Think there always has been, we just hear about it now. Or maybe as we grow older we pay ATTENTION more, I dunno. But I think Stewart did a fantastic, hysterical job. He wouldn't be half as successful if he is if it weren't for that wonderfully mobile face of his! Not to mention the great writers...

I have always thought the internet a tremendous blessing for the fact that it broke the major media stranglehold on information and threw down the notion that folks like Hearst, Sinclair and Murdoch could control public opinion with carefully selected distortions and lies.

Not that they don't still try, not that fools don't still listen to them, but folks willing to look are no longer dependant on them for information.

And boy howdy to the powers that be hate it, which is why they wanna strangle the internet, but it's too late, it's too damn useful for them, and it probably wouldn't work anyways.
