Space colonization is one of Byte's dreams for humanity and for the future. I'm not so sure that we're heading that way, but that's what she wants and she believes that we can get there. We need people with big dreams for hunanity as well as for Earth that still is. Who am I to say that she won't somehow help in that effort, get us closer to that idea? Who am I and who are you to say? That's how inventions get made and things change, when people have seemingly impossible dreams that they believe in even though others don't.

I think this conversation went downhill when Kiki made her post about "irrational ideas". Kiki, I like you because I don't think you're as mean as you come across, but you do come across as mean and lacking empathy at times.

Niki, I never realized that you had such a fatalistic view of humanity, its interesting actually to try and reconcile that with what I know of your personality, the things you care about etc. You are sending mixed messages my friend and I don't know what to make of them. But I suppose I can chalk it up to the fact that we're all human and sometimes we believe things that don't make sense to others. By the way have you ever read the book/seen the movie On the Beach (starring Rachel Ward)? I think it might be something that would be memorable for you. I saw the film a year or two ago and it was significant. I just read the book too, they were both very well done and extremely thought provoking in ways that no other apocolyptic saga has ever been for me.
