make, wouldn't it ?

The military's admission that it had jets up in the area actually strengthens the credibility of some of the reports, said Ken Cherry, Texas state director for the network. After all, some of the witnesses had said they had seen military aircraft along with the lights.
