I can see it in the sense of not prolonging someones life (Terry Schivo?)...

But if someone is hurt, Im gonna help them.

I won't ask for your religion ect ect, as its not my business..

But I will say this, if you (Frem) saw someone get hit by a car.... and you could render aid that would keep them alive until the paramedics arrived...Im convinced, just from your posts, that you WOULD help them.

To what do you not agree ? That R v W is bad law ? As I tried to explain, I say so not because of what it allegedly legalizes, but simple based on its lack of merit . Whether you agree w/ a " woman's right to choose " or not , isn't the issue here. When I say 'everyone agrees', it's simply a commentary that , those both for and against R v W will tell you that it's a poorly arrived at decision. Your opinion doesn't change that fact, sorry.

Oh, no Finn. You're not anywhere near as noble and dispassionate as you think you are, 'cause I've been on the receiving end of your hate. You called me all kinds of names, including un-American.

And all because I dare to ask you questions about your viewpoints, which you can't even answer.

Was that before or after you went into great detail to malign my character with manipulative mean-spirited commentary on how I was born with mental disability and grew up to be a murdering bastard? Although, the truth is that even in that case, your accusations are unlikely.

Certainly the young girl who originally was influenced into bringing the case, later regretted that the whole thing was a big mistake. And certainly it lacks any kind of constitutional justification, which is something any constitutional attorney will tell you. On that merit alone it should be overturned, since it clearly is a state issue, not a federal issue.

Exactly. That's the main point I was trying to make. But some are seeing only what they want, and when I'm saying R. v W. is " bad law " , they seem to think I'm commenting only on its result. I thought my Wiki post above made the whole thing clear. Perhaps some here didn't bother to read it ?

"The Left has been going totally apeshit over Bush ever since his name was announced as a Republican candidate back in 1999."

Not quite true on my part. I waited till I saw him campaigning before I figured out he was a sociopath (the dumb kind) and figurehead. But after he was selected by the Supreme Court (in an illegal ruling, BTW) I waited to see if he would be a 'uniter'. That lasted till his administration lied about the WH being trashed and all the 'W's' being removed from the keyboards. At that point I figured it was the same old hate-filled GOP crap they been doing to Clinton for 8 years, and they just couldn't help themselves. It didn't take long for them to reveal themselves.

"... little to love about Obama's picks for his Administration. Who knew that Obama's famous "HOPE", and "CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN" was just campaign jargon ..."

I figured that out quite a while ago. HOW LONG have I been posting that Obama is more conservative than most people realize ? HOW LONG have I been posting that I wasn't pro-Obama, just anti-McCain ? HOW LONG have I been posting that the real work doesn't being until AFTER the election ? Have you not been reading anything, just skating along posting responses to your own assumptions ?

Mmmm, yeah, pretty much here too. Obama's best point is that he is not McCain. He's too moderate IMHO.

What I find damn peculiar is that the peeps who are the most afraid that Obama will be some kind of radical are the first to denounce Obama for not being radical enough! How's THAT for screwed-up thinking?

Being truly "moderate" is the ONLY way for a President to be. IMHO.

Going too far left or too far right has fucked up this country enough.

)So have the people whose views are with far left or far right.)

Just to clarify, being on the fringe is not a good place to be, people.

"You’re already accusing people who don’t agree with Obama of being “un-American,” aren’t you?"

Since Obama isn't president YET (a point you may have missed) it's hard to agree OR disagree with anything he's done or not done. But people aren't posting that they disagree. They are posting that they want Obama to FAIL - simply so they can gloat. No matter what it means for the country, they WANT things to be worse just to have that chance to gloat.

See the difference ?

Well, probably not, but at least I tried.

So how does that reconcile with your comment "Everyone Agrees" ?

Or, you are not considering me a person.

Yanno, Finn and I went rounds on that one. What is "human"? Is it in the genes? Is it in the development? He wound analogizing a fertilized egg to a train with a destination. I tried to explain that the fertilized egg is like a train that is still being built, with the tracks still being laid. No destination, no "goal", no "potential", no "ideal little baby in the making", just... what is.

As an ex- licensed EMT we were trained to triage. In other words, don't waste valuable supplies, time and effort on the ones who weren't going to make it. But making that judgment accurately is extremely difficult. There are those who seem fine and then die, and those who seem ready to die but live in defiance of all expectations.

BTW, it seems weird that you would fault a doctor who applied your philosophy to you. He seemed pretty certain you were going to croak. It's your own philosophy, in practice.

So is my liver, my nose, my finger (here, see ?). It doesn't make it a human.

I don’t remember saying that it was a human. And as it turns out, I didn’t. That does not however draw an equivalence between a human fetus and a human liver or nose or finger, until such time as you can demonstrate that a human liver, nose or finger evolved into a human.

I find you pedantic in the extreme, intent on manipulating individual words to meet your needs (rather than using standard definitions) and yet, somehow unable to see the whole argument. I find that to be a sign of certain inabilities - that was I who made that argument, not SignyM.

So you’ve claim. What with insidious words like “it seems” and “it appears” which I deceitfully employ to be describe my views.

I have a vote and I'm not afraid to use it!

"until such time as you can demonstrate that a human liver, nose or finger evolved into a human"

So you are saying it's not a human YET ? Then we agree --- some day it MAY become a human but that day it not arrived. And until it does, and while it's not a human, it's not covered by the Consitution.

The Constitution doesn’t say anything about children , and they aren’t fully grown either.

Like your use of 'it seems' or it appears' ? No like, your inability to use the phrase 'human life' appropriately, as in abortion is wrong because it takes a human life, but bombing civilian areas is OK because those things there are just collateral damage.

Yeah, I have a brain. I can recognize people. You recognize nothing but your own pathetically small worldview. I do truly pity you.

Wow, you truly are an idiot.

So in what context did I misuse the phrase “human life.” You’re current example doesn’t apply to me, since it’s not my opinion. Perhaps it’s yours.

You know, if you and signym spent a little more time actually reading my posts and trying to understand my point of view instead of writing me off as an murderous idiot, you might learn something, or at least be able to effectively argue.

SIGNYM

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

Can you find a quote where I said anything remotely like that? - Signy

Probably, but what the hell makes you think that you are immune to supporting your own claims?- Finn

Why don't you start by supporting yours? Find me a quote where I said you were a murderous bastard (or whatever it is that you claim that I said)

As you accuse me of being stupid : “you DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.”- Finn

I always suport my claims. You OTOH... other than simply repeating your sincerely and deeply held (but not fully thought-out) beliefs, you have generally not been able to support them either logically or factually. And when I drill down on that, you hate me.

Ah, typical Signymoid manipulation. Make an unsupported claim, but then insist that all responses to said claim must be supported.
