Not a huge fan of Sean Penn and his politics, but I've always admired his film work in things like Carlito's Way, Mystic River, and many others going back to Fast Times. "Milk" is simply an amazing film! It methodically and intelligently strips away any and all arguments that anyone could have against Gay people's rights. You can only come away from the film believing that there is really nothing rational to even debate about. It is a powerful film that will move even the staunchest opponents to reconsider & cast aside their belief system. If you're of the anti-gay variety, I challenge you to see the movie and not be changed.

Saw movie. Turns out they are still gay. They don't need special gay rights since they have mostly the same rights straight people have. I give the fella (Milk, not Penn) all sorts of credit for being gay when that wasn't popular in California. But it was never a rights issue, just attitude and cultural bias.

Nobody ever asked for a special law for Irish rights or Italian rights. Race and gender bias needed legislative and judicial correction and because they were not seeking additional right not available to other classes.

For example, they are as free to get married as anybody else, and they are just as barred from same sex marriages as anybody else. They do not deserve laws that give them more rights then other citizens have.

Both groups that were specifically discriminated AGAINST, about a century ago. There were plenty of specific PRACTICES aimed against them. There SHOULD HAVE BEEN laws guaranteeing them the EQUAL treatment they were due, and prosecuting those who denied them...

I don't know how you can say that it wasn't a "rights" issue back in the 70"s. Their rights include the rights to live openly as gay people, and to celebrate their lifestyle, and to have laws enacted to protect those rights. Harvey Milk fought against huge anti-gay political machines and won. He fought against the religious establishment that had Anita Bryant on point, and he won again. It's all about civil rights, same as Italian, Black, Irish, Jew, Muslim, whatever.

But theoretically, if gay marriage were made legal, straight people would be just as free to marry the same-sex partner of their choice, right?

I didn't post this topic to start any fights amongst the group. I suppose most people here already were on the right side of the gay rights issues, and didn't need to see a movie to form an opinion, but honestly I wasn't so much. I posted this subject because the movie did change me. I hope it changes many others.

Not to drag this too far off topic - but laws which prevent gays from marrying each other have been found to be exactly legally equivalent to anti-miscegentation laws - which are unconstitutional. They prevent one from marrying the PERSON OF THEIR CHOICE.

You argument 'Hero' is like saying slavery is OK as long as slaves are free to own other slaves. And that is not a valid position.

Absent that fundamental HUMAN right to marry the PERSON of your choice - which is protected in the constitution - gays do NOT have the 'same' rights as others.

But you ARE advocating "a special law" for homosexuals - one that says that they aren't allowed to marry EACH OTHER, or the person of their choosing, the one they're in love with.

Can you show me where there was ever a law stating that Irish or Italians weren't allowed to marry other Irish or Italians?

How would you react to a law that said whites couldn't marry other whites?

RL: I'm glad you saw it, and I'm glad you were moved by it. I think my eye-opening, mind-opening when it comes to gays came when I watched Armistead Maupin's "Tales of the City" many years ago, and realized that people are just people.

I thought "Milk" was beautifully done, and heartbreaking. You should probably track down the HBO movie version of Randy Shiilts's "And the Band Played On", too - it's amazingly well done, and also heartbreaking and uplifting.

My "eye opening" was of the opposite sort. My Mother's best friend when I was little was a gay man. It wasn't until I was 10 or so that I even grasped that there were people who had a problem with gays. To me, they were just people - never occurred to me to dislike them over who they chose to love. It was quite an eye opening moment when I realized there were such hateful people out there, to discriminate over something so pathetically foolish.

You don't need laws to protect those rights. The Consitution already protected those rights. All they really needed was the removal (as unconstitutional) laws restricting those rights.

Sodomy is a good example. The Constitution contains a right to privacy that would protect consensual gay sex between adults. So you don't need a law protecting gay sex, you need to get rid of the law, through Constitutional challenge, that criminalizes the conduct.

Women can use the ladies room (with its fancy couch) but if men use it we'll get arrested (or hit with a purse). Men can walk around topless on the beach, woman can't (in most places despite what I believe is a Constitutional Right we all need to get behind). Men play football professionally. Women can win the Miss America pagent. People live in different states, with minor variations to their respective state constitutions.

Nazis and Gay folks can have a parade (with a permit). Al Queda operatives can't (with or without a permit).

Gay rape and gang-rape by real gangs is VERY popular in prisons.

If you were raped by a gay pedophile as a kid, would you want therapy and arrest of the rapist, or would you rather grow up a gay pedophile with multiple personality disorder?

Then there's the female sex hormones in soft plastic beverage containers and soy bean "foods" to turn men into fags, and male anabolic steroids in dairy and meat products to turn women into lesbians, with cancer as a side effect.

Is that the future you want for you and your family?

I have friends and family who are "gay", and none are really happy, with rape, incest and chemical poisonings as proximate causes to their gayness. Seeing one friend rock back and forth uncontrollably only when sitting near his incestuous gay father, or sitting in a speeding car runnign a redlight while another another gay friend raped in foster homes freaks out his wife's kid is not his own and his brother's a coke dealer, or another gay friend dope dealer doped up on heroin, is quite sad to see. Nuttin happy bout that, no matter how much money they make.

Hello,

See? Just some more good-natured chain-pulling by Pirate News.

He starts off by advocating Eugenics in the form of wiping out the gay population. (Bullet in Milk = good riddance!)

Then he states that he has gay friends, despite his view on murdering gay people. This is the first wink at the audience. Of course Piratenews has gay 'friends.' But the only shooting he's doing is clearly 'what, what, in the butt.'

Another clue that he's joking is when he says plastic is turning men into women, and meat is turning women into men. A critical thinker might ask, "Don't men eat meat, and wouldn't that reinforce their manlyness?" And that's when he'd laugh his ass off, saying, "Yes, I feel that men who eat meat are quite manly." And of course this is just another 'wink, wink, nudge' for the audience about his own sexuality.

Finally, he ends with a complaint about homosexuality being a eugenics program to wipe out 90% of the population. This, from the man who opened up with an advocacy of eugenics. (Bullet in Milk = good riddance!) And so we've come full circle. Or fool circle, as Pirate might say.

And just to make sure we get the joke, he closes with a four letter word. SCAM. As in, "I'm scamming you, people. Get it?"

Good one, Pirate. Keep up the witty Satire. Now that I know you're secretly advocating Gay Rights, I'm right behind you. I'm sure I'll have to get in line, though. ;-)

Hello Rue,

Potential Spoilers Below:

Sometimes I am reminded of the 2002 movie Hero starring Jet Li. A visually stunning picture, it amounted to my mind to little more than a Propaganda Piece that apologized for cruel governance.

The titular Hero of the piece was a man whose home village had been brutalized during the Emperor's conquests to unify China.

Several civic-minded assassins rose up from the populace, hoping to slay the Emperor. So, the Emperpr put a price on their heads. The cherry on top was that whoever rid him of these troublesome assassins would be granted a personal audience.

So the titular Hero went on a crusade to find and remove these assassins. This, so that he could get access to the Emperor and rid the world of his tyranny.

When he was finally granted his audience, and heard the Emperor speak of his plans to improve China and make a more perfect society, the Hero realized the error of his ways. He confessed to the Emperor that he had come to kill him, and informed the Emperor that he had no choice but to slay him as an example to others.

The film ends with the Emperor's archers lining up and executing the Hero.

Moral of the Story: A true Hero endures tyranny within government for the prospect of a better society.

And that's why nobody has the guts to stop the NWO overthrow of USA today.

GW Bush bribed or killed all soldiers who know what's going on.

Ask Pat Tillman. Oh, you can't, he got 3 bullets in the head at point blank range from his own troops.

King Obama is doing the same. Or the Shadow Govt of Kosher banksters is.

Mind control is the key. Mass-deprogramming is the cure.

I suspect that's what Joss' job is. That's the theme of Dollhouse and Firefly. BTVS covered that too.

Mrs Harvey Milk's Mafia crime family:

Madonna Seeing Mafia Killer Chris Paciello Again?

Madonna has now been linked to convicted mafia killer Chris Paciello. The 50-year-old singer was rumoured to be involved with 37-year-old Paciello 10 years ago - before he was jailed in 1999 for seven years for his role in a New York robbery which left a woman dead. [Paciello had been free on $15-million bail.]

A source claims Madonna has been flying to Paciello’s home in Miami to rekindle their relationship between shows on her ‘Sticky and Sweet’ tour. She also reportedly put up £25,000 bail when Paciello was arrested on suspicion of beating up a man in Hollywood in August. A source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “Chris was in trouble again earlier this year, and it was Madonna he turned to for help then. They’ve remained close, and they’re in constant touch wherever she is in the world.”

It has been reported the pair were both staying in the same hotel in Toronto yesterday, after Madonna’s performance in the Canadian city on Saturday (18.10.08).

Paciello was born Chris Ludwigsen, but he took his mother's maiden name at sixteen, in rejection of his father, a former bouncer and heroin addict who faced charges in the late 1980s for burglary, auto theft, and drugs. Paciello was tight with the Bensonhurst Bath Avenue crew, a gang that got its start robbing pet shops and video stores and paid the Bonanno crime family for the right to invoke its name for protection in disputes.

By twenty-one, Paciello had orchestrated a $300,000 bank heist in Staten Island. A year later, in 1993, he was behind the wheel of a Mercury sedan playing the getaway driver in a botched home invasion robbery in Staten Island that ended with the death of forty-six-year-old housewife Judith Shemtov. Paciello had heard that Shemtov's husband, Sami, a wealthy businessman, kept hundreds of thousands of dollars in a safe hidden somewhere in the house.

Judith Shemtov was sipping tea when she answered a knock at her door and three men with guns shoved their way in and ordered her to "open the safe." Sami heard gunfire and rushed in to find his wife shot in the face with a .45 automatic. The shooter was thirty-year-old Tommy Reynolds, a Bath Avenue soldier so reckless that he had nearly killed a Gambino crime family associate outside a Brooklyn bar two years earlier.

Chris Paciello needed a good reason to leave New York while police snooped around the unsolved Shemtov murder. In August 1994, Paciello moved to Miami and bought Mickey's, a restaurant previously owned by actor Mickey Rourke, and managed by John Gotti's former driver Carlo Vaccarezza. Paciello invited Caruso to join him as a promoter and club director.

In November 1994, Caruso and Paciello reopened Mickey's as Club Risk. Attendance was lackluster. Paciello lost faith in Caruso's promoting prowess, and Caruso grew increasingly frustrated at being frozen out of management decisions as Paciello took closed-door meetings with Gambino family associates Johnny Rizzo and John D'Amico.

Caruso's girlfriend, who stayed behind in New York, had just given birth to their son and wanted Caruso to come back home. But it wasn't until he found a murder fugitive in his Miami apartment that he decided to cut his losses. Paciello had given Gambino mobster Vinnie Rizzuto Jr. the okay to hide in Caruso's apartment while the FBI and the Columbo family were looking for him for the murder of a capo's son.

By February 1995, Caruso had fled back to New York and vowed to his girlfriend that he would uphold his New Year's Eve resolution not to drink, deal drugs, or be lured back into a life of crime. Caruso was fearful that Paciello would kill him just for what he'd seen and heard.

Fugitive Rizzuto, who was later caught using Caruso's name and identification, would eventually plead guilty to murder and was sentenced to twenty-five years. Club Risk mysteriously burned down weeks after Caruso's exit, and Paciello used the insurance money to open a new club that boasted such celebrity guests as Jennifer Lopez, Donald Trump, Niki Taylor, and Gianni Versace. The handsome nightlife impresario became a celebrity in his own right, dating supermodels and attending charity balls. But years later, the feds finally caught up with Paciello. In 2000, the twenty-nine-year-old club owner pleaded guilty to his role in the bank heist and Shemtov's murder as part of a cooperation deal and was sentenced to seven years. Tommy Reynolds, who shot Shemtov, got life in prison.

Sounds Satanic.

Notice how Mrs Harvey Milk's first film, about Satanic human sacrifice, had the victim wrapped in a plastic tarp BEFORE he was killed, to contain the blood (evidence) after he's beaten and perhaps stabbed to death. I've never seen that done in a simulated Hollywood human sacrifice scene, and in one mob hitman murder scene. But Mafia hitmen and serial killers routinely do that, for real, to keep from going to jail. That's the only part of the movie where it didn't look fake, and looked more like a documentary.

This is a "Mob" problem I'm having while shooting a documentary on motorcycle riders in East TN and West NC. The Harley MC riders in criminal gangs I have no problem with, even the confessed killers (throwing POWs from aircraft for US Govt in Nam), and are very helpful (best medical advice I ever got). But the restaurant businesses owners and managers appear to be mobbed up, and ban me from shooting video on their property, when a documentary would only help their sales revenue. Weird to have suspected mafia sit me down in their office and tell me to stop shooting, after they begged me to in the first place ("I'm too 'political", ie, on law enforcement radar discussing mafia matters). Small legit business owners welcome my video work. My Mafia uncle was allegedly murdered while owning a large Harley dealership, and his brother was chopped in half (never did find the other half). This is also something my wife saw for years while working in the restaurant business, from all nationalities of mafia, when they steal her paychecks and hang with the rich and infamous. So my documentary might never happen, since I don't want to cut those scenes and reduce the overall story, and my budget is suffering from a 50% cut in the Greatest Depression. I'm hoping the Mob will sell out, but the economy is so bad that's not looking good, and their asking price is 1,500% higher than what they bought the business for...

Actor Jason Stratham (left) with Mafia friends at Polaroid House in LA

A murderous Mafia associate who turned government informant in a bid to avoid life in prison has emerged from custody and landed in Los Angeles, where he was just photographed partying with celebrities at a Malibu beach house. As seen in the below photo, convicted felon Chris Paciello, 35, was snapped with "Entourage" star Kevin Connolly during a bash at the Polaroid Beach House. The waterfront estate, which has drawn celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, is used as a promotional tool by the photo firm, which released, among other images, the picture of Paciello and Connolly (we're guessing that Polaroid had no idea about the bloody criminal pedigree of Paciello, who left federal prison last fall). The publicity photo first appeared on TMZ.com, where Connolly's companion was identified only as his "buff buddy." The mob henchman, who was part of a Colombo crime family crew headed by captain William "Wild Bill" Cutolo, turned government snitch after pleading guilty for his roles in a $300,000 bank heist and a Staten Island home invasion that ended with the murder of female homeowner Judith Shemtov.

www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2007/0710071paciello1.html

That picture of Chris Paciello (Binger) should be altered to make his face a RAT's face. This low life rat told on and made up stories of all his close friends, even his best friends who were there for him thru thick and thin. Who ate Sunday dinner with him, Keith and his Mom and sometimes his Grandfather (great meatballs). Chris is a rat, the lowest thing a person could be. This coming from one of his former best friends, Chris didn't Rat because he felt bad or any remorse for the person he and he alone started the chain of events and participated in the murder of an innocent Mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend to many. He ratted because he got caught. He ratted for himself to save his own ass. Trust me; he waited till every other route was exhausted. Then when there was no way his money or high priced lawyers could get him time off he Ratted. He would have raped a 4 year old boy to get out of it, if that’s what had to be done. He hurt many people and families and little children who had to grow up without there fathers, uncles, and mothers without there sons. Funeral’s missed hundreds and hundreds of people’s lives ruined, people who killed no one. Just because Chris decided he didn’t want to take the time for the crime he committed because he’s better than everyone. How F**K*D would the world be if everybody lived by those rules. Doing anything and everything possible to not do the time for the crimes they have committed. This is so nice and convenient, “wow” even our military should adopt this policy, get caught tell all the positions, plans, and where your superior officers are and get rewarded when your done. Na F*** that… I’d rather not commit crimes I don’t want to do the time for and keep my soul for God to judge, but that’s just me. Look in the mirror it’s nice to see your own reflection

You're no credit to the human race PN, and I'm quite sure your parents are or were just beside themselves in pain and anguish and guilt over the pathetic vile spawn they produced and gave a name to. Unless, of course, and I think highly more likely, your foul-stenched form of life originated in a greasy jar at a sperm donor clinic frequented by local drug addicts and drunks, located around the corner from the Legal Aid office and adjacent methadone outreach clinic. The world got a real bargain for the $25 your sperm-daddy was paid for his 30 second feat of self-humiliation and self-gratification. Good thing they had some wrinkled and somewhat moist National Geographic mags laying around there to assist your dear pop for the blessed event of your arrival. I wonder if there was an announcement of some sort. I only wish I could have been outside the building, before your dad-to-be staggered inside to have been able to offer him $50 to just go away and never come back.

They let him keep the jar after they swabbed you out of there.

And he got his new t-shirt as promised.

Your lovely waitress mom had a beautiful smile, was simultaneously demurely innocent and sexually irresistable, and had a great rack. Not much is known of her after she abandoned you in booth number two at the diner to go run off with cherry pie-eating Corey Feldman for a short-lived marraige of profound steamy passion and fruity cocktails with umbrellas in Acapulco.

Nikos, the Greek ex-fisherman owner of the diner wept when he saw your helpless desperate situation, and took you into the bosom of his body and home. There, you would grow up taunted and shamed for years by step-brothers Atlas, Sting, and Dildoa.

To go back to the very beginning, before all this bullcrap, yes, I thought "Milk" was very, very well done...and I'm not a Penn fan, either. I lived through it; I hung out in the Haight and stayed at the apartment of a couple of gay friends at the time. They had a spider monkey that was give to leaping from person to person franetically...made it tough to sleep!

But yes, I knew the Castro then and what it was before then; the improvement was dramatic. So close to the Haight, but the gay neighborhood was such a contrast... I remember the horror of Milk and Moscone's murders all too well.

I also recommend "Tales of the City", for more than the one reason given...and by the way, haven't run into too many who've seen it, so huzzah! There's also "Torch Song Trilogy", another really good movie.

For me, also, the "eye-opener" was the bigotry. I guess 'cuz of where I grew up, it came as a shock to me to discover the ugliness people hold in their hearts toward other humans who are just humans, so slightly different from themselves as to be ridiculous to hate. I'm glad I grew up where I did; I never "got" racism, either; neither one makes sense.

To say gays have the same "rights" as everyone else is absurd, even today. I don't read PN...not only did he not make sense the few times I did, but the hatred isn't something I feel any need to expose myself to further. Personally, from the couple of posts I did read before giving up, I think he needs help desperately and I'm glad there aren't too many of his ilk around. Is that prejudice? If so, I don't care. Sick people filled with hatred and racism simply aren't people I want to be around or listen to.

I'm ashamed of California when it comes to the gay marriage thing; but I do know we can blame the propaganda, the religious right, and the gay rights people being too complacent; and it will be fixed. Blew me away tho' that they managed to do the job on people so well that even those bought into it who, were they older, would have lived through the illegality of black/white marriages. We're a strange--and at times very sad--little species.

I discovered in my late 40s that I was bisexual--all the clues were there all my life, just nobody "asked me", so I never knew. For me, love is about the PERSON, not the sex, race, religion or anything else. I wish the whole world could evolve to be that way. In some eyes, I guess that makes me crazy. So be it.

Gay Catholic priest Jerry Brown with CIA MKULTRA mass murderer Jim Jones

LAPD Unit Said to Have Spied on Actors, Athletes

Under orders from Chief Willie L. Williams, Los Angeles police investigators began searching files on Friday in the department's Organized Crime Intelligence Division to determine whether the unit spied on an array of well-known politicians, actors and sports figures in what has become yet another embarrassment for the Police Department.

In an effort to be reassuring, Williams met Friday morning with the 45 officers assigned to the special intelligence unit and advised them that the division will remain under lock and key until internal LAPD investigators conclude their probe of the spying allegations, contained in a book by a former member of the unit.

The book--"L.A. Secret Police: Inside the LAPD Elite Spy Network"--is a sweeping personal account of Rothmiller's life with the LAPD, focusing on the super-secret intelligence unit but also including accounts of a department rife with brutality, racism and lying.

The former detective, who left the department nine years ago, said that the OCID had all but forsaken its responsibility for tracking gangsters in favor of cultivating often scurrilous gossip about politicians, movie stars, athletes and other police agencies.

Some of those targeted in the inquiries, according to Rothmiller, included Rock Hudson, Robert Redford, Barbra Streisand, Muhammad Ali, Tommy Lasorda, Frank Sinatra, Connie Chung, Marilyn Monroe, Robert F. Kennedy, former California Atty. Gen. John Van de Kamp and former California Gov. Edmund G. (Jerry) Brown Jr.

He contended that the investigations of political figures helped Gates remain in office during the clamor for his resignation after the March, 1991, beating of King.

"Agents spent countless man-hours stalking City Council members in preparation for just such an emergency," he wrote.

"Because of OCID, the LAPD had secret files on (a) gay council member hiding in the closet and on (a) council member who was sleeping with an aide. The department had intelligence files on questionable deals and campaign funding and a mountain of other embarrassing, sticky business. As soon as someone declared candidacy, a full-scale investigation began."

Rothmiller also alleged that the division set out to prove that former Gov. Edmund G. (Jerry) Brown Jr., was gay by eavesdropping on his car telephone conversations and conducting surveillance of his Fairfax District apartment, where the walls were said to be "painted black in the then-preferred manner of sadomasochistic freaks." Rothmiller said nothing was proved.

Gay Catholic priest Jerry Brown refused to marry lesbian Linda Ronstadt
www.afterellen.com/blog/scribegrrrl/la-glc-gala-photos-2007

Aides to Jerry Brown at the Democratic National Convention in New York said he would have no comment. But his father, former Gov. Edmund (Pat) Brown--another alleged OCID target--said it "would be shockingly bad" if the LAPD spied on his family.

"To waste taxpayer money on a family like the Brown family whose life is public, I sure hope that was not going on," he said.

Files were also amassed on nonpolitical celebrities such as boxer Sugar Ray Leonard, baseball pitcher Sandy Koufax and assorted church prelates who Rothmiller said were "fair game."

Rothmiller wrote that he was ordered to collect information on "such notables" as Mayor Bradley, City Councilman Richard Alatorre and Hollywood mogul Dino De Laurentiis.

Rothmiller, in a news conference at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, described the OCID as the palace guard of the Police Department, digging up damaging information on "anybody that wielded political power or any influence or anybody that was well known within the Hollywood circuit."

It did not matter if the targets of the investigations were considered friend or foe, Rothmiller said, because "a friend can become an enemy overnight." He alleged that the information was used in the same way former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover reportedly used damaging information to manipulate public officials.

The former chief said the OCID was created in 1957 to gather information on organized crime figures. "That's what they've been doing and they have a very fine record of dealing with organized crime, of dealing with the Mafia in this area," Gates said.

"While it may be of interest to some people in government who is sleeping with whom, who is frequenting what nightclubs and what are the various proclivities of public persons," Yaroslavsky said, "that is not the business of government and not what taxpayers want their Police Department to be doing."

Councilman Woo went a step further, urging an investigation to be conducted by a group outside the LAPD.

"This is not the FBI, this is not the CIA; thank heavens Los Angeles no longer has a police chief who thinks he is J. Edgar Hoover," Woo said.

Why bother? If I read his posts, like many here (and from the look of it, River too), I just get sickened by the first line or two, shake my head at the insanity, and stop reading beyond that.

There are worthwhile things to debate, why pay any attention to one crazy running around getting his kicks out of the recognition? Don't bother doing research, River; he's not worth the time you'd waste. All he wants is the excuse to spout his idiocy, and if he's replied to, it only encourages him further.

Me, I'll leave him to his obvious fun of hunting up obscure weirdness on the internet, which from the look of it is all he does all day, every day, and throwing them up here in hopes of getting the attention he so obviously craves. Screw 'im, he wastes too much space in the threads as it is, I'd rather talk about the subjects. Having said that, this post is about him and not the subject, so that's a few more minutes I'll never get back out of my life. Thank gawd I type fast!
