Am I understanding it right, the lady wasn't punished for 'refusing to have her dog put down', but rather for failing to take it to the vet for so long when it was evidently in pain and discomfort? Take the Daily Mail with a huge pinch of salt folks.

I can understand if she was afraid of what the vets might prescribe, but that's a very selfish kind of love - especially since the dog might not have needed to be put down (or suffer for so long) had she sought help sooner. The dog deserved better.

Having said that the electronic tag is stupid. What's it's purpose?
