Lottery money. Ennis House in Los Angeles is on the market. So is Elrod House. And Howe House. All designed by Frank Lloyd Wright or students of his. And all are selling for about half what they last sold for.

You might recognize Ennis House from Seasons 2 & 3 of Buffy; it was the house Angel lived in. Very dark, very mausoleum-like. Not really pretty, but striking. It was also seen as Rick Deckard's house in "Blade Runner", among a number of other movies (the original "House on Haunted Hill", for instance)

Elrod House was seen in the James Bond movie "Diamonds Are Forever".

Then there's Schindler's How House.

I'll take 'em all, please. :)

Yes, the movie made it look like a barren, dingy cubicle of an apartment. And it was once considered the height of luxury - as was the Bradbury Building, another main set piece of the movie. I guess whirled peas. I have no hope of anything else. But what do I DREAM of? A better world, in every way. Mostly that means environmentally, and politically--although to get that, people would have to evolve. I rarely dream of that.

DREAMTROVE

There are far better goals than peace and far worse nightmares than war.

If I were to wish for anything, it would be better war. The senseless loss of human life, the blatant disregard for the environment and the financial debt traps that make nations into slaves, these are why to hate war. But sometimes, someone is very very wrong, and the people must oppose it. In the future, may they be able to do so with minimal damage, but may they still be able to do so.

ETA: for frem, even if you remove the tides, the waves will still crash on the shore. The ideas of men are not forgotten just because the men themselves do not endure. But if it's to be done right, you better not miss a target, because the beast will become stronger and more defensive.

You know I prefer my solutions to by more grounded in perception, and I see conflict as a liability, and indeed, fuel for the fire.
