No...it proves Climate Change. Rain, no rain, snow, no snow, hot, cold, wind, hurricanes, no hurricanes...basically any weather good or bad is all proof that the world is doomed and that the United States is responsible.

If you insist on thinking that, it's not my fault. I don't think that and I don't think most people do, actually.

There's still extremely little merit in PN grandly presenting The One Year Where It Was Colder In Certain Places, as if that means anything.

Meanwhile, Austin TX has had the hottest June and July on record - well over a month now, it's been over 100 degrees every single day. We've been averaging about 5-7 degrees above the average all summer long.

So does that conclusively prove Global Warming?

Austin TX temp 4pm CST = 93 °F
Austin TX Record = 105 °F (1925)
www.wunderground.com/US/TX/Austin.html

Funny what you can do with HAARP transmitting billions of watts to heat the atmosphere, equivalent to 150,000 50,000-watt radio stations, as seen on History Channel this week. Easy peazy to move the jetstream to control heat and cold, wet and dry.

Then there's the chemtrails from metallic additives to jet fuel, "to combat global warming" BY HEATING THE ATMOSPHERE, with the added benefit of Alzheimers.

Isn't that Potsy?

I live 100 miles north of you in Waco, and it's been about the same here. May not be conclusive proof of Global Warming, but I can tell you it's gorram hot! This is as hot as it's been since at least 1980, when we had 62 consecutive days of 100°+ temps.

Hello,

Are record temperatures generally reached at 4PM?

I would think a temperature reading from closer to midday would be a better example.

In any event, I don't think Global Warming or Climate Change is based on the temperature in any particular locale. Else I'd say the 110+ degree temperatures I've been enjoying in Phoenix lately are proof of something.

Well, they are definitive proof that I am too darn hot, at least. ;-)

Meanwhile....

Seattle breaks temp record as heat wave continues

SEATTLE – Northwesterners more accustomed to rain and cooler climate sought refuge from a heat wave on Wednesday, as Seattle recorded the hottest temperature in its history and Portland edged closer to its own record-breaker.

The National Weather Service in Seattle recorded 102 degrees by midday at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, breaking a previous record of 100 degrees, set in downtown Seattle in 1941 and repeated at the airport in 1994.

Jay Albrecht, a meteorologist with the service, said it's the hottest it has been in Seattle since records dating to 1891.

Actually, Anthony, we get our highest temperatures around 5:00-5:30pm, after everything's been soaking up the heat all day long, but while the sun is still plenty high in the sky. And today was almost unseasonably... average. It was overcast all day, muggy and mid- to high-90s, which seemed like a welcome break from this damned heatwave we've had so far this summer. Hell, I even thought it might rain. Wishful thinking on my part, as it turns out.

Hello,

Mark me educated.

Not only by the informative post above, but by a web search that informs me that the hottest time of day typically varies between 1 and 4PM. Regional variances occur, and are impacted by weather patterns, so experiences in different states and even parts of states seem to differ.

The reason why, according to what I read, is that heat levels continue to climb as long as more heat is being added to a region than is being dissipated from the region. So while the sun may not be its most radiant, it is still adding more heat to the area.

Apologies for questioning the 4PM premise, PirateNews.

It took me a while to wrap my head around that concept, Anthony.

If it's any consolation, it's almost 9:00pm now, and it's still 94º here. Takes a while for the ground to dissipate all that heat even after the sun goes down!

So if you've got 110º at midday, how freaking hot is it by 5:00?!

Yeah, I know... It's a DRY heat.

Hello,

When we're lucky, it's a dry heat. I love it when it's cloudy here, but I hate it when it rains.

Last weekend I went miniature golfing in the early evening and I felt like I'd taken a swim. It was the humidity on that day, which was high for some reason. Won't be doing that again for several months. I felt physically terrible and drained by the time we reached the last hole.

Of course, 'Fire' is frequently a dry heat, but no one seems to advocate self immolation on a hot summer day. ;-)

Dang, Anthony, ya beat me to it! The first thing that popped into my head ...

This summer has been a mite confuzzled, but it certainly does seem to show that perhaps NOTHING is certain when it comes to the global warming/cooling or climate change theories. As mentioned, different regions of the country are experiencing unseasonable temperatures on both sides of the spectrum. Just last weekend here in Ohio it might as well have been fall, I was working outside and almost went in to get a sweatshirt.

110 in Phoenix is proof of global cooling. That's 20 degrees below average, in the shade, 'cept there's no shade.

The History Channel Waether War this weekend said HAARP was running the year I visited California. 130 in the shade, while we drove a black car in the desert when AC broke and heater wouldn't turn off. As we drove through the mountains, there were dozens of brush fires burning all around us. Now I know what Hell is like.

HAARP moves the jetstream and actually can reverse its direction, which is what happened in California that year.

So if its a little warm in your town, blame HAARP and Chemtrails, since the Sun is actually running much cooler than normal.
