DETROIT (WJBK) - Why is the city of Detroit putting in new sidewalks and wheelchair ramps in neighborhoods where no one lives? You'll see empty lots next to abandoned house after abandoned house.

Yet, on the corner, brand new cement with state of the art ramps. And if you think only city residents are paying for this, think again. FOX 2's Simon Shaykhet found out why we're all footing the bill.

Your tax $'s at work.

Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

I'm struggling to imagine the cause for complaint for a city installing good sidewalks in decaying neighborhoods. Is the concern that the decaying neighborhoods are being targeted exclusively, or is the concern that the decaying neighborhoods should be abandoned to their ill fate?

The concerns you express are explicitly addressed in the accompanying video.

You should watch, THEN reply.

Hello,

While I appreciate your order of compliance, I have not the means to enjoy your thoughtfully linked video. Without an equally thoughtful address of the concerns by your good self, I suppose I will continue to be mystified by you as per usual.

Worthy and her puppet Bing gotta make the rake-off somehow now that they've squeezed dry other sources.

Ain't about left-right politics, that, and has prettymuch jack shit to do with the federal level - it's about a corrupt culture which has existed for some time in the heart of detroits government, because NO PEACEFUL MEANS exist for its removal that don't lie within the control of the very people who should be removed.

In short, the end result OF government.

To sum up, federal $ was spent( wasted ) on very fine sidewalks, with anti skid wheel chair accessible ramps, which lead to - no where. The neighborhood was / is a complete blight. Worse still, the roads in the nearly abandoned area had been paved, partially, again to no where.

All the locals, or the ones they could find, were annoyed that so much $ had been wasted, where it could have been used better, any number of ways.

You're welcome.

Ya can't blame the feds, Rappy - it's the local officials who decided WHERE those funds go, and they need to be called to heel on that and many other things, sure.

But you've no solutions, just whining and partisanship, so why should I give a fuck about your opinion ?

Ha ha. Did I GIVE my opinion? Just offered up the facts. You took it as... well, being you, how you usually take such things.

This is just one of thousands of examples of how our tax $'s are being completely wasted. But continue to not give a fuck, because I'm the one who told you. Like that makes it less true.

Thank you captain obvious, here's your biscuit, now go AWAY unless you have something useful to add.

Was Sarah Palin involved? 'Cause if she was, you'd be totally okay with it then.

I know, isn't he a kick in the head? He's not only eloquent, you can't MISS the snark within the eloquence! But that I had such talent!

I agree with everyone else: yes, the money could be better spent elsewhere right now, but no, I have no problem with improving things in such a way; and no, you can't blame Obama, 'cuz it IS the locals who decide how the money should be spent.

By putting up the material he did, with the title he did, of COURSE he's expressing an opinion. Does he ever do otherwise?

You don't understand, because you don't share Rappy's derangement.
